@@LuisDanielNovoa You would first get the MAME cheat.7z and take ridgera2.xml out of that 7z. Then you would add the stuff I posted up there into the xml file and add it back into cheat.7z replacing the original. MAME needs to be run with the command -cheat for it to work. You could also just change cheats from 0 to 1 in MAME.ini instead. Before you try messing with the .xml file, you should first just make sure cheat.7z is working for the default cheats that come with that file like infinite time. I would suggest checking a MAME cheats tutorial video if this sounds too complicated.
I don't know too much about how Arcade1up works, but I don't think so. This is a cheat for MAME, and I don't think you can add cheats like this without modding the arcade cabinet.
@@renatorr98 I thought I had already responded to this, but I guess not. I had attempted to make a code for the first game, but it was preventing the race from starting. There must be a way around it, but I find MAME fairly difficult to use when it comes to the debug features.
Dude, even with 3rd camera cheat, ridge racer arcade performs 100x better than the ps1 ports. I dunno what the fuck namco did when making the ps1 ports but the gameplay and driving/drifting mechanics and physics are terrible.
You do realize you are comparing a full blown arcade cabinet to a small single board motherboard that came out about a year after the arcade version, right? Concessions will be made...and for the type of concessions that were made, they've performed a miracle for PS1 owners back then (in my humble opinion).
@@GooseDaPlaymaker do you even realize that; SEGA, when porting Daytona USA from arcade to sega saturn, they keep intact the driving/drift physics? Even Sega saturn was inferior to PS1...
@@TheJacklopz I think that might be where the issue lies. You're comparing PS1 ports from arcade racing games to Saturn ports. The PS1 was more POPULAR than the Saturn, but definitely not more POWERFUL (the exact same dichotomy lies between the PS2 and Original Xbox). Also, the Ridge Racer games were ported with a graphics-forward mindset vs physics-based mindset with Daytona. Daytona plays more closely like the arcade on Saturn...but looks absolutely horrible compared to the graphics port of Ridge Racer to PS1. But as you said...physics-wise, Ridge Racer's are lacklustre to their arcade counterparts. Just my thoughts, no spike in emotions over here...😇
Yes, but did you add the modified xml to cheat.7z? You also need to use the command -cheat to use cheats in MAME. I would suggest testing the default Ridge Racer 2 cheats first and then modifying the xml file to add the new codes.
How do you even add or find this code I've been messing about with Mame4droid for ages and downloaded cheat 7zip added it to thee mame rom directory and only cheats that come up are the crappy infinite time and drive anywhere code come up?? This file swapping is to complicated why can't it just be simpler
If you don't count the PS1 release of Ridge Racer 1, it took until Rave Racer for a third person view to be implemented.
I love Ridge Racer 2 in the arcade original and the Arcade1Up
If these arcade games got released for home they'd definitely have to rework the camera and controls to make it more like the PS1 versions.
Can you do the Golgo 13 arcade games?
I have only barely tried out the first one before. I probably can do it, though.
I uploaded the first game in the series. I have already played the others, so there will be videos soon.
Now we just need good net play support in mame and get some vpn rings going

@@arronmunroe yeah I’m trying to find out, as I just picked up an RR arcade 1up machine, and would love to change views, like I could on psx!
I can’t imagine it had changed on Tail Cam.
Could you share the code please? This is great!
I had previously posted them, but here they are. These are separate codes that you don't use at the same time. They are different camera angles.

nope, this is a code manipulator script for MAME emulation, it's on PC is what I mean
