Thanks for the comment Lawrence. I'm absolutely loving these crusher fines. I'm not sure if they are crushed limestone, basalt, etc. but they pack EXTREMELY hard and take heavy watering which seems to make it set even harder unlike working with a clay soil which just becomes muddy. This is almost exactly like working with quikcrete.
I have a small test bag that's been drying for about a week. I have plans to discuss earth bag fill specifically in a standalone video. We'll have some fun testing it. Stay tuned! 😁

Found your channel today. We're west of you over the Arizona line. I watched all the earthbag videos. We're doing something similar, but we are retired and work much slower. Suggestion; turn the music down or better yet, when you edit, turn the audio where you are speaking up. Lol we're wish you well and wish we didn't have a bunch of hoops to go through for ours!

Thanks for the suggestion and welcome to the channel. We're trying different things as we go along. I will get the audio mix right eventually, we're a work in progress... 😆

Don't change the soil! That was your premise. /even concrete fractures. The question is, "are they structural?" Another question, "Did the Indians and Mexicans, in days of old, go totown to get their soil?" Of course, the answer is, "Hell no!" How about getting a person-with-a-tractor out there to dig a hole and get you a pile, the size you need. That's what the quariman did!

I thot you were supposed to put barbed wire between the rows to hold the bags together.

That's an good observation. It depends on the material of bags. Traditional "earth bags" or what they call super adobe uses a polypropylene solid bag which has a slick texture and does require barbed wire. This is the method used by Cal Earth Institute. When using a raschel mesh type bag like we are using (hyperadobe) the mesh texture is different and instead of being slick, sort of locks together like a Velcro between courses eliminating the need for barbed wire.
You may also notice that I'm not placing string between the courses either to attach mesh screen later for plastering. That's because the hyperadobe mesh tubing also provides a good foundation for plaster eliminating the need for that also. Thanks for watching and catching that difference in technique

It seems like you're doing a lot more work by piecing the load together and continuing to arrive at a "feel."You have all the tools you need for consistent load-quantities. Assuming that you're using the same soil, all-the-time, couldn't you arrive at a ratio of soil and water and just put in those quantities for each load and always get the same "feel?" @@jimmyneighbors4943 It's alright Jimmy. It's a good observation. We're learning as we go out here as well.
      Thanks for watching :)
