Great game performance between the two teams. Hats off to a great Kentucky team. Good to end 2023 with a win, and what a exciting feeling heading into 2024.Go Tiger's!!
What an awesome game this turned out to be especially that 4th quarter scoring frenzy after a slow first 3 quarters. This might have been the best bowl game of the season so far!
Mafah's winning TD had a tow from #9 Briningstool (who had the catch that put them on the three), two big guys teaming up to make things happen. Excellent awareness on Jake's part, superb win by the Tigers.
Kentucky did so many good things in this Gator Bowl. It got a rushing, receiving and kick return touchdown from the spectacular Barion Brown. It sacked the Clemson quarterback eight times. It held the Tigers to 4.6 yards per play for the game and all of 10 points through the first three quarters. Time and again, it fought back from adversity in a wild fourth quarter. But it also made so many mistakes in this Gator Bowl. Too many mistakes. It turned the ball over on three straight possessions in its own territory in the final frame. And, at the end, up 35-30, it could not find a way to stop the Clemson offense from going 68 yards in 11 plays to score the winning touchdown - Phil Mafah’s 3-yard run for the Tigers’ fourth score of the day - with all of 17 seconds remaining. A third-and-18 from the 50-yard line was the drive’s killer play. Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik had just been called for intentional grounding. There were under 50 seconds left to play. But the Tigers’ signal-caller hit Antonio Williams for a 16-yard completion to set up a fourth-and-2 at the 34. From there, Mafah rushed 5 yards for the first down. Said UK defensive coordinator Brad White afterward, “You can’t let that happen. The Cats did let that happen. And by letting that happen, it was emblematic of a season that ended 7-6. Too many things that the Cats couldn’t let happen, did happen. Turnovers. Penalties. Missed blocks. Missed assignments. Missed opportunities. Mistakes. The mistakes that separate a win from a loss, that separate a good season from a disappointing one. Faithful followers of Kentucky football already knew that Barion Brown was a star, but the sophomore wide receiver took it to another level on Friday. The Nashville native scored a touchdown just about every way you can score a touchdown, with the possible exception of throwing a pass for a TD. In the first quarter, Brown scored on a 22-yard run to give Kentucky a 7-3 lead. Then to open the second half, Brown returned the Clemson kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown - his third kickoff return touchdown of the season and second in consecutive games - to give the Cats a 14-10 lead. Last but not least, he caught 60-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Devin Leary to give UK a 28-27 lead with 6:12 remaining. Brown ended up with 226 all-purpose yards on the afternoon - 100 for the kickoff return; 26 yards rushing on two attempts and 100 yards receiving on three catch. In the end, Brown was left holding the Kentucky’s most valuable player trophy in a losing cause. Still, it was a stellar performance from a player that, in this day of the transfer portal, Kentucky must hold onto for next season. 🏈🏈🏈

No dog in this fight. This has to be the best bowl game so far this season.
Great game & comeback by Clemson.gotta give them props. Not good for us SEC homers starting out 0-2 in bowl games smh. We’ll see tonight if Mizzou lets us down as well😂😂😂
Mizzou did not let you down...
For Stoops, this is worse than being blown out. To be up double figures and blow the game with repeated forth-quarter turnovers means Kentucky, and specifically Leary, self-destructed. That's going to make for a very long offseason.
Teach his kids to concentrate on football instead of choreographed TD celebrations
cal and stoops imo should be gone summer 2024
if cal can’t get to the sweet 16 with THIS roster, that’s the last straw
@@GoatedAtNFS Stoops should be gone? He built UK football. He's far and away the most successful coach in 70 years. Multiple 10-win seasons. Doing this all while the SEC is tougher than it has ever been in the history of the conference.
@@williamhauser3686 we only have one ten win season under him in the regular season that doesn’t include the bowl season so let’s get that right. he set the bar and never exceeded it. so time to find a new coach.

Another ACC team beats a SEC team.
Yes a top tier acc program survived and required an insane comeback vs a mid teir at best sec team. Not to mention its the same mid teir sec team that beat technically the 2nd best team in the acc, but see what you want to see... perspective.

No matter how good or bad the Cats are, they ALWAYS seem to give Clemson fits.
KY found a way to snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory. Great game and good late drive by Clemson. Barion Brown is a beast.
The refs missed two face mask penalties on Klubnik and the very clear launch to target Stellato.
Felt like I was the only one that saw that. Gotta laugh at Kentucky- beware the team that acts like they scored the game winner in the first half 😂

B. Brown told that Center Judge after his kickoff return for TD, "Nah, man, this ball is mine. I'm keeping it."
Antonio Williams was clutch towards the end. Awesome final drive to cap the W
Incredible game from both teams. Defense dominated for most of the game. But both offense showed up at the end.
17:45. The QB should be Scorned for throwing that.
Bad decision got your wr killed,
And a bad throw made it pointless.😂
That was well coached game shot to Clemson great win
That pass at 8:12 is such a difficult pass, with that coverage. Excellent throwing technique.

Let’s face it. The SEC is short for alabama
And ur basing this off A&M and Kentucky 😂
@@spazracer99of course
@@spazracer99 looking at the whole season 😂 SEC is overrated. 1 team has been consistent since 2010 in the sec

Clubnicks best game by far!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good. Put Kentucky in their place.
UK dline was sacking Klubnik all day, and the last seconds of the game they have clemson on a 3rd and long and decided to rush 3 prevent defense? Man that was a huge mistake. Ntm the 4 turnovers in the 4 th quarter to give Clemson chance after chance to come back. Was a heck of a game though, but i think UK might be alot better next season than people may think.
Thank God Clemson Win🧡💜
Entertaining high scoring game between Clemson and Kentucky!
this was a good bowl game out of all so far wow
I was at this game. Bout it was intense that second half especially the 4th quarter. My first Clemson game
Great TD on a KO, 1 endzone to the other 😊
Not as good as Canada (being under 100 yards) but still impressive. Well done! 😮

Fantastic game, both teams played with a ton of heart. I'm gonna look for #7 for my fantasy teams, Brown looked like Deebo Samuel out there. Clemson fought to overcome O-line and secondary absences, Kentucky fought to overcome turnovers, both teams put on a show in the fourth but the Tigers had the ball last. Love that we won but Kentucky shouldn't hang their heads after this performance.
I can't believe the Tigers almost lost this
Given how our entire secondary was freshman and had significant opt outs and transfers, it was great to see the Tigers pull it out
They should have lost
@@mrdemonictaco5879 that's why they're called miracles
I called the last UK play, I said “throw it to #2”. Obviously some guys got torched today but remember the wake game when Wiggins had a tough game but made the last play of the game and went on to become a 1st rounder (🤞 )
Seems like we play Clemson every year used to be in the music city bowl but weve come along way as a team. Turnovers killed us this game. Was a nice 1 though instead of those blowouts like alot of bowl games

I recently had a dream we played Clemson in the CFP for 24 and Clemson got revenge for the 22 Orange Bowl. I hope that's not how it goes IRL. Crazy game here. So entertaining. UK shoulda won this just 4 turnovers was too much.
Our Freshmen DBs were EXPOSED to say it mildly. Shelton Lewis and Avion Terrell have A LOT TO LEARN. They were cooked WELL DONE, the whole game. It reminded me of the 2022 season.
@espn could you please stop giving away who wins in the thumbnail??!?!? Some of us can't watch the game real time and it would be great to be able to watch the highlights without knowing who won.
Stoops was gone, sitting on a plane in Texas until he wasn't wanted by A&M boosters and had to crawl back. Now he makes the DC play prevent at the end and lose the game. Kentucky fans should seriously wonder just how loyal your coach really is.
