Got mine yesterday and that display is absolutely gorgeous
Got my M4 iPad Pro 13-Inch yesterday and godfuckingdamn this thing is the most beautiful incredible piece of technology I have ever seen. That screen is eye melting that keyboard is just exactly a laptop with a great keyboard and premium look. That pencil is nice as well and ofcours the power of M4 to run anything. I’m so impressed and so happy I bought this expensive thing… but it’s sooo worth the price. I recommend anyone that is in doubt to buy this thing, you wont be disappointed!!
but unfortunately it's not a laptop.. and if someone who cares for it as a tool than it's no better than my m1 ipad. all these nice things you mention are just cosmetic and doesn't make any difference if you just wanna get work done on an ipad and at that price, you might as well get a mbp. IMO it's not worth the price as you can get the same workflow with $800+ less
In terms of design, it might be the best-looking computer. However, I still cannot replace my MacBook. I just hope MacBook gets OLED
Total agree with the other comments. I have an iPad Air and use it more than any of my other Apple products but only for content consumption. I couldn’t work on it. When I try it just drives me crazy. I need a proper filing system. I don’t work remotely so my main workhorse is the M2 Ultra Mac Studio. Still think MacOS could do with a Snow Leopard type release where they really polish some of the things the haven’t been great and the OS for years.
@@techtipsuk no proper filing system, input delay from the trackpad, cant use it comfortably on a lap since the ipad weight doesnt balance and topple over, no terminal, battery doesnt last a whole day etc. seriously, why are people kept saying this device is worth it?
Until this M4 thing or anything after it runs Mac OS, i will be sticking with my M1 Pro.
I liked your video on the new iPad Pro and so glad I have ordered this and the Magic Keyboard which should arrive this Saturday. No doubt I will want the new Apple Pencil too as my old one isn’t going to work by the sound of it. I look forward to any further videos you do. ❤
I just got mine yesterday. It is very similar to the M1/M2 but i see them being able to do amazing things with updates. The thing is crazy fast and powerful. Its beyond imaginable

I received my M4 iPad Pro yesterday, I throughly enjoy it, but one thing that sticks out is the bezels…they seem so big! I wish they would shrink those bezels! The new Magic Keyboard is awesome. Coming from a 2018 iPad Pro, the new M4 iPad and keyboard much lighter.
The bezels are huge!
The bezels are appropriate for the size of your fingers to hold the pad.
Do you have the 11 or 13?

I went from the 11” to the 13”, I love it so far.
Got the 11 inch pro and my old budget pencil (Penoval) worked flawlessly.

I’m still very happy with my 2021 M1 iPad Pro, but I hope to get this M4 iPad Pro later this year.
I received my 13 inch M4 iPad Pro 2 days ago and wow it is super fast compared to my M1 iPad Pro 12.9. Both tablets have 16 gigs of RAM and 1 terabyte of storage. I spend all day on my iPad Pro in the office working editing raw image files in Lightroom and photoshop. I'm so much quicker on my iPad Pro then using a PC. And this new M4 has a beautiful new screen the new Apple Pro pencil I'm getting used to the little extra features that come with it but it feels like the other one but the lag time is like nothing. So that's good. But I could care less if it's thinner but it does fit into my M1 iPad Pro case. I did buy a new case but it's not as good as the one I had already so I tried it out and it fits pretty good. It's a hair loose inside of it but I know it will never fall out of it I am super happy with how much faster everything imports and exports out of the Lightroom and photoshop on the new m4. I did a test between both tablets with 10 gigs of the same image files and the M4 was 2 minutes and 20 seconds to 3 minutes and 30 seconds faster than the M1. I don't know if it's much of a difference on the M2 iPad Pro but if you have an M1 you will definitely see the difference. And I could care less if it don't have Mac OS or whatever everybody's was hoping for but I am happy with my purchase and back to editing

I’ve got an iPad Air, few years old and this is first time I’m tempted to upgrade. On a side note, what is the ring you wear, is it an activity one?
Hi Mark, you got something wrong with the brightness at 5:50, yes there both get up of peak brightness HDR to 1600 nits, BUT the M4 Oled Ipad Pro can get with normal SDR to 1000 nits, the M1/M2 is at 600 nits, that answers your question at 6:04 why the OLED looks brighter :)
I have a M1 iPad Pro and didn’t think it would be worth upgrading it, but I’m starting to lean towards getting this one.
The new oled screen makes it completely worth it, just picked it up from the apple store. The screen is gorgeous. Also upgrading from the m2 iPad Pro 12.9

I haven’t got an iPad currently but am thinking of buying the iPad Pro because of the amazing display + it’s the newest and best ofcourse. What do you guys think, should I buy it?
Unpopular opinion:
People keep talking about the M4 being overpowered for the OS, but last I checked, my OS wasn’t what was sucking down the CPU cycles on my MBP. It’s things like rendering multiple streams of 4K video. Also, I suspect there’s going to be a lot of on-device AI language processing at play.
I get it. People want MacOS. It would turn the iPad into a Surface, which is nice. But that’s not a matter of power. The OS isn’t stopping you from using its power. The use is. And if you’re using FCP2 with multiple hour-long 4K streams… you’re using the power. The OS is irrelevant.
That's a very weird way of looking at it. The point is that the power of the chip can't be utilised to its fullest because of OS limitations. Good if you can have multiple 4K streams of footage running in FCP on the iPad, but what good does it do if the Files app can't even reliably copy said footage from a NAS to the device? What good does it do if rendering just crashes when switching to another app? These are just a few of iPad OS's downfalls, IF the app you need is even available for iPad OS in a form that's not completely crippled compared to the desktop version. So no, the iPad isn't overpowered because the OS doesn't suck more power, but because the OS heavily restricts on how you can use that power. Obviously.

Thanks for those first impressions. I’d be interested in knowing which tier you went with. I went for the 13” 512GB, but am now tempted to return it and swap it out for the 1TB. I do some video editing/content creation and whilst initial benchmarking (MaxTech) suggests that the differential between the 9 and 10 core CPU is minimal, I do worry that WWDC may change that…. and then I’ll end up regretting not spending that extra… But £400 is one hell of an upgrade on an iPad.
I decided to go with the 1tb over the 512gb also. Not only do you get that extra core for 10 instead of 9. But the 1tb and above versions come with 16gb of ram speed instead of 8gb in the 512gb and lower models. That extra 8gb of ram is going to make a big difference in the future for iPadOS updates. Not to mention if they ever decide to release MacOS for iPad
Think about all the “pro” apps that ran well on the M1 8Gb MacBook Air. You’re talking about loading an iPad with a bunch of RAM it’s probably never going to need. The M4 chip w/ 16Gb is MacBook Air territory especially if you are talking about running Mac OS. The iPad Pro and MacBook Air both won’t survive in that space.

I use an M1 MacBook Air to edit on Garage Band a simple audio only podcast - what upgrade path should I take? M3 MacBook Air or M4 iPad Pro?
I think tilt on the keyboard is to accommodate the row of function keys to make them visible.
Hi Mark, can’t wait for your review of the M4 IPad Pro!! ❤ I’ve got mine and I love it…. trying to hold out on buying the keyboard case for now, as funds are low. Almost $2200 for my pro with the nano textured screen. I love that texture screen. It makes a world a difference when scrolling and writing with the new pencil. At this rate I’m never gonna make it to England. I have to stop going to the Apple Store.
Is the keyboard still heavy? How does it compare to the old one?
I'm really interested in your review of this iPad. I recently bought the M3 Macbook Air to replacy my 5-year old intel Macbook. I think we have to wait for WWDC for a improved iPadOS to become the laptop replacer, because I doubted to make the switch to the iPad instead of the M3 Macbook Air. Funny thins is that i was using my Macbook and my sister started touching the screen, because she thought is has a touchscreen. Hilarious!

The iPad Pro with M4 got a lot of hype. So I took a trip to the Apple Store to try it out. The computer was a dream, the display is absolutely gorgeous, the whole thing is so thin, the Magic Keyboard is premium and finally "functional". The Apple Pencil is honestly really convenient and fun to use with all the new features.
However, I doesn't have Xcode, and some of the apps that I use lack basic functionality on the iPad. It doesn't have a terminal, no VS Code. Logic and Final Cut are fun but I still feel like I am missing out on features from the Mac version which I have paid for (no subscription needed).
It has an M4 chip and if I get at least 1TB, I get the unbinned chip and 16GB of RAM, which is powerful but probably not enough for me who is planning to get the M3/M4 Pro with 36GB of RAM.
The apps and software are still lacking and window and file management on iPad is still frustrating even if you master it. Keyboard shortcuts are still laggy and iPadOS is just a more buggy OS compared to macOS.
After using the new iPad Pro, I actually think that all people want is a MacBook with Apple Pencil Pro and a touch screen. Or maybe if you fold your MacBook over (don't do this at home), it turns into iPadOS? That is the dream laptop but Apple won't do it. I am fine with Apple's current approach to the iPad and I believe iPad fans will continue to buy it but I won't. I will stick with my old iPad and focus on upgrading my MacBook instead. I am using an M2 Air now and it is ridiculously slow in Xcode, Final Cut, and Logic.
The argument of whether merging the 2 devices is a good thing has been around for years but honestly, Apple's current approach is the best for the company and owning both devices separately has its merits despite its high price
I use the iPad Pro 12.9" for six years as my "daily driver". What I find most annoying is that when you start to type in one window, such as forward a picture from Photos, then switch to another app to look something up, and you return, you start from scratch. Anything you typed is gone. Jobs like crafting emails, that need various attachments, and the human to look up and carry information together from various places (such as spreadsheets, browser, PDF reader, notes, etc), are almost impossible to do. Ergo, I consume on the iPad, but be productive and creative on my Mac Book.
Question 2. Pro worth the extra over the Air. ? I have a Air 3 years old and it was screen update I wanted. But New Air is M2 and super powerful. And cheaper. Screen challenge !
I have it, the display is amazing. Just so stunning and beautiful. It makes it so worth it.

2 questions please Mark: 1: Did you get the cellular version? With Apple moving to eSIM I think things are a little more difficulty here in the UK, and 2: Do you bother with screen protectors? I have used them in the past but don’t think I’ll bother this time? Thanks.
Vodafone and o2 support eSIM in the UK - Vodafone charge about £7 extra a month to get an eSIM for your iPad that shares the data allowance with your main plan.
@@DanielHarrisCodes The last cellular iPad I had I was able to buy a £35 sim from 3 that would last 2 years. I don’t want a monthly price plan. Just something to have as a backup.
So I have always used Android, And Galaxy phones, I now have the s24Ultra.
But I have not had a tablet, but seeing the latest iPad pro, I'm falling in love with it. I have never used Apple, so it will ve a whole new learning experience for me I guess, but should I get it , or just stick to my phone. I think I would use it fir Web surfing, social media, photo editing in lightroom.
S9 ultra is a better package overall.
This iPad won’t do much more in real terms than your S24 Ultra running DeX.

Watching this on my 2020 iPad Pro and the video quality is excellent. I also use my iPad for the occasional email and a bit of browsing. Cańt see myself upgrading until my device breaks….
I hope my pre M1 never breaks as I have no plans on dropping it.
I have 2TB and 4TB drives hooked up to my current 27" Intel iMac and my 21" M1 iMac.
Can I hook up my drives to the iPad?
You could do this for a long time, came with iOS 13 I believe.
Will 250 be enough storage ? Maybe you should have got the 2TB and future proofed it ?
I store so little on my iPads, to be honest - it’s plenty!
Going to 1TB gets another performance core and 16GB of RAM instead of 8Gb. That’s what I went with. The more the better when doing 3D models and video editing.

Looks great and is tempting, but for me it’s not the device, it’s the OS. Is there an eraser option that pops up when you squeeze the pencil? I’ve always hated the double tap to change from write to erase. First, it looks ridiculous, secondly, for me it was quicker and more reliable to just move to the top of the screen and select the eraser than to double tap.
It looks so good. But All I want is the desktop version of Chrome browser on iPadOS so that I could use the plugins. And I know it's pointless to make wishes to Apple. 😂

No, you can’t. I just went back to my wife’s to see and there’s no indication of any bump or whatever. There’s no way Apple would allow that. The slight dent in folding smartphone screens is a major reason Apple hasn’t come out with one yet.
The forward inclination of the previous Magic Keyboard is actually very useful if U watch Netflix laying down in bed!
My only concern is, is it really worth upgrading from 512gb to 1Tb for that 16gb ram and nano glass ?? And is there a noticeable difference in them ?
If you have to ask, the answer is 'no'. And as for the glass, how is it better than Paperlike? That's what I am interested in finding out.

IMO the new white/silver Magic Keyboard doesn’t look as good as the old white one but that’s obviously personal preference. I wish they’d put F1,F2 labels etc on the Magic Keyboard too. The fact they haven’t indicates to me they don’t see them as needed on the iPad still, so no software that you’d expect to need them like say a code editor.

It would appear from Jerryrigeverything that while the bend integrity is high on landscape bends…. Do it on portrait and the charge port is a massive weakness and it breaks… very easy. Be careful.
It’s definitely not a massive weakness with normal use. Jerry is a strong guy and he grips/bends it with his max force. There will not be any problems unless you are actively trying to demolish your iPad.
@@williamwallace410 I think 13 inch will be throw in bags with other stuff you have no idea how it will handle it yet in everyday users hands, so I don’t see how you can say anything yet, from my perspective, which obviously has come from seeing Jerry, he might be strong but he highlighted the charge port has the thinnest amount of material that could break with force. I’m not saying it’s iPadgate levels but it’s something to be mindful of.
@@TyKix I have seen the jerryrig video. It didn’t bend on his first attempt. It only got damaged when he really used his full force. There are lots of reviews out there and multiple people reported it being more rigid than iPads of previous years despite being thinner. You really don’t have to worry about putting it in bags with other stuff. Apple pays extra attention to this since “bendgate”.
Who bends there 1000plus $ iPad like that on a normal basis
@@williamwallace410I have zero fear of it bending if you actually care about your tech, I’m just stating that one way it has surprising amount of structural integrity with the central spine really holding it together, it’s the other way that “could” be its only weakness.
Great video Mark. New iPad Pro looks amazing. Ok I can live with no stickers in box as never know what to do with them anyway but come on Apple no 20W charger if they are caring about environment then why does everyone else across the world get one. Oh if they quote it’s the EU waste directive well big news Apple the UK isn’t in the EU.

@@exonorated5092 I'm thinking black. I have a silver MacBook after years of Space Grey. I like it, but something about the black is great. Also the silver Magic Keyboard reminds me of cheap Chinese knockoff keyboards

So… who’s ordered an M4 iPad Pro?
My wife and I did. My wife’s came in yesterday, the 15th. Mine won’t be here until the 23rd to the 31st. My fault. I helped her with hers before finished mine which set it back. Also hers is a 512 version and mine is the 1TB version with the nano glass. Actually, I don’t see much difference in the blacks between the M2 version and the new one. Also, my M2 now looks slightly magenta when compared to her M4, which looks slightly green when the two sit side by side. Neither look off by themselves. And yes, I compared them in reference mode to be sure. The new keyboard is really nice. Much better than my older model. The Apple Pencil pro’s new features work very well. But the rotate feature needs some skill to be effective. I can’t test speed until mine comes in though. Bummer.

I’m watching this on my new 13 inch iPad Pro 512gb it’s awesome the screen it’s incredible the blacks all around but in 4k hdr movies omg. Was watching the 2nd avatar with my jaw on the floor.
Can you use a mouse?
A Bluetooth mouse or the Apple trackpad that has the Bluetooth both work on the iPad.
I think the camera would be useful only to scan documents.
APPLE WHY U GETTIN RID OF UR USB C BRICK
So many people still droning on that the iPad needs MacOS, I disagree. There are things my MacBook can do that my iPad can’t and vice versa.
I would say everything in between they do pretty much on par and for the masses iPadOS can work as a standalone device.
It doesn’t for me, but I do way more with computers than most people who I know. Let’s not forget most people do most of their computing on their phones now.
The 2024 iPad Pro M4 is out. This is the 13" model. It has a gorgeous display and a powerful M4 chip. But you probably shouldn't buy it (with rare exceptions).
2:08 it’s not environmental stuff as much as they want you to think it is. They’re just trying to save an extra 2c per device
I was thrown off that my new iPad m4 can with a black braided charger.
What's the point of buying a new m4 ipad when its potential is not even used by a single application out there...we don't have much games on smartphones/tablets just a few like warzone, pubg m , codm , resident evil...so i would rather prefer a gaming laptop or a pc in that price range

The New iPad Pro is actually thinner than the Air, do we need an Air at this point 🤔 How about making the 9th Gen the SE, The OG iPad with the Air specs, the PRO, the thinnest lightest, best display iPad & of course the Mini. Is anyone buying the Mini anymore 🤔
The keyboard is unstable. You press the screen and the whole thing falls backwards.
Beautiful designed hardware and screen but not a computer witnout a multitasking OS and the screen aspect ratio is wrong for media consumption. Just a tablet with a pencil for artists.
Until they change the operating system to be more in line with Mac OS it’s just a big expensive slab of glass to surf the net and watch videos on!!!

Every year Apple releases a bunch of new hardware, and expects/hopes the people buy en masse. But let's be honest, most of it doesn't need to be on a 1 year cycle. I think it's fair to say Apple because of their sales strategy is somewhat responsible for creating a lot of extra e-waste every year. But they won't be including stickers anymore because they care about the environment, lol the irony.

For all the ‘iOS’ makes no sense to have the power of an M4 with ‘iOS’ - as an insider working on VisionPro and bringing FinalCut ‘Studio” to Spatial Computing …. all I can say is “Buckle Up” what is coming at WWDC and iOS/MacOS … I’ve said too much🤙🏼
