Horse Rider....
Used to upload all the time but as you can see I've finished with UA-cam now and horses all together which is a huge shame but focusing on different adventures. Thank you to everyone who has supported me through the years, it's been good.
I still watch all my subscriptions videos which I still enjoy keeping up to date with how your all going!

Pierre at Hartpury, 4 faults. Just a bit flat over the first fence. Not much experience recently and only our 2nd time competing since last winter! Pleased though. 16.1hh Belgium Warnblood 7yo.

On the 9th of june we took Marty to Sapey to do the ODE 100cm! Was such a long day but was so, so worth it! I couldn't be more pleased with the result. Was our 2nd ODE, and i know definitely know what we are aiming for! Just a quick raw of a small combination we did at Boomerang XC last saturday 13th april! He was so so so good! Shame the ground was DREADFUL! it was basically unrideable, well to risk and injurys anyway! so we only stuck to all weather jumps with take off and landing which was about 25% of the course, as you can see this is one of them! This was today 31/03/13 and this was the first time jumping him in like 2/3weeks as I never really jump him anymore! Jump him for 20minutes every 2/3weeks now! Well today josh instructed me instead of me instructing him all the time and he really, really helped me and Marty a lot! Well me and Marty went to Swalcliffe XC Hunter Trials in the 100cm a couple of weekend and came home with a 2nd!! He hasn't seen XC jumps since last summertime and he flew round and was insane! Came second by 0.5seconds! so just missed 1st place! And qualifing for The HorseWare National Horse Trial Championships in October! So proud of him! Reminds me of the first and only time I rode with the Radnor and West Herefordshire. It was a young mare belonging to someone else who wanted her to hunt but didn't want to go herself, never rode her before and she had never hunted before. It was a white knuckle ride, I was riding from the age of 11 and am BHS Stage 2 qualified but as soon as we moved off I realised I had no brakes. On the plus side she attacked everything I pointed at including my first 5-barred gate and somehow I stayed on but had to retire early because she was sweating so much. I am a keen supporter of country traditions and the place where I live is steeped in them. But... a few months ago some film footage emerged on hunt staff throwing a live cub to young hounds and I'm afraid that did it for me. Always loved horses, always will, and will gladly ride to hounds in a drag hunt but after seeing that I have turned my back on blood sports.

Replying to one tear old comment :D But some horses just do that and some riders say it is better because horse doesn't loose time overt the obstacle and is much quicker in speed rounds. Usually stronger horses don't need to stretch as much because they're easily able to jump high using only their strength.

I know that this is extremely late, but grabbing mane when in 2 point is only one of many different releases that you can do when jumping. It is one of the easier releases to do, and it’s often used for newer jumpers so they won’t pull on the horses mouth while landing a jump. Once you get more experienced you do harder releases, such as just placing your hands on the horses crest and pushing down or not even touching the horses neck and putting you hands forward. Those are both more difficult releases, although the 2nd one is pretty advanced. You can do any of these. So what she was doing isn’t wrong, and is slightly more advanced. Sorry if this is really long 😂
