- Just a quick description, this is Marty showjumping recently :) every probably knows we've had a lot of difficulties in showjumping, him being uncareful, tanking round and me not having any control, i've been working on him and he has slowed down A LOT, still got stuff to work on as he still like to try take the bit and tank now and again but i am so pleased with how he is going atm!!
Got our first double clear in the 3ft and qualified for unaff Championships of Great Britain in August at Cricklands! :D which was my aim for this year and we did it!! (show gear, outdoor arena at Allenshill)
Also got a 4th in the 2ft9 (black top, evening showjumping, outdoor arena at Allenshill again)
And all the indoors are at Hartpury :) getting 8 faults in 2ft6 as he wasn't trying, 4faults in 2ft9, veeery unlucky pole and 4 faults in 3ft, we got bad stride :) mostly errors due to me not riding properly!! but like i said, VERY happy with him!
Showjumping really isn't his thing, he is a XC horse for sure! but i do want to event him and do the occasional bsja on him once we're ready! :) ODE NEXT SUNDAY, 17th!! AHHHH, SO excited!!
Didn't really edit much in this video, there you go beck ;) LOL!
thanks everyone!! P.S NO CRIT, Thanks!
also reached our record today ;) did our own mini puissance at an indoor arena i hired and we cleared 1m55!!!!! BEAST HORSE, biggest we've ever jumped! a raw video to hopefully come! :)
thankyou so so much! this has to be one of the nicest comments i've ever had! means a lot :) thankyou for your support! it's not been easy in the slightest but i think we're slowly finding our way now, lots to work on but seeing comments like this makes me more determined to achieve, thanks again :) x
the one thing i really appreciate about your riding is your feel, timing and give with your reins. i really loved and appreciated to see your reins moving loosely close to the bit but u stil had complete control over marty. that is amazing to see that you trust him as he trusts you while he keeps so calm and collected. im sure that he is not as nearly as easy to ride as you make it look cuz i kno people say the same about my barrel horse. keep up the good job luke!!!
You and Marty are probably the best horse and rider team I have ever seen. I have no words to describe it... Perfect maybe but something more. Your videos are amazing and so are your riding abilities! :)
This video is beautiful! you ride him so nicely and always look great what ever your doing. You have very much potential to go so far with him and achieve everything you want to. He looks like such an amazing horse and looks like you have put a lot of time and effort into him and its paid off. this is one truly amazing combination.
Aw I love seeing people give their horses lots of loving after a round! You can really tell how much you love him! :')
Due to your hard work and determination you have produced a star, I can't believe in such a short space how far this horse has come, he is a credit to you, I always kned you could do it and you have, big well done you should be so proud, what an amazing horse you own. :-)
You have done insane with Marty Luke, The change in him since you first got him in incredible, He is a completely different horse. You constantly bring out the best in him and he without a doubt tries his hardest for you the whole time. You should be extremely proud of yourself. You's are going to the very top, with all that cope and such a kind heart. Best of luck for the summer, Cannot wait to see how you both get on :-) xxx

Seriously Luke take so much more credit for what you've done with this horse, he's looking bloody brilliant! So collected and carefull, really waiting on the fence and then really making sure he gets himself out of the way as much as is realisticly possible haha! he's such a talented little horse in many aspects, but I would neverrrr have thought that when you first got him. He really is a changed horse and that's all down to you! Well done :) xxx

Luke I would say you've got a horse here with far more heart and scope than anyone would have first thought, and I think it would be fair to say thats mainly down to your schooling and hardwork. He really is a transformed horse.

You two are amazing! And, just one quick question, I know the one arena is Allens Hill but wheres the other one?
Marty careless? he's such a legend:) you ride him really well; he looks like a hard horse to ride, well done for qualifying for Cricklands :) and 1.55m ... wow! lol, you've did a really good job with him:) what age is he?
Amazing horse and rider oxox
You going to Sapey next weekend?
And he is looking so awesome now!! Come make Fletcher nice and calm like him please? :P xx
This horse has the potential to go further. He has the scope and the ability to go really far. Please don't take this is as crit but try and give in the air. Honestly it will help, he shouldn't have the poles then because he would be able to stretch over the jump. Good luck with him! :D
He is wonderful, you both are !!! A really great horse axualy you are a reall team I love it. What breed is he?

hes beautiful!
your a guy who rides, sooo cool :)
Go Marty and Luke! =D
P.S can't wait to see this puissance raw! :P xxxxxx
Wow 1.55m is almost as tall as me!
you need to grab mane when your in 2 point
Jchorselove we don't ride like that in this country
I know that this is extremely late, but grabbing mane when in 2 point is only one of many different releases that you can do when jumping. It is one of the easier releases to do, and it’s often used for newer jumpers so they won’t pull on the horses mouth while landing a jump. Once you get more experienced you do harder releases, such as just placing your hands on the horses crest and pushing down or not even touching the horses neck and putting you hands forward. Those are both more difficult releases, although the 2nd one is pretty advanced. You can do any of these. So what she was doing isn’t wrong, and is slightly more advanced.
Sorry if this is really long 😂
HOLY CRAP. I'm 1.55m lol! I'm sad you disabled the ratings, I kept trying to like it and youtube kept telling me off :L x
are you america?
Where did you get your martingale/breastplate ? I want it!!
