Over the years I had become more of a Stoops fan, and less of a Calipari fan, because I thought that Stoops over achieved and Calipari under achieved, given the talent they were working with. However, I was embarrassed to be a Kentucky fan at times yesterday with the way the players were acting, celebrating with every tackle and good play on the field. Meanwhile, Clemson just took care of business and did what a winning program is supposed to do, and won the game. The way the players acted is on Stoops, and the way in which Kentucky lost is on him as well. After this season, I've come to believe that it is Stoops who is the under achiever.
We had a better group of 11 on each side of the ball they definitely have more depth and as much as I like and support coach Stoops you shouldn't have to protect a 2nd 3rd year scholarship player. Even a freshman should be ready this far along in the season especially if hes the backup... Everyone knows we are a heavy zone team if youre down your best 2 corners if knowing the scheme like quarters, cloud/sky cov3, palms or whatever the call just call 2 man. Yea you can only rush 3 but you have everyone covered up plus safety help over the top to help 28 plus a spy on the qb. I just knew that would be the call but instead the field side curl flat is always there for the taking, also the free releases someone explain to me why our OLBs and overhangs seem to never re route anyone? The nickel thats taking the heat should be getting enough reps if he's the backup. I played college ball not at the D1 level but even as a freshman in the same exact structure by the middle of the season i knew the calls. I knew if i had to relate to #2 or #3 and my keys and responsibilities... This is beyond frustrating. The run game didnt beat us our issue defensively is so obvious my wife calls it out. These guys are getting paid good money theres no excuse for them not knowing the scheme. As a coach you cant expect some of these guys to know what everyone's job is but if you're a transfer from another D1 program you've been taught quarters, palms, sky/cloud cov3 etc the lingo just may be different but its not like going from a triple option team to a air raid team. Defense is defense at every college from Union or Georgetown to bama.
Guy is solid and has a stud coming in at QB. Taking responsibility is what a man does
As a Clemson fan y’all got a good team just give stoops a chance to rebound GGs.
Never change Stoops. Hope UK gives you a lifetime contract like Cal 😂😂😂
