If you are looking for a nice 3D printer to start, the Ender 3 Pro is a solid choice. It is cheap, easy to assemble (well, as easy as it can be on "3D printing world"), it has a strong construction, produces great prints and there are LOTS of videos on UA-cam showing how to get the best results on this printer. My honest opinion, not sponsored.

My science teacher made me a octopus and its the smaller version one and it is glow-in-the-dark and I absolutely love it
Wow, the glow-in-the-dark filament is a very good idea! I must try it! Thank you
I like the thick walls with little to no infill on that first big octopus!
ok i have that wiggly octopus toy from a lady who 3d printed stuff and its my favorite little pet thingy now lol
This Octopus is probably my favorite model - it is so fun: everybody likes it!
What a quality video! I am so sorry, everson. i just watched your new videos. I was busy starting a new business.
Hi Reagan 👋 Thank you for watching my videos! I wish you all the luck on your new business!
You should try to lower your temp just a bit (like 5°c) or bump up the fan to get rid of the stringing, otherwise it's perfect.
Hi Yoann! Yeah, a lot of stringing in this video! The things is: I printed some Stringing Temp Tower tests and the Fluorescent Orange filament I bought is VERY prone to stringing in any temperature... For the Gray filament you are absolutely right: in 190°C it gets very clean. Anyway, I could almost eliminate the stringing even for higher temperatures in PrusaSlicer by including “Wiping” movements before nozzle travels. Now it would be very nice if the OctoLapse plugin could do a wiping as well, before moving the head out of the print for the photos 😁
It is inevitable: you buy a 3D Printer and you start printing lots of toys 🤣 Having kids make up for the perfect excuse to print anything cute or fun with no remorse - after all, it is for the kids! 🤔 There is an endless collection of cool things to print on Thingiverse - here are 3 of them.
That was really interesting and cool! When we got a 3d printer in our shop I burned up about 200 dollars in filament just playing around. xD I love that octopus!
Tammy, yeah! So far it was about 5kg of PLA... it would be the double if I had two printers (my wife will never let me buy a second one, ha ha ha).
@@GeekDetour Hehehe :) Can't wait to see more of what you do with it, thanks for sharing this video!
Messing around with cute and fun models is certainly part of the process - but I feel the urge to find my way into printing useful stuff :)
My daughter caught on that I can make toys. We’re on octopus #2 right now and already planning more! Lol
How do all the knobs within the toys works with the 3d printers
Hi 👋 I didn’t understand your question - can you rephrase it?
Geek Detour So you know how to lever that makes the toys move back and forth how did you add them on during the 3D printing process, also huge fan been here since a long time ago.
Thank you! There are toys that you print everything as separated parts and later you assemble them together. But the real magic of 3D printing are the models that each piece is already in place and when the print finishes, everything is already “assembled”. The printer must be well calibrated, otherwise some pieces might touch each other and fuse. This Octopus 🐙 model is my favorite - watching the closeups you can see how the links are formed.
Is it legal to sell the squid?
If you look at its Thingiverse Page, you will see the Creative Commons Attribution NON-COMMERCIAL license, so the answer is no, you cannot legally print and sell them (unless you contact the author directly and negotiate a different permission). Here is the Page: www.thingiverse.com/thing:3495390
Ima buy a 3D printed slug or octopus:) btw thanks for the video! Keep up the great work 😊
What material (PLA) you used to print and what kind of basic settings with that? I'm suffering messed up versions of the Octopus, tried lots of different settings for the bed and nozzle temp, fan speed etc...
Hi there! I used two different filament brands - both found here in Spain 🇪🇸: the Fluorescent Yellow is usually sold as “specially made” for the “BQ Witbox Go!” Printer (the brand is BQ). And the Fluorescent Red/orange is Sakata 850. I am pretty sure I printed it quite hot (like 215°C or even 220°C), it was certainly 0.2mm layer height and I am not sure if I used a 0.4 or a 0.6mm nozzle. The maximum speed was 60 (the external perimeters were 30). The secret is, of course, mastering you bed-leveling, having a bed squeaky-clean (I use dishwasher soap 🧼 and warm water, after drying with paper towel I NEVER touch the bed surface with my oily fingers). When I printed this, I was quite new at 3D printing... there wasn’t any “special trick” on my profile - it was pretty much standard.
Yo dude, how did you change colours during the print? Do you have to change the spool that's connected?
Exactly. PrusaSlicer has a very convenient way to mark in which layer you want a “color change” - it inserts “M600” commands on your GCode file. If your printer supports the M600, when it reaches that height, it pauses, makes a few beeeeps to alert you, and you can change the Spool for the desired color, and resume the print job. If the printer doesn’t support the M600, it is possible to make changes in the firmware and include it: ua-cam.com/video/gwHpXaj_6xE/v-deo.html
Hi which camera do you use . Thanks
Hi there! It is written on the video AND on the description 🤔🤣 Two cameras, old ones: a Canon 600D and a Logitech C922 webcam
What were your settings for the smaller octopus?
Hi there! I don't remember... if was two years ago! :) Did you try printing it? Did you have any problems?
Ayyyy... U are back missing your voice
Ha ha, thank you! Here: 3D printing AND my voice 😁 ua-cam.com/video/l1UHEkJKnDc/v-deo.html
How long did it take to print them 260% version of the octopus?
Hi 👋 Jennifer! So far I printed 3 of them, 260% (what fits on my Ender 3). The time can vary A LOT depending on the settings you chose to slice the model. The longer it took me was 17h and the fastest was 9h... Printing in 0.6mm nozzle makes a dramatic difference. This video might interest you: ua-cam.com/video/XvSNQ7rVDio/v-deo.html
this was such eye candy to watch lol
Ha ha. Thank you!
Mate a multy colerd one
This is quite simple - it is still one color at a time: beginning with a red filament and I programmed an M600 GCode command at the desired layer so the printer automatically pauses the print at that height and you can change the filament color. If you are into 3D printing, watch this M600 tutorial: ua-cam.com/video/CDz2IxxINBE/v-deo.html
What software was used to create the octopus?
The author says the arms were designed in Fusion 360 and the head in Meshmixer - it is written at the bottom of the page: www.thingiverse.com/thing:3495390
wish I had bed adhesion like that :(
Thanks! Well, the glass was squeaky clean. I mean it: washed with dish-washing detergent, rinsed in warm water, dried with paper towel and NO FINGER TOUCHING afterwards. Bed leveling for a nice squish, filament really sticks.
Hi, which soft wear use for design
Hi 👋 I didn’t model these myself - I got the STL files on Thingiverse (links on the description). There are many ways to create 3D models - the author of the Octopus used Fusion 360 for the tentacles and Meshmixer for the head.
Does it do color mixing while printing
Not exactly. My printer, as the majority of 3D printers so far, only extrudes 1 material. I programmed a “pause” on a certain height for a Filament Change it takes around a minute to do so. They are different plastics/colors, but they fuse perfectly.
The Video and the models are very nice!
But your Stringing is crazy....
Hi Adam! You are absolutely right! 😭🤣 I recorded this Timelapse exactly 1 month after I got my Ender - so many things I didn’t know how to adjust and control back then!
Hi where did u get the file planning to get ender 3
Hi Mimi! Sorry, I didn’t understand your question, can you rephrase it? 😁
Geek Detour hi, I mean where did u get the file that octupos one ... I’m planning to get 3d printer but I dunno where I can get this file or make
Oh, check the description of the video - I’ve put links to the models there. The “3D models” are downloaded as “STL” files - and you use a program called “slicer” to generate the instructions for your 3D printer. In the slicer you adjust A LOT of parameters about how you want it printed (speeds, temperatures, how thick are the walls, how much plastic used as infill... it is A LOT of options). Before you buy a 3D printer, I recommend you to watch a few videos - here is an introduction to 3D printing: ua-cam.com/video/3LBTkLsjHGQ/v-deo.html and if you buy a cheap printer kit, like the Ender 3, you must be prepared to assemble and adjust it... it is NOT as simple as assembling IKEA furniture 😄 Here is a tutorial: ua-cam.com/video/2Th2e7wTNV0/v-deo.html

How can I contact you so you can make something for me
Hi there 👋 I didn’t model these myself - I just got the STL from Thingiverse (links on the description) and printed them on my Ender 3 Pro.
Where can I buy these(lol)
I suppose you can find people that sell them printed. BUT, the author published the octopus model as Creative Commons NOT COMMERCIAL (so, you can get it, print it for personal use, but not selling).

😍🔥👍❤
did you actually pay that much money
Can you Du Pokemon
I need to take a look :) I am always searching for cool toys to print.
u should of not posted this
im making one now
This Octopus is a sensation: every time someone sees it, they have to play with it - it is so different and the colors got so cool. Then, you tell "Oh, it is 3D printed! I printed it here at home!" and people get really surprised. It is a very, very cool model!
