So it was only until she made the cops look like fools for not prosecuting or forwarding this case to the next district that they did anything what f****** shame
Exactly! If Phyllis hadn't called the news station the police would've simply closed the case and said, "Well it's out of our jurisdiction, so it's out of our hands." They wouldn't have referred the case if the media attention hadn't pressured them to.
Yeah it's not a coincidence that two of the stolen checks came from the same place. Either they've got a thief working inside, or they work from home and have a thieving house guest/neighbor.
Good luck getting restitution. Our family's been waiting since 2004, conviction 2009, restitution 6$ a month here and there. Like these old ladies that got robbed, we will die before we get full restitution. Honorable Attorney General Moody please help us poor slobs taken advantage of by criminals. We are not Walgreens or Home Depot but we deserve laws and justice and restitution. Ps our thief has his Instagram/social media : out partying, eating steaks...yet no$ for victims!
Considering that he won't pay his forced restitution can't you guys file a civil lawsuit for the money? If you can get a legal judgment you can have his paycheck garnished. If he doesn't work a job, you can have his assets seized to sell them to get your money back.
I’m so sick of this justice system. The criminal shouldn’t be released from supervision until every penny of restitution is payed and I don’t care if it takes thirty years. Judges are responsible for holding the perpetrators responsible for their actions including reimbursement for their victims. Our judges are too weak and prosecutors don’t care.
She's old enough to know as I was taught in school in the 70's. You never leave space on a check for someone to write or add a number to increase a check amount. This was the first check frauds there ever were.
If Phyllis hadn't called the news station the police would've simply closed the case and said, "Well it's out of our jurisdiction, so it's out of our hands." If they had referred the case to the sheriff's office when it was first reported there wouldn't be so many other victims.
Fast money 5 min to change a check and cash it for 2 weeks worth of work. That's a good scheme if you do not use your real name. Her fast cash did not end well.
I bet she was purposely making the amounts due in the 100 dollar range, because the ones can be changed to nines easily. Also, I would not be giving any money to someone with neck/face ink, but that's just me...
0:25 That shot of the altered check shows how easily you can rewrite a 1 into a 9 in short and the handwritten words way. Pretty much just dip the check in nail polish remover (acetone) while preserving the signature and such.

Pretty sad that the police won't even try, even when all eyes are on them. Good job, Shannon.
I must agree! Some impressive investigative journalism here.
So it was only until she made the cops look like fools for not prosecuting or forwarding this case to the next district that they did anything what f****** shame
True. Its shameful.

I didn’t think a 23 year old knew what a check was 😂
Why wouldn't they ?!... Unless you don't sign up for direct deposit you get a check when you work a job.
She may not but I bet she has a Bae that does.
She’s 23 not 13 you dummy
LMAO!!! I bet she doesn't know what a 7018 or 6013 is either!
If Keelee was named La’Toya or Moesha, the arrest would not have taken this long
So tired and bored with dum comments like your's.
In America, criminals and lazy people are treated the best. The taxpayer gets punished.
There’s no place for her in society. Unfortunately she will get probation
Pinch a Penny has a thief working inside. How in the hell two checks get stolen.
Yeah it's not a coincidence that two of the stolen checks came from the same place. Either they've got a thief working inside, or they work from home and have a thieving house guest/neighbor.
Exactly what I thought
she was cought with hundreds of personal documents in her car and was able to keep her job????
PRO TIP: Use a pen that has GEL INK. It won't wash out with acetone like a standard ink pen.
You're the real MVP.
there are also "document pens" made to prevent this sort of thing.
Even Pro-er tip: don't use checks lol

Time for private employment to take over😈

So the cop were willing to turn a blind eye even with video evidence? Sounds like cop logic.

No big deal. She will get a fine and 2yrs probation.
Do not write Checks is nor mail them. I haven’t written a check and over five years.
Thank you
I stop handwritten checks a long time ago. Only cashiers checks for me.
Nothing will happen to her, she has the look.
Good job!
Yeah and what's a shame is the police department don't want anything to do with it unless it's somebody out on the street with a gun
Yeah, and then they Really don’t.

Sad! She could have become a model! Alas, you will serve decades in prison!
People are desperate today, times are hard..
WOW! Unbelievable!
Sad that police depts. are showing their willful incompetence once again! POLICE HAVE TO BE HELD TO A HIGHER STANDARD THAN THIS.
This guy wrote a check to cover a car payment..funds were not in bank to cover it..he spent a few months at Lake Butler
