Spot on with the Genetx insole. True sent me the 9x4 as a warranty replacement for my cracked heel taking a clearing shot while reffing. After reffing 6 games straight I noticed the balls of my feet starting to hurt, I did 6 games with these and not a single issue. And like you said, the baking and forming around your feet is spot on.
Couldn’t wait for you video. Bought them already.
Question: Here in Canada, it is only $100 more for the full custom order skates. Is there a case to be made for getting these over customs, or is the custom route an easy choice if you don’t mind an extra $100???
Second this!!
True has a Source for Sports exclusive called Catalyst Arc. It's essentially this skate with some small things left put for only $649. They're insanely good value. Even have the Clarino liner.
@@jasonprice9823 thanks for the suggestion. I’ll check them out
How is the balance? Is it a neutral stance or forward leaning type of skate when on the ice?
Might have to pick up a pair of cat 9x4’s.
I feel like it will be a very similar fit transitioning out of my Mako m7’s
That I have had for years now, and seem to actually still some more life in them 😁
I'm interested in these but no one around me carries them yet. I'm currently in a Nexus 7.5D which fits great except for a sloppy heel. Bauer scan has me at a 7.5 Fit 3. The True foot scan app has me at a 7.5R, however I had a pair of TF7s in a wide and they were too narrow in the forefoot. Would this boot fit similar in width to the TF series?
A foot is naturally wide at the toe box. Shoes squeeze toes into a point.
My understanding is that they changed the naming this year so 7x4 is actually the equivalent to the catalyst 9s. I love my Cat 9s but i have swapped to Bauer holders and bauer speed plates. That has made them perfect.
They are hands down the best skate i've used in terms of comfort. I had Bauer 3x pros prior and they fell apart in less than 6 months.
I bought a second pair from hockey monkey when they went on clearance and my kids and Wife are now in True skates too.
How are the 7x4s? Would you choose them over the FT6s?
True skates are awesome, went from Bauer Custom to TF9, a huge upgrade. I am a bit worried by the toe caps on these, I have wide toes and you said there is less room.
I have pancake feet🤣. Super wide toes. No issues with their new insole 👍🏾
If you were to pour something into a true skate and let it harden, it would come out looking like a human foot. You can't say that for Bauer.
can you make a video about the diffrence between hyperlites 2 and true Catalyst 9x4 or hzrdus 9x. Or just the difference between bauer and True
Can you do a review of the nexus tracer
My question is when factoring price would you pick the CCM FT690's at a cost savings of $500 over the True?
New 7x4s are on the level of old 9x. 5x4 - level of old 7x. 9x4 are like old cat pro
Yes so the comparison to the cat 9 isn’t a fair comparison.
I picked up some cat 9s on clearance for $450.
How do these compare in sizing to the bauers/ccm? If you wear a 6 is it directly translatable?
You make it hard for me! Sitting with XF pros and I’m not as happy as you are to wear them… Makes my feet’s hurt.
9x4 sounds amazing, maybe a better fit or mold my XF again and pressure out the foot bed?
If you have wider feet I would move towards Bauer, they have a better fit system but worth going to a local store and try on as many pairs you can to be honest! True, CCM, Bauer, different lines, try em all on if you can!
Have you tried with superfeet, those insole resolved all my feet pain. I've try them in both ccm and bauer
@@Max-sn5kt I’m using the new insoles from Bauer , from scan.
Wow I have the hzrdus x9’s and they already have a few skates more comfortable?
When will you be posting a review of the Vapor X Shift Pro?
Are True skates still incredibly forward pitched? When I moved from True to CCM it was a hard adjustment, but now that I'm on a more neutral skate it made me realize how out of control I was on my Trues because of the super aggressive pitch.
Amen
Can you do a comparison between catalyst 5 and catalyst 3x4 skates
So I have a bunion type bump by my big toe. Vapors feel great OTHER than that spot, jetspeeds feel GOOD in that spot but pressure around the inside of ankle bone, tacks have WAY too much volume, and supremes kill the bottom of my feet. I guess I’ll bite the bullet and try these on tomorrow…..what do you think Chris?
Please come back and report on your experience with the cat 9x4’s in store, I’m curious 😅
@@JNunez7will do. I’m hopeful that even though true runs narrow by nature like the vapor, that the crazy thermo molding ability of the true will do what the vapor can’t. Which is relieve pressure around my big toe joint
@@JNunez7also to be fair I don’t really have a bunion, just a large big toe knuckle
Wow I just bought a custom svh today. Looks like the new 9x4s are the closest thing to their customs. They use the same neurofit + boot, insoles...
Ok so I recently went from old Tacks to a 2nd hand pair of Vapors (couldn't afford anything else at the time and it's just a stop gap). I am prefering the Vapors, think I skate better in them. So my conclusion from that is an agility skate is probably more complementary to my skating style. I've like the True stuff for a while but don't have a dealer near me which means I need to get online. So my question is: How accurate is their phone app for sizing? If anyone has a pair of skates that fit nicely would you be willing to try the app to get the app's sizing a let me know how accurate it is? Thanks.
Would like to see any comparison with the hyperlite 2’s 👍
Review the 3x4’s please 👍🏽
I need a new pair of skates, and I have a very high arch (have custom orthotics in my current skates). Cat 9x4 sounds like a home run to me
The Genetix insoles that come with the skates are “standard” not high-arch. Spend the $60 on the high-arch version. I hair bery high arches and needed to swap them. With the right insole, these feel like a comfy slipper.
@@joshuachilders1576 Will do. Thanks
@@canucksfan9332 so I have thin, wide feet with high, long arches. The insoles in the 9x4 were fine, but they're not long enough through the arch for me so I got some pressure mid-foot. It *might* be fine for you. It wasn't painful and I probably would've accepted it if I didn't already know how well the right insoles could fit. If it's easy for you to get replacements then I'd suggest trying the stock ones first. If you have to order from True and wait for shipping, I'd order the high-arch version. Side note, I have the OG Catalysts and a pair of HZRDUS. These new 9x4 are amazing skates.
How do these new cats compare to the hzrdus line?
In my opinion. Way, way better ! They are aimed at different skaters. This line suits me better
Can you do nexus tracer vs Proto r vs ribcore 9 pro vs hype2rlight
Man where is the videos on the xf70 80 and 90 all you do is top of the line why does nobody ever do videos on what most guys really buy?
Because no one asks for it
@@HockeyTutorialOfficialI’d like to see a comparison of these between the Catalyst 3x4’s. I made a comment on another video. You did a great job on the jetspeed one, with the ft670’s versus the ft6 pros. But I’d like to know the difference in trues. I’ve been very interested in it since they came out and there’s no info online. I simply can’t afford the top models. I’d love to see more lower end stuff.
@HockeyTutorialOfficial we are all waiting for it 😅
They do compare within models on various skates. Just not that specific ones you’ve pointed out. If you do some research you’ll be able to find those differences yourself. Or if you ask someone at the local hockey shop they should be able to explain the differences.
9x4 versus SVH next!
9x4 all the way.
Why@@Acyclistandhockeysnob
@@DD-jx9jd if you have abnormal feet say by having different size left and righ, sure go custom, but if you have normal feet. The 9x4 and the 7x4 are the best skates off the shelf period.
@Acyclistandhockeysnob but for a $100 more you are getting a custom skate for your feet. Seems better value to go custom.
@@DD-jx9jd the true Catalyst Pro and Hzrdus Pros are already a premade boot and they shape it to your foot scan and you can choose foam, color, tongue etc for $1199. The SVH is $1399 and they make the boot from the ground up with your foot scan. So if you want to spend $300 more for an actual custom boot with a wait time from 4-8 weeks, then sure. But I just skated on the 9x4 for 6 games in a row without any issue with pain etc.
Just when I thought the CAT 9's were the best... Looks like I need new skates.
Oh man, just ordered the ccm xf pros😅, now I have to re-evaluate😂.
Nah, the XF Pros are an amazing skate. I've been rocking them for a couple months now and teammates have actually commented that my skating has improved. You won't be disappointed man!
@@tetra19 thank you for your Feedback! Nice that you Like them. I myself am more of a Power Skater, but how agile are they? And i also took a Look at the weight, they are Kind of heavy, or doesnt that feel Like it. Also think that weight isnt that important anymore.
@@simonstambolski7849 Same, I'm more of a north/south skater but the compliments I got were actually on my turning haha. They're definitely stiff and there's a bit of an adjustment period. After 10-15 hours they're dialed in.
@@tetra19 nice, thanks!
Only thing I would be scared of is weight. Comparison of size 9 skates - True Catalyst 9X4 1013 g, CCM JetSpeed FT6 Pro 933 g, Bauer Hype2lite 840 g...
The skate is over a 1,000 grams and people still say GRAF is too heavy 🙄🙄
It's in the 700-800 gram mark
Ice warehouse list a size 9 at 1013 grams @@DD-jx9jd
@@DD-jx9jd ice warehouse says other wise
@@camangus8722 put it on scale. Bet you the scale says otherwise lol
@@DD-jx9jd seems silly they would publish the wrong weight
Please do a 9x4 vs 7x4 video
Dropping shortly. Maybe this coming week 🙏🏾

@@HockeyTutorialOfficial please, i need this comparison!🏒☺️ thanks
A set of XCBLADES in the 9X4 and you will fly!
Love True Skates, their sticks not so much though
Same. I have a True Cat 9x Stick and the internal foam in the blade tip is exposed after not many sessions. True TF9 skates are insanely good.
True customs vs 9x4
What’s the difference between the performance of the 9x4 skates vs the svh skates?
Please compare the 9x4 skates to the svh skates 🙏
