Also works with Inline 6 engines. Saved me having to engine swap my food truck too. The dowels were the hardest part for me too. I ended up using small C-clamps to "press" them into place on the side where there wasn't enough room to line up a hammer.
exact same thing just happend to me. i went through 2 starters and a ton of shims just for the ear to drop right of the block and land right on my teeth. im going to try to weld the chunk back to the block and use the bolt to make it sit the right way. if that works im going to weld a stud in a be done
@@trevorjoeofficial as far as I can tell it did work. Needs some fine tuning but as long as you don't put unnecessary pressure on the weld joint by putting a lock washer on the starter bolt it'll hold strong enough to crank but again this kinda repair is difficult to get right.

I think I found a solution and I’m down to let everyone to know tips are appreciated but not required Put a jugs racing starter in they have four holes that go all the way thru and rethread the block with the inner hole on the outside of the jegs starter I’m putting mine in the shop to get rethread and it took me 4 days to figure this out
I have a 95 5.7 broken bloc and so I hela coiled the hole on the block Side and jb weilded it in and drilled a hole all the way thru the out side And have same problem of it getting loose a And binding the rear bracket idea along with I think is the answer other than weilding the holes full and redrilling
Man, we are a food truck as well and dealing with the exactly problem right now. Been out for nearly a month now trying to figure out a solution..🤦🏻♂️
What starter would work on my v6 4.3 small block chey that has a across bolt pattern instead of off centerd? It's (the v6 4.3) is in a 91 chevy s10 automatic trans
You should just swing buy a welding shop and hand out some free chili dogs and get someone to weld it up, a good welder should have no problem with that.
Tried welding, didn't work well, DEPENDS HOW CRACKED THE BLOCK IS, try brake cleaner and a good light and you will see how many cracks there are. Gave up, a rebuild ordered.
Yeah James, I tried. Couldn't find anyone in my area that really wanted to even give it a shot. We did find an easy and economical repair, coming soon.
YOU NAILED MY PROBLEM!!! Mine is cracked and am going to drill all the way through and put a longer bolt through the hole with a nut on back.

Me too buddy, how did it work for you? I’m gonna have to do the stud and weld it on a 6.5 diesel Chevy

Yes sir, see the next video: ua-cam.com/video/5YR5zkWNpwk/v-deo.html

Will this work on a 4.3 2000 Chevrolet blazer ls with a 4.3 vortex

I'm inclined to agree with you, I think the JB weld might work but would be smart to add that bracket too.
Hi will this work on a 2000 Chevy c2500 5.7 liter e
I think it will, but would check with manufacturer first. There are several producing them at this time
Jermie did you find out if it worked? I have the same issue.

NOTE: This plate will NOT fit a chevrolet 5.7 (350) Vortec engine
I would call the manufacturer to check fittment
@@AxlesGarage I tried contacting summit Racing but everytime I get to their web site the site shuts down and no one answers the 1-800 number
Is there a mounting plate that will fit? I'm trying to find one for my ls6 at the moment otherwise I'll be JB welding 🤦
