The thing abt hxh fights is weird The fights are good but at the same time not really crazy. Its the moments that lead to the fight, that's what makes the fight good. In my opinion
The reaso. People like Hiskoka vs Gon is because despite people hyping Gon up despite getting destroyed anyway. You also have a nice dichotomy as both are strong headed by nature and enjoy fighting. In a way, Hisoka represents what Gon could become if the worst aspects of his character come to fruition.
That’s why JJK is why of the only new shonen I’ve really taken to. From the very get go the Culling was being set up. Just about every enemy and ally has been building up to this major event. It feels like early shippuden to me in some aspects and I’m enjoying every bit of it.
Hxh was different in a way that it handled common tropes in a different way & the Gon vs hisoka fight was good because it was like naruto vs pain (story wise) naruto learned sage mode and Gon learned nen.. also ichigo learned bankai.. the thing with all 3 is that this was their “show me what you know now” moment. Not that they should win (like common tropes) but the artist just wanted to show a comparison. He just did it differently
I mean yes and no, it's on odd comparison and doesn't really fit imo. Gon vs Hisoka reminds me more of Goku vs Jackie Chun(Roshi). Naruto had more thematic's to the fight, for example both Pain and Naruto were both trained under Jirairya and taught lessons that shaped who they were, however they both reach different conclusions to the answer of bringing forth peace which brings them into conflict, that's why their final talk at the end is in my opinion where Naruto peaked as a character. Gon vs Hisoka is more so Gon proving to himself and the audience that he's gotten stronger similar to Goku vs Roshi, it's more so testing and gauging the mc abilites compared to where he first started from although Gon vs Hisoka shows it much more clear.
Zeno said 1v1 Chrollo would have a good chance of beating him; not that he would 100% beat Zeno and Silva at the same time if he was trying to kill them (note that this is from the family that taught Killua anything less than a 70% chance of victory isn't worth pursuing.) If that wasn't the case he wouldn't have gone through the trouble of getting Illumi to kill the Ten Dons that hired Zeno and Silva in the first place. As for Chrollo vs Hisoka: I get the implication that every move Chrollo made during their fight was to guarantee 100% victory; including most of the hits Hisoka landed on him. It was even noted by Hisoka that when he though Chrollo was reeling from a hit he was actually pretending and using the time to charge up an instance of Sun & Moon. Chrollo didn't want to leave anything to chance and wanted a guaranteed stomp, which is pretty much what he got once his plan reached the stage of having enough puppets and tags to surround Hisoka completely. Chrollo's not a character that likes to fight just for the love of fighting so this makes complete sense. They're close enough in ability and nen mastery that if they did have a no-prep 1v1 Hisoka probably would have a decent chance of winning (probably like 30-40% at least).
When I first watched Bleach Uryu gave me them Sasuke vibes he has a lot of potential but weekly shonen jump schedules kinda suck lol people like Tabata of BC has his issues with time restraints its sad tbh I wish they can do some type of seasonal thing where there get time to rest and eat and relax and write manga so it isn't as pain staking it needs to change so many manga could be better if it wasn't for that weekly schedule tbh.... Kubo spoke of timing issues and is sickness that's what people reacted the way they did for the TYBW Kubo rushed he was literally sick and injured torn tendons etc...

Imo bleach has elements of db(the explosive fights), yuyu hakusho(the supernatural ghost aspects), and jojos(the unique abilities with the real world setting)
The more of these discussions of theirs that I listen to, the more I realize that thier enjoyment of a series is much more surface level than i thought. @@rainofkhandaq6678 I don't need every character to have a well written backstory, or any backstory at all for that matter. freeza was a great dragon ball villain, and we don't even know why hes evil, let alone what his backstory is. what makes freeza good, despite his simplicity, is that his actions have had an unmatched impact on the world and the characters who live in it. freeza is like a force of nature villain, who is very simple in character, but his affect on the world is what gives him substance, and is what gets you invested. on top of all that, hes actually an enjoyable character who is very striking and outstanding, and he doesn't act like a plank of wood. jiren has none of these qualities, and while that's not necessarily a bad thing, he has nothing to make up for it. I mean Christ, even his design is boring. some of the side one off characters in the early tenkaichi rounds of dragon ball were more entertaining than jiren, which really hurts to say, but id be lying if I said otherwise.

Got caught up to jujitsu kaisen; pretty ok impression overall, but the lawyer fight was fantastic, great power mechanics and character work on display.
Bleach is the GOAT. The best cast of characters, story, fights, transformations and plot twists. Also Ichigo is basically Naruto and Sasuke so you saying that Bleach doesnt have a Sasuke doesnt make sense as Ichigo has both of the personalities of Naruto and Sasuke a bit not fully of course. Ichigo kind of goes through both of their journeys in a way imo. The path of revenge for Grand fisher and the heroes journey with rescuing and saving his friends and becoming a respected hero. Ichigos character has a whole lot of depth. Also Bleach has Kenpachi. So its automatically the GOAT.

i think the reason chrollo isnt doing some crazy raw stuff vs hisoka is because he knew hisoka is a threat so he just came up with an unbeatable strategy and just spammed these bomb puppet dudes at him to win
Also, Chrollo's ability to use Enhancements is 40% whereas Hisoka's is 80%, so unless Chrollo is like 2x as physically strong as Hisoka, then the Pervy dude would have a clear advantage in CQC, specially combined with Bungee Gum. Chrollo is a Specialist, so he needs to use trickity tricks Just wat i think
Problem with HxH aside from some of the lackluster arcs is that a lot of their side characters are just so damn uninteresting, even the phantom troupe just fall off without Chrollo and Hisoka.
Exactly HxH is very underwhelming. The fanbase cant accept that though and if you think another Shonen is better than they want to crucify you. Once Uvogin died I almost dropped the series.

That's why I can agree with Six that JJK is superior, it's power system is just as good, it has good story telling with no bad/boring arcs and it has 2-3 times as many raw characters.
Chrollo and Hisoka aren't the only interesting members of the Troupe come on now lol. But I do think the progression in HxH is a bit too slow for most readers. Also I feel like The Royal Guard was way too powerful. Meruem being as strong as he was is fine. Because he was a main bad guy. But his top minions who were essentially fodder to him BEFORE he even learned to properly utilize Nen were more powerful than 99.9% of humanity could even hope to achieve. That means the only way the plot can truly progress to levels of hype beyond the Chimera Ant Arc. Is if many humans can become strong enough to explore the entirety of the Dark Continent which I'm pretty sure even Meruem could not do. If this was Naruto or even Toriko. There would already be a bunch of established legends, living and dead that have explored the entirety of the Continent. There'd already be humans that didn't need Rose Bombs to surpass Meruem. In HxH no one has done this before. They've at best stayed on the outskirts but didn't dare try to explore it.
@@mee091000 To me Chrollo and Hisoka are the only raw original phantom troupe members, Feitan had his moment in the Chimera Ant Arc but even then you realise Feitan had to unleash his ultimate attack on Zazan of all people and the fight wasn't even that good, Also aside from Nobunaga and Uvogin the rest are uninteresting yes men for most of the series which makes it very hard to actually connect with any of them. I do agree that the power progression in the chimera ant arc was way too high, the phantom troupe went from the strongest antagonists in the show to being 10 levels below the weakest version of Meruem and his guards, it got to the point where the phantom troupe were pulling out their ultimate moves vs nameless ants.

I do think you are right about most of the Troupe being yes men. But there are a lot of interesting characters there aside from Uvogin. Also the Troupe is essentially a cult. Of the course they'll be yes men. They aren't like say The Akatsuki despite having a similar shtick. The Dark Continent Arc could actually save HxH's progression issue though. If they go the Toriko route I think the writer would be inspired again and we could finally see some power progression beyond the Chimera Ants.

These are such weird, superficial takes on each show. I think Seth asked Six, “What is it you like about Naruto,” the response was, “KCM2 and Madara are cool.” Wtf. The reason Naruto is great is because each major villain (and the previous hokage) each represent an inversion in some aspect of an ideal endpoint that Naruto and Sasuke have. The fights are a vehicle to drive the themes home. Pain vs Naruto isn’t just cool because of RASEN SHURIKEN SAGE MODE NINE TAILS WOWOWOWOEOWOW. It’s cool because Naruto needs to face how similar Pain is to Naruto, and Naruto doesn’t really win (and revive the leaf village) until he realizes that him and Pain truly are sibling disciples, and Naruto could have ended up just like Pain without the extensive support system around him. JJK also does this really well with Yuji and Mahito.

I don't understand how people can say that hxh is mid I mean obviously a lot of people overrate it but its definitely one of the better anime in my opinion. Hxh has one of the best power systems in anime and it has one of the best arcs; imo the chimera ant arc is better than the war arc in Naruto and the arrancar/fake karakura town arc in bleach.

That's why those techniques are OP. You can have as much DC and damage output as you want, a (not so) simple hax technique is negging you if you don't resist the hax. But in terms of just raw AP, if you highball Gojo to the extreme within reason (without wanking), you can get his basic AP to low cosmic ranges or higher. If you scale Yuji in the Goodwill Arc as low as only VS Battle Wiki's definition of Multi City Block to Large Town Level, and calc that minimum AP to the 2.5th Power, you'd get somewhere from Star to Solar System level AP for Yuji's Black Flashes. Gojo scales far above Yuji's black Flashes with his basic AP. The proof of him scaling is manga only so I won't say in case you're not there. Gojo's hax besides the mind hax...like his damage based hax are a combination of spatial manipulation and matter manipulation on an atomic level. 2 layers of durability negation in one that he can use in different ways. Atomic manipulation is a form of dura negation as it ignores physical durability and hits the atoms directly. Gojo can apparently fo this through energy type defenses as well. And then Spatial Manipulation can be used for dura negating by not attacking the person or interacting with them, but the space they're occupying/around them. Those are the techs most people have Gojo using to beat people above his weight class Speed is really what needs to be argued. If Gojo is relative to or faster than his opponent, he wins more often than not. If he's slower, they have to deal with his Infinity Barrier and near endless stamina. If they can deal with that, they probably win. If they can't, it's either inconclusive or they lose

I’m not invested in the stories (honestly they are mid to me too) I just like the action. Animes I genuinely like made me think or changed how I looked at anime as a whole; Obvious ones : Ghost in the shell, evangelion, gundam wing, FMA, Ninja Scroll, Into abyss, I liked the IDEA of attack on titan, I though Afro samurai was VERY interesting (is that even anime?) Princess Mononoke, spirited away, hideaki anno sakuga was truly sci-fi and made the tech seem like it was actually something that could be built irl, things like that. It’s very inconsistent. A lot of them aren’t even series but they had some sort of meaning or dealt with concepts that made me think after they were done. Either that or changed what I thought anime was capable of..

@@rainofkhandaq6678 I don't need every character to have a well written backstory, or any backstory at all for that matter. freeza was a great dragon ball villain, and we don't even know why hes evil, let alone what his backstory is. what makes freeza good, despite his simplicity, is that his actions have had an unmatched impact on the world and the characters who live in it. freeza is like a force of nature villain, who is very simple in character, but his affect on the world is what gives him substance, and is what gets you invested. on top of all that, hes actually an enjoyable character who is very striking and outstanding, and he doesn't act like a plank of wood. jiren has none of these qualities, and while that's not necessarily a bad thing, he has nothing to make up for it. I mean Christ, even his design is boring. some of the side one off characters in the early tenkaichi rounds of dragon ball were more entertaining than jiren, which really hurts to say, but id be lying if I said otherwise.

Bleach is the GOAT. The best cast of characters, story, fights, transformations and plot twists. Also Ichigo is basically Naruto and Sasuke so you saying that Bleach doesnt have a Sasuke doesnt make sense as Ichigo has both of the personalities of Naruto and Sasuke a bit not fully of course. Ichigo kind of goes through both of their journeys in a way imo. The path of revenge for Grand fisher and the heroes journey with rescuing and saving his friends and becoming a respected hero. Ichigos character has a whole lot of depth.
Also Bleach has Kenpachi. So its automatically the GOAT.

i think the reason chrollo isnt doing some crazy raw stuff vs hisoka is because he knew hisoka is a threat so he just came up with an unbeatable strategy and just spammed these bomb puppet dudes at him to win
Also, Chrollo's ability to use Enhancements is 40% whereas Hisoka's is 80%, so unless Chrollo is like 2x as physically strong as Hisoka, then the Pervy dude would have a clear advantage in CQC, specially combined with Bungee Gum.

Problem with HxH aside from some of the lackluster arcs is that a lot of their side characters are just so damn uninteresting, even the phantom troupe just fall off without Chrollo and Hisoka.
Exactly HxH is very underwhelming. The fanbase cant accept that though and if you think another Shonen is better than they want to crucify you. Once Uvogin died I almost dropped the series.
@@YhwachTheAlmighty Don't get me wrong it's a decent show but it's not this godlike unparalleled show that people make it out to be, it's hard carried by the power system and characters like Hisoka and Chrollo. That's why I can agree with Six that JJK is superior, it's power system is just as good, it has good story telling with no bad/boring arcs and it has 2-3 times as many raw characters.
Chrollo and Hisoka aren't the only interesting members of the Troupe come on now lol.
But I do think the progression in HxH is a bit too slow for most readers. Also I feel like The Royal Guard was way too powerful. Meruem being as strong as he was is fine. Because he was a main bad guy. But his top minions who were essentially fodder to him BEFORE he even learned to properly utilize Nen were more powerful than 99.9% of humanity could even hope to achieve. That means the only way the plot can truly progress to levels of hype beyond the Chimera Ant Arc. Is if many humans can become strong enough to explore the entirety of the Dark Continent which I'm pretty sure even Meruem could not do. If this was Naruto or even Toriko. There would already be a bunch of established legends, living and dead that have explored the entirety of the Continent. There'd already be humans that didn't need Rose Bombs to surpass Meruem. In HxH no one has done this before. They've at best stayed on the outskirts but didn't dare try to explore it.
@@mee091000 To me Chrollo and Hisoka are the only raw original phantom troupe members, Feitan had his moment in the Chimera Ant Arc but even then you realise Feitan had to unleash his ultimate attack on Zazan of all people and the fight wasn't even that good, Also aside from Nobunaga and Uvogin the rest are uninteresting yes men for most of the series which makes it very hard to actually connect with any of them.
I do agree that the power progression in the chimera ant arc was way too high, the phantom troupe went from the strongest antagonists in the show to being 10 levels below the weakest version of Meruem and his guards, it got to the point where the phantom troupe were pulling out their ultimate moves vs nameless ants.

I do think you are right about most of the Troupe being yes men. But there are a lot of interesting characters there aside from Uvogin. Also the Troupe is essentially a cult. Of the course they'll be yes men. They aren't like say The Akatsuki despite having a similar shtick.
The Dark Continent Arc could actually save HxH's progression issue though. If they go the Toriko route I think the writer would be inspired again and we could finally see some power progression beyond the Chimera Ants.

These are such weird, superficial takes on each show. I think Seth asked Six, “What is it you like about Naruto,” the response was, “KCM2 and Madara are cool.” Wtf. The reason Naruto is great is because each major villain (and the previous hokage) each represent an inversion in some aspect of an ideal endpoint that Naruto and Sasuke have. The fights are a vehicle to drive the themes home.
Pain vs Naruto isn’t just cool because of RASEN SHURIKEN SAGE MODE NINE TAILS WOWOWOWOEOWOW. It’s cool because Naruto needs to face how similar Pain is to Naruto, and Naruto doesn’t really win (and revive the leaf village) until he realizes that him and Pain truly are sibling disciples, and Naruto could have ended up just like Pain without the extensive support system around him. JJK also does this really well with Yuji and Mahito.

I don't understand how people can say that hxh is mid I mean obviously a lot of people overrate it but its definitely one of the better anime in my opinion. Hxh has one of the best power systems in anime and it has one of the best arcs; imo the chimera ant arc is better than the war arc in Naruto and the arrancar/fake karakura town arc in bleach.
Idk I think I disagree with Gojo over Goku and many other 'characters don't see the domain only the people in them do' abilities are wanted but have extremely low DC on the physical plane comparatively.
That's why those techniques are OP. You can have as much DC and damage output as you want, a (not so) simple hax technique is negging you if you don't resist the hax.
But in terms of just raw AP, if you highball Gojo to the extreme within reason (without wanking), you can get his basic AP to low cosmic ranges or higher. If you scale Yuji in the Goodwill Arc as low as only VS Battle Wiki's definition of Multi City Block to Large Town Level, and calc that minimum AP to the 2.5th Power, you'd get somewhere from Star to Solar System level AP for Yuji's Black Flashes. Gojo scales far above Yuji's black Flashes with his basic AP. The proof of him scaling is manga only so I won't say in case you're not there.
Gojo's hax besides the mind hax...like his damage based hax are a combination of spatial manipulation and matter manipulation on an atomic level. 2 layers of durability negation in one that he can use in different ways. Atomic manipulation is a form of dura negation as it ignores physical durability and hits the atoms directly. Gojo can apparently fo this through energy type defenses as well. And then Spatial Manipulation can be used for dura negating by not attacking the person or interacting with them, but the space they're occupying/around them. Those are the techs most people have Gojo using to beat people above his weight class
Speed is really what needs to be argued. If Gojo is relative to or faster than his opponent, he wins more often than not. If he's slower, they have to deal with his Infinity Barrier and near endless stamina.
If they can deal with that, they probably win. If they can't, it's either inconclusive or they lose

Animes I genuinely like made me think or changed how I looked at anime as a whole;
Obvious ones : Ghost in the shell, evangelion, gundam wing, FMA, Ninja Scroll, Into abyss, I liked the IDEA of attack on titan, I though Afro samurai was VERY interesting (is that even anime?) Princess Mononoke, spirited away, hideaki anno sakuga was truly sci-fi and made the tech seem like it was actually something that could be built irl, things like that.
It’s very inconsistent. A lot of them aren’t even series but they had some sort of meaning or dealt with concepts that made me think after they were done. Either that or changed what I thought anime was capable of..
