- This "Notes of Appreciation" performance features Boston Symphony principal bassist Edwin Barker, performing the "Prelude" and "Fugue" from Bach's Cello Suite No. 5. The suites are difficult enough for cellists, for whom the music was written; but it's even more challenging on a double bass!

Ir is very good to listen to a low version. Everybody wants to play it in the cello register, but the bass is a bass and the middle register sounds just great. Thank you very much!

Wonderful performance! Thank you Mr. Barker. Bach is so good for the soul during these troubling times. I’m a NEC trained clarinetist, but I love the Bass - Herman Reinshagen was my Great-Uncle. I enjoy playing BACH on clarinet, here’s me performing the Chaconne :)
