    To anyone this may help, I use a very light fabric chalk to draw my letters first then slip stitch. It just wipes off with a damp cloth. So much easier to me than going by eye.

    • @vegangelist
      @vegangelist 3 роки тому

      I wish I knew what kind. I've tried fabric markers and a thin fabric chalk and it was barely visible and hard to mark on the crochet and it roughed up the surface of the yarn trying to get the letters to show up.
      Not to mention that drawing out cursive letters would have been impossible.

    • @Erin_NM
      @Erin_NM 3 роки тому +8

      @@vegangelist I use normal chalk. Don’t bother with fabric chalk just regular white chalk. I normally do single crochet or even slip stitch blankets in darker colours and just a few vague marks make it so much easier. I don’t have the full writing laid out just basic guides

      Hello how can you make the letters more thick than just one line

    • @Erin_NM
      @Erin_NM 3 роки тому +2

      @@alleykook9649 I’ve no idea other than maybe holding 2 strands together to make the line thicker? I just do it with 1 in a contrasting colour

    To all of those wondering how to finish it off... Either knot it and fasten off the excess or knot it and feed the excess you fasten off back and forth through the wrong side of the project's embroidery yarn.

    • @secretsquirrel7300
      @secretsquirrel7300 3 роки тому +2

      I would be concerned about a knot holding through washing. I would have to weave in excess in some was so as to be sure it holds.

    I crocheted a blanket for my Mom with fall colors (Burgundy, Gold, Forest Green, and Brown) and felt that it needed a little something. Came across this in my recommended and decided to use this technique to stitch in leaves and vines. Was a little tricky, but bc the technique is so simple it was easy to do and redo as needed. Thank you for the tutorial!

      my guess is to leave a tail that’s about 5-6 inches before cutting your working yarn off, then weave the tail in like how you would normally do when ending a project :)

    Let you know that when I was 14 or 15 years old started learned how to make practice crochet basic small scarf first time, it was not bad still practice doing few scarfs then practice first time small blanket for my old cat black and white ( that time my black and white cat kitty about 2 or 3 years old was still live in 1994 he loved my first made small crochet blanket it, decided to make get second big crochet blanket for him somehow he decided jumped, laying and sleep on me during the crochet blanket it was so funny.. few hours I was done with second big crochet blanket for him he was like purring and sleeping all day on his second big crochet blanket then next day I decided beginning third crochet blanket (almost same toddler blanket sizes but not exactly sizes what I mean?) Took me about 3 or 4 hours to finish that hehe that time I was still learning to how to make big crochet blanket sizes i did folded crochet blanket put on dinner table, supposed to doing suprise wrapping gift in the morning I was gonna to give that blanket to (that time my cousin was about 7 or 8 months old) but somehow about midnight timemy old husky dog was about 11 or 12 years old decided to walked to dinner room, saw crochet blanket decided to use her paws trying to crochet blanket fell on the floor from dinner table it was success , she picked those up carried to her pet's bed, decided her favorite blanket covered under crochet big blanket and when I woke up looked around into house cant find big crochet blanket for few days can't believe somehow my old cat black stinko and white bring to me I was like " where did you get from?" Using my American sign language, stinko bite my right leg that mean get up and follow me I followed stinko went to my old husky( shebia) her pet bed had it for few days covered her favorite blanket that why thanked to my old cat black and white stinko, few days later shebia passed away I decided gave her that big crochet blanket with her special 🙏☹, I still do practice many different kinds crochet blankets sizes 1994 to 1999 graduated deaf school decided stopped doing crochet blankets because that time I went to college for a year in summer 1999 to spring 2000 then went different college spring 2000 to spring 2002( supposed to graduate in winter 2002 had reasons discharged from college) after I left college, honest with you that time didn't thinking about back to my favorite doing crochets until in fall 2005 decided to back my favorite crochets forgot how to make crocheting struggling and failed many mistakes ( that time I don't have any crochets books or any technical videos nothing) I decided to start over doing crochet blankets didn't success still failing somehow my parents decided surprised me I got basic few crochets books finally some it helped me successes yayaya somehow it was my idea I tried how to make put my name letter on crochet blanket never successfully , still doing crochet blankets everyday........ today until I decided to looked search my UA-cam channel for how to make letter on blanket ahh I found it in your UA-cam video does helped me lot I got it letters on blanket it really so easy thanks so much I'm appreciated that 🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟❤❤❤
