This is probably my most anticipated game ever. And part of it is the fact that its NOT on kickstarter. Its like, "Here you go! A new amazing game.....that comes out in a month!!" And as always Rodney with the killer walkthrough.
Rodney, you have come such a long way production-wise since you launched this channel (was it 8 years ago?) and even since I got into the hobby and started watching you in 2015. It really warms my heart that most of your videos nowadays are sponsored, as it means that you are finally getting the recognition and reward you deserve for the value you bring in the industry (being featured on BGG I'm sure is a great honour but it doesn't pay any bills). It has been a joy watching you grow and noticing the subtle changes in assertiveness. Your presentation skills, hard work, attention to details and of course the magnitude of your output are inspirational. You're also probably one of the nicest guys in the hobby :) So kudos and thanks!
Hi Rodney, can you make a video on how to execute the perfect box flip? 😁 Awesome video as always. Looks like Stonemaier has another winner. We’ll definitely try to get this one to the table!
As encouraged, I didn't hesitate to write this, but sadly, I don't really have anything to say besides thanking you for your job and your warm personality. Hugs and kisses Rodney, keep being you.
The video I’ve been waiting for! Thanks Rodney; after the explanation I have a lot more confidence in being able to play and understand the game. Watch It Played helps me understand the games as I find it tricky to absorb written rules. An absolute key resource for me; so thanks for all that you do!
Thank you for this excellent walk through. Precise and easy to understand and so well organized. We watched together as a family and it really helped us thoroughly enjoy our first play through of Tapestry. Great game overall and we're looking forward to future plays.
I was honestly not certain what to expect with Tapestry upon hearing the initial information. The buildings looked nice, but I was not certain what part they would play in the game. They just seemed a little large and clunky. Having watched Rodney present this game (and for me, he is the best intro option out there), the use of the buildings makes sense, and I am extremely looking forward to getting this game. Given, I'll need to watch this video a dozen more times to take it all in, but I am excited to do so.
Good rules overview. This game isn't what I'd call "newb-friendly" (with all the fiddly bits and rules nuances) but once you get a handle on things it's quite a blast and strategic. Love this game.
Thanks for the kind words (and interest in more solo content). We just launched a new solo based series, with more episodes on the way: ua-cam.com/video/hYYrELw3a_g/v-deo.html
Oh. My. Goodness! I have been watching the production notes Jamey has been putting out, and I am on the list for the Pre Order. I am now even MORE excited than ever!!!!!!!!!
I broke the news to my wife that we will be adding yet another Stonemaier game to the collection (Scythe, Wingspan, Viticulture are all three our regular plays..... pretty much to the exclusion of almost everything else anymore). She will watch this video. I told her to prepare to be totally blown away. How does he keep doing it. We played Viticulture four times on Sunday alone!!!!
Thank you for putting this out. It answers some of my questions yet I would like to see it fully in action. I did see that there is a video posted from another youtuber so I will check that out.
This was incredibly helpful. Tapestry is an amazing game, but definitely pretty dense to get your foot in the door. This made the rules very digestible and I'm excited to share this game with more friends.
I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve!!! Tomorrow is the big day for preorder. I have my alarm set, and am ready to go. I cannot wait! I plan on being on the line promptly and being one of the lucky ones!! And I am getting an extra set of the Science and Military Dice as well. Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!!!
Rodney, you are the best! Have you ever considered having a teaching series about non-boardgame topics? I would watch them as well. You make the complex very understandable. Good job as always. I cannot wait to get my pre-ordered copy of Tapestry!!
I have another, personal youtube channel, and while I intended to do more tutorials there, I mostly vlog on it. But I did do this one: ua-cam.com/video/peQzgOU-5jg/v-deo.html
Rodney, I've been watching you for years and dare say this is the video I've finally forgotten the old intro music vs this current one you've had a while. took me a long time, but I'm officially converted:)
Even the cubes look good in this game :). Thanks Rodney for another great video. I would be interested in a behind the scenes how you make one of your videos. Obviously you are very good at this and as an aspiring game designer, it is cool to see how you do a good “how to” videos so well.
Guess its a little late to say it but, I ran into your videos (The really old ones, back from 2013) And I really enjoyed the tutorials you have made! You have helped me teach other players at my table and I just wanted to say Thanks! Your videos are fun and I like how you used to interact with the viewers (Legendary Marvel was fun!)
This game looks awesome. Hope I can still pre-order it somewhere. Another excellent video from Rodney, and it seems another excellent game from Stonemaier Games!
Great rules overview, thank you. Nice to see how the various entries of Jamey's diary have come together into a coherent game. Really looking forward to this one. Will tense myself for potential sticker-shock on September 4th.
Hey Rodney, great vid as usual. At 12:34 you tell how some effects place buildings and cubes on tiles: could you point me to some examples? I went through the rules and the guide and can't find what action causes this.
Hey Rodney, thanks for this very helpful video. I have many questions about this game, but the one I'd like to ask you focuses on the 17:00 one when you're discussing the science track. When you roll the dice and you get the science icon . . . do you move two spaces forward? Thanks.
Keyforge has a few pages of rules but the cards have rules each just like this game. So like in a card game you learn the game as you play. So its still a simple game to start but complex game to win.
Hey Rodney, one question for you, and I may have just simply missed the answer. When during an income turn without a tapestry card in hand, you play from the top of the deck but you said it plays face down. How would you flip it over to gain any result? Or is this just a dud space on your tapestry now through to the end of the game?

What... That intro box flip... Perfection. Instant thumbs up!!!!
Thanks Johan :)
Yeah, those flipping skills are top notch. The flourish at the end as well!
This is probably my most anticipated game ever. And part of it is the fact that its NOT on kickstarter. Its like, "Here you go! A new amazing game.....that comes out in a month!!" And as always Rodney with the killer walkthrough.
Yeah, it's great SM isn't using Kickstarter anymore!
Can't wait for reviews since I'll have to wait for essen to get the game in French.

Thank you for the incredibly kind words - that means a lot (and yep, we started late in 2011!) - it's been a journey!
Complex yet simple! The rules aren't complicated but there's so much to do! Looking forward to playing it. Thanks for the great video 🙂
Way too much to do!!!! Great!
This game looks super awesome. A 4 page rulebook + WIP explanation = perfection.
Hi Rodney, can you make a video on how to execute the perfect box flip? 😁 Awesome video as always. Looks like Stonemaier has another winner. We’ll definitely try to get this one to the table!

Shouts out to Jamey Stegmaier for putting a sudoku minigame in here.
He said it was inspired by a feast for odin which is one of his favorit games :)
What Sudoku?
@@ZoidbergForPresident the capital city map

@@ZoidbergForPresident Well it's a grid in the shape of a sudoku grid, 9x9 square with 9 3x3 square in it.

Clear and concise as always.
One of the major deciding factors in the ‘do I buy this?’ question is whether or not there’s a How It’s Played video
