Monk Synopsis: Adrian Monk (Emmy®-winner Tony Shalhoub) was once a rising star with the San Francisco Police Department, legendary for using unconventional means to solve the department's most baffling cases. But after the tragic and still-unsolved murder of his wife, Trudy, the devastated Monk becomes obsessive-compulsive. His psychological disorder has caused him to develop an abnormal fear of virtually everything: germs, heights, crowds... even milk. Monk's condition costs him his job, but he's back as a police consultant despite the unique challenges he encounters in his everyday life. These challenges lead Monk to hire a personal nurse, Sharona Fleming (Bitty Schram), who is always there to offer her assistance, even with the simplest of tasks (like organizing his sock drawer). Her less-than-subtle prodding keeps the "defective detective" on track in his investigations, as well as in his efforts to convince Captain Stottlemeyer (Ted Levine) to allow him to return to the force.

It can be pretty obvious, but pointing out that the victim was shot first then set on fire on the account of his back no being so burnt, Randy has great observation skills
And here I was thinking: he's not a total idiot.
But then, "I will take it down to the lab"...
He is the comic relief of the series. Offscreen he was supposed to be a competent field officer just don't compare him to Monk. But sometimes the writers held nothing back and made him do the most idiotic thing of a cop.
A little detail I like is that Randy is *often* shown to actually be a smart cop, but his talent is usually eclipsed by comedic scenes and by standing next to other smart characters.
Monk: "She's the guy!" 🤣
shes definitely the guy lenland
@@shevahauser1780 *Leland?
I’m so glad that Stottlemeyer found his Trudy. I’m happy for both of them.🥰🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️
I do find it funny how much work Randy put into the music for the wedding.😅
And it’s even better that her first name is Trudy
@@GhostKyngyou remember he is a little " shocked " she's a Trudy explains about monks Trudy .calls her tk .
I wish we would’ve gotten more time with TK. She was so wonderful for Leland.
me to .
Nice move at the end, Captain! Making her use up her last bullet! Very sweet!
Lol the party scene at Monk's apartment "Monk there's a bathroom in the bathroom" "Where am I supposed to put it Mike?" In the kitchen?" "Monk there's nothing on the pizza" Yeah I ordered plain, no mess no fess"
I say it was for Trudy. He could not get over it.
At least they were all nice enough to put up with his idiosyncrasies, just because he means well and the whole thing was important to him
3:48 Poor Randy! He's so much better than his reputation!
Stottlemeyer dropping 2 "Holy Monkey!"'s at the crime scene cracks me up. He's so happy to be engaged to his dream girl he forgot he's a homicide investigator.
he's doing a dance without being drunk reality pops up and out comes holy monkey 😅
@DeltaEcho303 he should've serenaded her " ain't no sunshine "
The only part I hate is when he says 'clip' instead of a magazine lol. Still classic though!
Right like cop should know that. Clips exist but magazine is the appropriate term in this case. Clips largely aren’t used and are single use mostly.
@@bullshark3771 well actually a 'clip' is a strip of metal that you load bullets into when they are in an ammo container. That's how they come out of the factory. The magazine is what actually goes in the weapon which you take bullets out of the clips to fill. That's right, I 'um actually' d you lol.
I thought at first you were being meta, that you hated when people called this short video a "clip' and not a "episode summary". Then I wondered why you would use "magazine" for a longer form video (like magazine is longer than a newspaper article maybe?)
Finally it went click so I instinctively did tap rack bang and all was good.
@@Fatherofheroesandheroines I’m aware of that. I didn’t want to give a whole paragraph long description of history. For example clips were used in WW2 primarily over magazines for the m1 garand because they were lighter and could carry more of them on each soldier and didn’t have to carry around the empty clips and could just be left around. Plus they were cheaper to produce. So yes clips were used to load guns. So yes I just um actually’d you.
@@bullshark3771 This whole explanation of clips mistaken for magazine reminds me of that time Charlie (Moistcritical) corrected sneako.😂
The actor playing the priest is Tony Shalhoub's real-life brother
👍👌👏 Simply fantastic again and as always. Thanks a lot for uploading and sharing.
Best regards, luck and health in particular.
5:23 I swear the first time I watched that scene I couldn't stop laughing. The explotion was so random
I can't believe that Randy was playing a steal pan 😂 not the best, but still appreciate.
5:09 That priest is Tony Shalhoub's real life brother! Michael Shalhoub!
Nice catch!
OMG, a Monk that I haven't seen before?
My lucky day!
Thank you! 🙂🫠
Es una serie que me encanta y podría verla mil veces sin aburrirme, pero podrían traducirla al español por favor.
I love that they only get a boot and a bottle of rum as evidence, and Stottlemeyer's first instinct is to have Monk look at it. I mean, makes sense. Look at how much he got just from the boot. Also, I like that they're such good friends that Leland preferred to call her T.K. because her actual first name was Trudy, but Monk cared about him so much, that he didn't let that bother him
I like how Captain cares about Randy right after the explosion
*MONK* (S8, Ep13: _Mr.Monk is the Best Man_ ; 13 November, 2009)
T.K. Jensen (Virginia Madsen)
Stephanie Briggs (Teri Polo)
Minister (Michael Shaloub)
There's no way Munk put he's glove like that!
5:10 -- The minister has similar fair and facial features to Monk.
I know that a brother of Tony Shalhoub was in the bee episode. Is this him again? Or another brother?
@@nhmooytis7058 OK, thanks.
This is Michael Shalhoub Tony’s real life brother.
@@nhmooytis7058 Um, ... OK, I checked, and sure enough, it is his real-life brother.
So why did you first respond with "neither"?
@@UA-camallowedmynametobestolen because I thought you meant his brother on the show, Ambrose. Not his brother IRL. When I looked up the cast I saw the minister was Michael Shalhoub. Trivia, Michael Shalhoub was the real name of actor Omar Sharif!
@@nhmooytis7058 Ah, I see. Thanks for that explanation.
"Michael Shalhoub was the real name of actor Omar Sharif!"
No kidding? That's interesting! I wonder if mom and pop Shalhoub named their son after him? Or, they might even be related?
Monk was checking her out when she left the office
9:47 The FBI will be very happy to see you Ms. “Stephanie Briggs.” They have been looking for 12 years. Have a nice life in prison. 😆
Did she really just fire a gun like two blocks from a police station?
leland found his happiness 😊, and it was virginia madsen 👏
that was the best ending in monk finale .he wants to be so non chalant like I saw nothing when he sees the pillow she crochet Leland & tk .
out of leland character in 0:5 then holy monkey i first love tony shaloub ( adrian monk ) ted Levine 😘.i loved them bringing in the gorgeous virginia madsen as lelands wife to be .so one of my love al calavicci ( dean Stockwell) would say nozzle a lot and leland ( ted 🥰levine) holy monkey 😊
👍❤️🙏✨✨
TK has poor choice in friends
Which Monk is this? When did this come out?
Episode 13 of 8th and last season.
Invasion of the body snatchers ❤ R.i.p D. Sutherland
Wait, is that Virginia Madsen playing T.K. / Trudy??
Yep.
She played T.K. I believe Brenda Strong played Trudy.
@@Josh.WDW. The T in T.K. stood for Trudy. Stottlemeyer tried to hide that fact from Monk. As to Adrian's Trudy, she was played by Melora Hardin.
We're in the lab!😂 😢Disher was the perfect dumb dumb!
5:31 5:42 people disappeared
Do you watch people running and think "wow those people are disappearing!"?
Please recommend similar show like monk.. a detective comedy
Try Psych
My family really likes Will Trent, he's like monk but with a dog
@@413dollaz wow never heard of this show. will look it up. Thanks
Murdoch mysteries
All great shows. You should include Columbo, Murder She Wrote, Sherlock Holmes. There are a bunch of different murder mystery shows.
It's the priest, Tony Shalhoub dad or something???
Um she size 13.5 so he was tall? Hmmmm. You cannot know that for sure. I have bigger feet than some people taller than me. And I have friends shorter than me whose feet are bigger than mine.
6:04 isn't that Leland's ex wife??
I know Glenn headly ( Karen ) passed away when she left monk , could've been their way of paying tribute to her . tho the pic looks more like Virginia Madsen
