The pentastar is probably the worst sounding V6 I've ever heard. I have it and I can't believe how bad it sounds. I can't bring myself to change the stock exhaust and amplify how bad this engine sounds. I've had V6's in the past that sounded way better (Pontiac Grand Prix GTP). Hell even, the old 3.1L V6 they used to have back in '91 in the Cavalier sounded badass compared to this. What a shame.
The Borla Atak exhaust may very well be the best on the market. Horsepower increases will be minimal, maybe 10-12 but it sounds great on a Challenger GT.
Nice, I've been debating on whether to install the borla atak on my Challenger, and after watching this video, I now know what my Christmas present will be. This would be my last and final mod on my v6 2015 Challenger. So far I've blacked out the markers/tail lights, added carbon fiber race stripes, installed an air raid cold air intake, and just needed the exhaust to finish the entire set up.
You get the exact same sound with dynomax racebullets, its a good sound either way. If you have a v6 yeet those mid and rear mufflers and get one of these.
You should probably check the state laws and with local law enforcement on sound level regulations if you are concerned. However, 9/10 times this is perfectly legal. Most places are quite lenient with sound levels. The only time I would be concerned if it was legal though, is if it was straight piped. Most cops honesty don’t care if it’s loud as long as you aren’t shattering their ear drums.
I am also from MN. How does the challenger handle on the snowy days? not talking the 10+ inch snow days but the average ones we see. Looking at getting SXT plus AWD
Did u get that sound on the initial install or after a few days/weeks/miles later? I just got my full catback installed today and on the initial start up, it sounded very raspy amd high pitched. Nothing like the way it sounds on your video. I also have the mopar cai, 91 octane overkill tune and pedal commander. Hoping that once the system its properly burned in, its true sound will come out.
@@customcutscentral5658Been driving it around as much as I can and hard when its safe. At wot, i do hear the borla growl, and it does sound nice, the cold start this morning was no where near like on this video but it is changing. Plus i still dont have the tips and I removed the fake tips a while back so the end of the exhaust is still inside the bumper which leads me to believe the sound is not coming completely out of the lack of tips. Its either that or a lot of the vids on here some how it adds more bass to the sound, so to us viewers it sounds amazing. 🤷♂️
@@davilafamily1 that makes sense. It’s so hard to get an idea of what an exhaust sounds like on a UA-cam video. Currently looking for something for my challenger
@@customcutscentral5658 So its been a week and a full tank of gas has gone by. Also, I finally got around to installing the tips yesterday. Prior to the tips, I noticed a few things that changed since the install. Prior to install, i had a custom built catback using pypes street pro mufflers. It wasnt a pypes cstback system tho, it was made by the local shop using 2.5in piping. The borla uses 2.25 pipes on their catback. Well I didnt realize (until now) that these engines thrive on 2.25 pipes. Immediately, once I drove away from the shop, i felt the throttle was way more responsive, I even double checked that the pedal commander was disabled and it was. The throttle response is so much better that even the shift points of the 8sp are better. Its like it got rid of the throttle lag that i experienced for years until i got the pedal commander. Even with the use of overkill tunes, the lag was still present, until the pedal commander was installed. So u can imagine with the pedal commander, its even more responsive,. As for the sound (prior to the tips), it is changing as the days go by, still not as deep as this vid, but its getting there. Once the tips were installed, the sound got louder and the sound is closer to the vids out there. So the tips were the main culprit for the lower sound levels as some of the exhaust notes were being trapped behind the bumper instead of exiting the vehicle. All in all, its a great system and im liking it more and more as the sound changes with time. A few key points to remember, You're not going to hear the same sound while inside the cabin, the bulk of the sound is on the rear. Unlike some of the other ystems where the sound comes from the sides amd the back, which gives the ability to hear the exhaust note inside the cabin, and in some cases, the dreaded drone sound. One will think that it sounds weak when you're driving, unless its at wot, but i had a friend drive it and it sounded great from the back of the vehicle, and when he punched it, u definitely hear the borla scream loud. Just like on this video when he takes off. Im totally not regretting getting this system... let me know what system u end up getting.
Question - I have 2018 AWD GT, I'm undecided between Borla S, Atak OR RIPP.. Both Borla's are 2.25 inch pipe, RIPP is 2.50. Does the Borla add 15 - 17 HP like RIPP?
Your v6 challenger sounds like my 5.7 at start up in the first part of the video and im running borla attacks.
Best exhaust for the challenger v6.
Pentastar is definitely one of the best sounding v6's ever and that Borla exhaust just really sets it off!
Lol just no.

Love the yellow, also probably best best of v6 challenger. I like that you added the startup, idel, revs driveby and in cabin sound within 1 video

I come from Germany, where everything is illegal, and now live in the US. Is modifying the exhaust like this legal everywhere in the states?
