As a proud Catholic, I’m constantly being accused of worshipping idols, told that Catholicism goes against the Bible, confession to a priest isn’t biblically based, etc.
I’m in love with my Catholic faith and will always defend Her teachings, but it gets old trying to educate people who refuse to accept the truth regardless of what I say.
God bless everyone ❤
That’s because those attacks were created by the devil himself. It’s nothing but the ideology some people (good people mostly, at least presumably) fell prey to: the devilish ideology of anti-Catholicism, so common in the Anglophone world but particularly in the USA and congenital to the Protestant revolution. From Brazil 🇧🇷 with love.
I'm also a proud Catholic. We do not worship any idols, we sometimes ask the Saints or Apostles to intercede for us, but never worship any Saint or Apostle. As far as confession go to John 20:26.
You are right, they constantly accuse but never listen to an explanation. Mostly, I politely inform them that they are incorrect and that if they really want to know what the Catholic church teaches they could read the Catechism. Everything is in there.
For the most part, I've learned to ignore them when I can. They just want to argue, and nothing I have ever said has changed their minds. Sad
@@StAlphonsusHasAPosse Sadly, that’s where I’m at, too.
It's like a branch looking at the trunk and saying, "You're not a tree!"
lol that was funny
I love it!

Exodus 20:
4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth
That is the second commandment. You don't obey it so you are idolaters
Ephesians 5:
20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
Mark 16:
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. --- clearly baptism alone does NOT SAVE. The belief in Jesus Christ is what saves!
Luke 4:
6 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.
7 If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.
8 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
John 14:
11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
Colossians 3:
17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
Jude 1:
24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
Matthew 7:
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
Now show me a single piece of scripture that says we are to pray to anyone other than God through Jesus Christ
@@Holy_Glaive Thanks for the comment! The verse from exodus is rightfully abolishing any worship of an image or idol in replacement of God. As Catholics, the statue/crucific/etc. all acts as a reminders, not as idols. We aren't worshiping the statue itself, but they act as sort of a reminder of who we worship. And, I think you should look into what the church officially teaches regarding Mary and the other saints before drawing such conclusions. We ask for Mary and others to pray for us, similar to how we would ask one another here on earth to pray for us. We believe there is one body of Christ and that we are all united whether that be on earth or in heaven. Jesus is Lord and He is Lord alone! I'm thankful you and I can agree on that! God bless!
I think the fact that the Church comes under so much attack is a sign of its authenticity.
Of course the devil would want to bring down our Lord's Church
That's like when the Pharisees accused Jesus that he was exorcising demons by Satan.
It's funny when God calls you out and you close your eyes about it right?
You are like the Galatians, thinking that you are perfected by works and not by faith, by the source of the light.
And that SS skull on your profile picture is also really biblical, right.
Correct, the devil wants to bring down the Lord's Church, that is why he leaves the Catholic church alone and many small evangelical assemblies are closing down. The devil looks after his own.
@@smeatonlighthouse4384 If you are trying to claim that the Catholic Church is the Devil's Church, you are no better than the Jews who accused Jesus of siding with Satan. Jesus accused them of blasphemy.
I pray that someday those who hate us will finally recognize us as believers in Christ.
🤔 Do you believe the gospel? 👀

1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

Catholicism is not a denomination. it is the common denominator - dcn harold
As a Protestant for the last 25 years I was DEFINITELY taught Catholics are not Christian!!! I'm here on this channel as well as The Counsel of Trent channel to understand more and learn.
Come to church on a Sunday with us. What do you have to fear? The Lord Jesus Christ is present in the Holy Eucharist. Read all of John 6. May the Holy Spirit light your journey ever more.
May the Holy Spirit guide you with love on your journey. Peace to you brother. God Bless. Jesus is Lord.

What a ridiculous question. Catholic was first Christian church built on the Rock of Peter
The real question is , is there anything Christian about the Bible .
My point is the whole book is about Israel . Gods covenants are only with Israel .
1 Peter 2 KJV ♥️
8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.
1 Corinthians 10 KJV
4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
Deuteronomy 32 KJV
4 He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.
This comment summarizes everything wrong with catholicism
I'm sorry, but NO, Catholicism came much later with the Romans...the only real example that mimics the very first Church established by Christ and His disciples is the non-denominational "Church of Christ" (not to be confused with the Mormons)
The Church of Christ today are small in numbers because since they're simple in nature, no thrills and frills and sing a-capella, they offer no entertainment value to the average human thats looking for a "rock concert" in a church, and thusly in comparison, they're small in number as is their memberships...so, when you hear the name "Church of Christ" only..not latter-day saints or church of christ in God...I'm talking only "Church of Christ" period!...those are the churches that truly and closest resemble the original Churches established by Christ...
@@AlexanderBrown77When reading 1 Corinthians 10:4 in context you'd have to concede the Eucharist is the body, blood, soul, and divinity of Christ. The same as the manna from Heaven. I don't understand what proof texting these Bible verses out of context proves. The one in 1 Peter was about Christ being the cornerstone and a stumbling block.
And in the Douay-Rheims translation, which is the earliest English translation of the Bible directly from the Latin Vulgate, it says nothing about rock or stone in Deuteronomy 32:4. I think it's dangerous to take a single translation and just look for the word rock or stone in a verse and think it means something it doesn't without the full context of the entire chapter.
Obligatory comment of praise for The Michael Gormley 😊

Here's a question....
Why are Evangelicals So hateful of Other Christians??
Pride
They have a lot of very public figures that teach lies about the Catholic Church. John MacAurthor being the first that comes to mind. I’ve yet to see a truthful statement from him in regard to the Catholic Church. There’s also a lot of other issues.
They need customers for their mega churches
I am a Presbyterian. I believe Catholics are my Christian brothers and sisters... I believe you are saved, just as much as a Presbyterian is.
The question I have is .. do you believe that I am saved?? Would you say I am a Christian?
It goes both ways.
And I believe that my communion is the transubstantiated body and blood of Christ
I don't know. It's astounding. I just came out of a non-denominational church at the start of this year. A lot of them think they're all that and a bag of chips. They are about 0.000000833% of Christianity worldwide. And if the church started at 6:00 AM this morning, they've been around for less than ten minutes.
Amen! My biggest concern is the constant attacks on my belief in Christ. Over and over, I keep hearing how we Catholics are nothing but idol loving imperialists. Truly appreciate you and your wonderful definition of Catholics being Christians. Thank you.

AND TWO DIFFERENT MARYs

As a Christian who isn’t a catholic Christian . I loved this so much I like to watch some of the videos on here . I love praying in Catholic church’s on the weekdays. I always knew Catholics were Christian I’m just saddened to see that some people won’t educate themselves. I pray that some reach this video and realize we are one in Jesus eyes ❤️ and that one day we will all be able to praise him together .

Awesome. Well done!
What a silly question. Thank you for setting the record straight.

I feel so blessed to be catholic 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
"Wherever the bishop shall appear, there let the multitude [of the people] also be; even as, wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church". Saint Ignatius 107A.D
That is a very US-American question to ask honestly. Even the most zealous protestant in Europe would acknowledge Catholics are indeed Christians. It's more of a question of who is the "heretic" and who isn't.
When Jesus ascended into heaven in 33AD, he left a church with no writings or book - a group of 12 men with one having primacy. This church, the Catholic Church, with authority given to it directly from Jesus, is mentioned in the Book of Acts during the Council of Jerusalem in 49AD. The nascent hierarchy and structure of the church is described and the word Catholic Church first appears in writing in 107AD. The church dogmatised the Trinity in 325AD but was formulated by the Catholic Church in preceding centuries. The authority of the Catholic Church canonised the Bible in 397AD, predating Prots by over 1,100 years. Only the Catholic Church has the sole divine authority to interpret it for Christian doctrine. You are most welcome to read it but you do not have the authority from Jesus to create your own Christian doctrine or to revise history. Catholicism is the one and only true Christianity with the fullness of the truth intended for us by Jesus.

Amen

@@Holy_Glaive All you’ve done is machine gun Bible verses you have absolutely no clue about. Now show me a single piece of scripture that says to listen to a German guy in the 16th century and invent tens of thousands of new false religions?
Of course we’re Christians. What else would we be?
Invert the question: what makes you assume Protestants are Christian, given their centuries-long opposition to the One True Church founded by Jesus Christ upon St. Peter and his successors?
I can give you one Anglican's perspective on the matter. As we all know, the Lord Jesus Christ founded his church on St. Peter. Now a very unique trait of this apostle is that he was by far the most corrected of the apostles, being referred to as Satan by Christ himself, and also being rebuked by St. Paul for two-faced behavior when it came to sharing the table with Gentiles. And of course, he denied the Lord three separate times, yet immediately after repented and corrected himself.
So what is to be taken of this? Well, St. Peter, despite being the foundation of the Church, was obviously not infallible. And neither are his successors. Pope Leo X was obviously erring with the sale of indulgences. Essentially, this was an exchange: A party wishing to commit premeditated sin could do so by helping satisfy the Vatican's desire for money.
This is contrary to the entire summary of how God sees sin. And the Pope cannot establish Tradition against Scripture anymore than a house divided against itself can stand. One of these two had to give way and the Protestants chose to side with Scripture.
In any event, I am very thankful that Anglicanism sought to keep as much as was Scripturally possible from Catholic tradition. And now that the issue of indulgences has been long since settled, it is my sincere desire that the Global Anglican Futures Conference can put away the practice of ordaining women and enter into some form of Communion with Rome. These talks are ongoing, however, I expect the Vatican to reject such a thing while GAFCON still ordains women, and I would question Rome's judgment if they accepted us while we still did this.
Church Fathers would not have considered Protestantism to be Christian.
Not true @@fantasia55
@DeeAnderson-oj2hr Church Fathers said anyone who denied the Eucharist being the Body and Blood of Jesus or was not under the authority of an apostolic succession bishop was not a Christian.
@@WilliamSwartzendruberFriend, Peter absolutely was infallible - at times - just as the Catholic Church believes of the pope. As evidence check out his two epistles. You will find them near the end of your Bible.
I see Gomer, I click. 🎉
Who is gomer
@@bweatherman3345 Gomer is Michael Gormley's longstanding nickname.
Ever since the Protestants left the Church Jesus and His Apostles established, they have only become more confused and less and less unified. Why can’t they see they left Christs’ Church and are lost to the doctrines of men? Unfortunate. I’m truly sorry for them and will pay for their souls.
Thanks for this, as an evangelical (I don't like to call myself a protestant, I'm not protesting against anything. That was for the time of Luther).
It's good to clarify these things and I saved this video. For myself, I don't subscribe to "faith alone" as a "ticket that you bought when you prayed the sinners prayer and now you can do anything you like". Many Catholics seem to think that protestants have that mindset but its only a few fringe groups. A true Christian is "working out his salvation with fear and trembling". Not taking the grace of salvation for granted, fighting the battle against sin daily, dying daily to the old self and crying out God for forgiveness. Also doing the good works that we are called to do. That is clear throughout scripture. For us, it's not "earning our salvation", it's "living in newness of life BECAUSE we are saved".
Im happy to see that you didn't moan at protestants for believing the bible alone or say we aren't Christians because the RC is "the one true church". Protestants just don't trust anything else and that's the way I live.
But we are all saved through Christ.
God bless you, man
I become sad for American Christianity when I realize that many of them don't acknowledge the primary, main, and foundational denomination as "Christian". It is much like walking up to the foundation of your house, saying, "I don't need this," and taking a jackhammer to it.
Catholicism is the true religion.
Love this!
You go, Gomer. Yes!!
I am newly born again. I consider myself non-denominational Protestant for now. I just finished reading the New Testament on my own. I really don't understand how anyone can read the bible and conclude that Catholics are NOT Christians?
I'm a former atheist and former protestant. By God's Grace I entered the Catholic Church about two years ago, and I have to say it really is the fullness of the faith and the church that Christ established. Protestantism for it to be true requires the Catholic faith to be wrong, but I discovered for myself that protestantism doesn't withstand scrutiny the way Catholicism does. The way Catholicism fulfills the old testament and the actual history of the church with the early church fathers. How the new testament was written and formed, and how diving into the Bible actually brought me to the Catholic Church. Context is key, and the proper context of the Bible and Christianity is found in the Catholic Church. I discovered many protestant dilemmas and I even found Protestants reasoning like atheists to justify their denial of the Catholic faith. I've been truly set free by Christ through his Church. There's nothing like it in this world. I encourage you to look into the Catholic Church. Also, the work by Dr. Scott Hahn was very helpful in my personal investigation. He's written and talked a lot on addressing the issues that protestants have with the Catholic Church.
Also, The Catholic Church put together The Bible 2000 years ago

" Are Catholics Christian?"
Strange how Evangelicals go after Catholics but remain silent about
Mormons
Jehovah Witnesses
Scientology.....
All children of the brick laying people.
Eh, I was raised Evangelical. Catholics were always the giant group over there praying to Mary. But the Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses were outright heretics and probably not entering the Kingdom of Heaven.
I was raised reformed evangelical and am Catholic now. I've never believed Mormons, JWs, or Scientologists were Christian.
They don’t remain silent on those other groups. Evangelicals do not consider JW’s or Mormons to be Christian.

We don't ask if Protestants are Christian. Not that we should. But we don't.
Perhaps we should. Perhaps we should start with those who reject the Niceno-Constantinopolitan Creed
@@saldol9862when I was Protestant I already considered anyone who rejected the creed to not be Christian. That’s like baseline parameters for the faith.
@@countryboyred The self identified protestants that consider themselves non-credal concern me since the creeds were formulated with scripture as a basis and it signifies an aversion to any association with church history or proper adherence to orthodoxy

Yep, Protestants constantly try to evangelize Catholics. It's infuriating.
I am Anglican and one of my non-denominational friends seemed to see Catholics and Christians as two different groups.
@@WilliamSwartzendruber Very odd. I'm Anglican and it never crossed my mind that Roman Catholics are somehow less Christian. It is actually rather offensive. Perhaps the confusion only exists in the United States.
@@noahbrock349 I would imagine it's predominately an American thing.
I showed the picture of Mary and Jesus (the one with the Immaculate heart and Sacred heart) to the Protestant teacher and asked why they do not have images of Jesus or Mary. He said the images showed Jesus and Mary is on the same level. But it is not. So it is wrong to put Mary in the same place as Jesus. Then I said something about Mary receiving the crown of heaven, but then he said it is in the bible but he is not convinced that it is Mary..
I did not know what to say..

I think an issue every major religion, be it catholic, orthodox, LDS, JW or others can't skirt around is how christian their organizations and cultures are. I give credit to the Catholic church for tolerating mystics (with the exception of Michael Molinos) because it is the mystics of every religion that ultimately get it right.

We are not saved BY good works. We are saved to DO good works. Our faith saves us--but certainly not to live for ourselves--as we are to love and serve God and others. A Protestant response. Sorry pal but this is a purely Roman take. Historic Protestant theological formularies teach that Christ established only one church namely the Holy Catholic Church but this reality is not synonymous with the Christian communion headed by the pope. Historic Protestantism teaches the absolute necessity of God’s grace in both justification and sanctification. It also teaches the absolute necessity of good works because without them saving faith is not present. Historic Protestantism knows nothing of the sinners prayer. Historic Protestantism teaches that the sacraments are a means of sanctifying grace and reject the sectarian notion that Protestants don’t have valid ordinations or sacraments as is taught by Rome.
I don’t like how it is commercialized.
Catholicism or Protestantism? That second one is commercialized to no utter end.
There's one thing most bible readers fail to note in the scripture where the word "Christian' was mentioned. The verse states "...in Antioch..they were called Christians.."
Notice, they did not call themselves "Christians" , but rather 'they were called' as such.
That was the time when they were persecuted, and the persecutors coined the term for them which had a negative implication. Much like when a certain group is categorized as terrorist today. In those days, crimes were leveled against the early followers of Christ, the most notable is the burning of Rome. Fast forward to the future, Christ's followers just accepted what has been tagged on them and the term Christians' become their identity.
So the bottom line, did the apostles and their successors called themselves 'Christians"?
Yes
The original Christian's
"We don't pray the sinners prayer, and that's it." I think pride is your biggest problem. You are misrepresenting this position but you dont care. Keep believing in what you believe in, and we will do the same.
Are there Christians outside the CC? The answer is yes because like you rightfully said.... We are saved by grace through faith in Christ Jesus.
It's the Protestant Revolution. 😉
Wrong sir this is what makes a Christian (Roman 3:21-25 KJV):
21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ (not your faith but HIS) unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God:
What makes us Christian is not th acknowledgment of the Trinity, but recognizing that Christ BECAME SIN to redeem us and his blood is the propitiation (purchased our salvation by bloodshed) ending a need for sacrifice, he is the HIGH priest, the final sacrifice. Then u must believe he ressurrected, conquering that very sin (ours) that placed him in grave......"BUT GOD" raised him to all power being in his hand, then (Eph1:13) now we/im sealed by the Holy Spirit. This is what makes me a Christian. Oh, and we are all Saints per Paul (1 Cor.1:2)
You are certainly welcome to believe and profess whatever you want to believe, there are plenty of differing beliefs in the world today based on the Bible, just pick one. But to glean this from the historically decidedly Catholic Trinitarian book is just plain frivolous…
History shows us that Jesus didn't leave us a bible, - the apostles didn't tell us which books belong in the bible, - the church fathers never agreed on the 27 books, and ONLY the 27 books of the NT through the 4th century, - not only did they not agree but their individual lists of would-be NT canons were GROWING during this time.
Therefore, if it wasn't the Catholic/Orthodox church, guided by the Holy Spirit, that compiled the 27 books of the NT in the 4th century, just 65 years AFTER the council of Nicaea which began the Trinitarian doctrine and subsequent councils of Ephesus and Chalcedon, and preserved these scriptures by laboriously hand copying them over and over throughout the centuries before the invention of the printing press, the “rule of faith” for many, please tell us who did? And if this church no longer exists today, what good is the text which came forth from her if she couldn't sustain herself?
Dude said some good things until it got weird with the Queen mother gibberish
How is that weird or gibberish?
@ because there is no “queen mother.” There are only “spiritual mothers” (plural). Mark 3:35 For WHOSOEVER shall DO THE WILL of GOD, the same is my brother, and my sister, and MOTHER.
@@danielvargas9100 Mary is the mother of Jesus. The King. The mother of the king is queen mother. Pretty straightforward.
If you look at Revelation chapter 12, you will see there is a woman in heaven that gave birth to the messiah. The woman is seen wearing a crown.
Who gave birth to the messiah?
What kind if woman wears a crown?
@ A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of TWELVE STARS on her HEAD. 2 She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth. (This whole chapter is about Israel). Israel is the woman with 12 stars (12 tribes of Israel). Most of the book of Revelation is about the nation of Israel.
@ read the ENTIRE CHAPTER 12. It has nothing to do with Mary….
Is Michael Catholic?
Protestants who dare to read about early Christianity are stunned by how Catholic it was.

You have been lied to if you believe that we Christians don't believe in the Trinity. I have no idea what is going on with you.
Cut the video, cut again, and then again, and that’s why we are Roman Catholics…
Know God and know Jesus individually:
Jesus and the Father are one, but how exactly are they one? They are one in spirit and in truth, and we are to become one even as they are one (John 17:21-23). In order to have salvation, we must know the Father for who he is personally; the same is true of the Son. *_Knowing Jesus without knowing the Father is not salvation._* We must know God [the Father] by having a relationship with Him: through meeting, talking, praying, and spending time with Him and understanding who He truly is. We must do the same to Jesus: through honoring and abiding in the words he has told us and the actions he has shown us from God. The word *know* has a lot of meaning; Jesus said to his Father “and this is life eternal that they might *KNOW* you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.” We must know that the only true God is the Father _alone;_ only then can we become His family. God will not accept strangers (Matthew 7:21-23).
@OHCA-p5c I do not know what this means.
@OHCA-p5c The Holy Spirit is sent by the Father in the name of Jesus Christ to teach us all things and bring to our remembrance what has already been written in our hearts (John 14:26).
The Holy Spirit is the one who searches for the answers of the deep things of God (1 Corinthians 2:10). Again, the Holy Spirit is not God Himself, but he is the one sent to us to tell us the truth of the gospel as evidenced through Christ.
Gomer is the best!!!
I caught heck for posting this video. Person even made the argument that us saying we are THE Catholic church is like saying all Jews are Christians because Jesus was a Jew. He'll just have to get over it I suppose.

Great man
Erick Erickson ( @ewerickson ) says Catholics are Christians.
"They worship the same Jesus as you and me they just do it different" - Erick (Ecumenical) Erickson (11/12/24)
Really, Erick?
"[They] just do it different..." He must be referring to the "Worship of the Eucharist" in "the CULT of adoration." Catechism 1378) That's called idolatry, Erick! Jesus is in Heaven. The "flesh profits nothing."(John 6:61-63)
So, are Mormons Christians, too? The answer is a resounding NO!
Unfortunately, Erickson has been peddling the Ecumenical angle for a long time. I am surprised that he hasn't already made that great leap to Rome.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church says water Baptism is "necessary for salvation" yet it "delivers no one." (980&978)
"Yet the grace of Baptism delivers no one from all the weakness of nature" - i.e. sin.(978)
That is a cheap, man-made grace because it doesn't deliver anyone from their sins. Moreover, you cannot be "reborn" by it.(980) Only "those believing in [Jesus]...receive...the Holy Spirit," the "living water."(John 7:37-39) Are Catholics Christians if they place their faith in the Sacraments? The "first and chief sacrament of forgiveness of sins" (Catechism 977) can "never take away sins."(Hebrews 10:11-14)
However, according to the Catholic Church, the "Church, a pilgrim now on earth, is necessary for salvation"; water Baptism is "necessary for salvation," and Penance to a sinner (a priest) is "necessary for salvation."(Catechism 846&980)
None of the above is true! Are Catholics Christians, Erick Erickson? Answer: A resounding NO!
"Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."(Acts 4:12)
The Catholic Church is "not of God."(John 8:47)
By the way, in 2011, the so-called "sole Church of Christ" (Catechism 816) called for "global Government." Yes, it's true! The Vatican released an official Vatican document outlining the need for it, a "World Authority" to foster "global social justice" and a "fair distribution of world wealth."
The "mission" according to the Catholic Church's Social Doctrine is "restoring and bearing witness to the unity lost at Babel."(431) We're well on the way to just that, and it's people like Erick Erickson who speak lies on the airwaves to a lost, gullible, and ill-informed generation.
And yet, here you are deliberately distorting the truth.
@georgepierson4920 How so, George?
@@kendaugherty3828 Wow, you Protestants distort the truth and then act all innocent. For starters, paragraph 816 is not calling for a world government. Anybody with an ounce of intelligence can see that. I could go around saying that Protestants do not want the whole world to come to Christ because they are too afraid of a one world government and a one world religion.
@georgepierson4920 Where in my post did I say that Catechism 816 is "calling for a world government?"
You obviously didn't read it correctly.

Why am I not surprised that you did not name the document. Let me guess; you Protestants want a world authority to foster "global social injustice" and an "unfair distribution of world wealth" like they have in communist, fascists, and socialist countries.
No he and God are two different if you actually read the Bible. Even Jesus says pray to our father not to me. The Trinity is catholic belief. Only one true God. Not before him. Not Jesus or Mary Jesus mother.
😂I always laugh at the wilful ignorance of humans when I hear absurd questions like that.
Do people like that live under a rock ? 😅

Exodus 20:
4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth
That is the second commandment. You don't obey it so you are idolaters
Furthermore:
1st Corinthians 10:
3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat;
4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
Ephesians 2:
17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.
18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
Ephesians 5:
20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
Mark 16:
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. --- clearly baptism alone does NOT SAVE. The belief in Jesus Christ is what saves!
Matthew 4:
8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
Now show me a single piece of scripture that says we are to pray to anyone other than God through Jesus Christ. Otherwise you need to repent and actually begin to follow Jesus

What are your thoughts about the recent statement of the Pope about all religions lead to God?
Look buddy...you're very wrong, you see, throughout the Bible and specially the Old Testament we see where "WORSHIPING IDOLS, other than just worshiping God" is completely and utterly frowned upon and condemned by God Himself...however, the Catholic Chirch chooses to ignore these Bible verses just like the Jews totally ignore "Isaiah 53"...🤷♂️🤔😃
How does the church ignore this?
@@JamesMathison98well, if you go to any catholic church, you will see lots of statues, people bow down in front of them, statue of Mary is in every single catholic church...they are worshiping creations instead of Creator. That is idolatry. Jesus never mentioned prayer and Mary in the same verse. Jesus said: pray to the Father in my name.
@@patriciaw4270 i kneel with my family every day on our bed to pray. Am I worshipping the bed? Of course not! Similarly, Catholics kneel to pray in front of statues to pray, not to the statue, but to our lord. Additionally, kneeling or bowing itself is not nessecarily a form of worship. When I proposed to my wife, I kneeled. I was not worshipping her. Similarly when I kneel in front of statues or icons, I am not worshipping them, but praying on my knees before God, using the image as an aid in prayer.
Lastly, when I ask my family and friends to pray for me, I am praying to them, in the purest sense of the word. To pray means to ask, and prayer itself isn’t nessecarily worship. Why should we stop asking people to pray for us who are in the body of Christ after they die? They are more alive than any of us
@@JamesMathison98 "God is Spirit and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth." Ever heard that? You don't need pictures or statues or any kind of images to worship God. You said you use "image as an aid". Why? Are you not capable to pray with closed eyes and opened heart? What did God say about graven images?
@@JamesMathison98Where is praying to an inanimate object mentioned in the Bible?

what an inane question
Christian doesn't exclusively mean Protestant or Evangelical or Non Denominational...
The question Should be is Anyone who broke away from the Ancient, Original Church, Faith Really A Christian?
I'm convinced the ancient faith is Orthodoxy.
You can ask the Same question about Any branch or sect of Christianity....
Lutheran
Anglican
Presbyterian
Methodist
Adventist
Baptist
There are Many " branches" claiming to be Christian...
This definition of being Christian is not explained in the Bible and not apostolic. The word of God over everything.
The definition of many terms are not explained in The Bible. That doesn’t mean that we can’t understand them. Christian comes from Greek and it means one who follows Christ.
@johnsteila411 your definition of the word Christian is correct however the definition in this video is not biblical and it is a problem to people who believe on Christ based on the word of God and to make them feel like they're less of a Christian because of an extra biblical definition is a problem and will always be a problem.
Saints and idols ans esting swine are against the 3 branches of the abrahmic faith
How are saints against Christianity?
Have you read Acts chapter 10 or Mark chapter 7?
To put simple
No they are not.
Mind you Liars and Slanderers will not enter the Kingdom of God.
