Just for those who have 6 channels receivers, you can just connect any of the receiver ports to the fms gyro, adjust the mode you are looking for then unplug it and use the receiver port for your default channel, the gyro mode will stay on last mode selected.
Thanks Brian & camera crew,I almost bought the V2 and so happy I waited, used the link below to order it,you help me all the time with your videos and setups,it’s the least I could do as a Thank You!!! 😊
Thanks Brian, best channel for learning and learning and learning with fun 👌
Glad you think so! Thanks!!!
FMS stands for: Finally, More Stuff!
Thanks!
Hey you 2.just like to say that all your hard work is paying off for me recently.the long vids are essential for us noobs to learn the full extent of the hobby.big fan.keep it up.god bless
Excellent!
Looks awesome
It is!
cool plane build and setup
Thanks!
I absolutely love your build and maiden reviews that got me in the hobby! I have my NX 8 unopened and leaning on your guidance to use. Contemplating on this Futura v3 and the Viper 90mm
It is an amazing plane, very fast, yet flies slow when you want, and can just ROCKET up into vertical! It's the epitome of what we expect when we get an EDF jet.
Did I read, Viper 90mm? 🙂 I'm in the same boat coming off the E-flight Viper 70mm which I absolutely love. It's either the Viper 90mm, this or the Freewing Avanti 80mm (9-blade).
think your kids are the statement for liking bareback ;) anyhow thanks for making these vids. i still use these techniques even for my composite turbines. youre ultimately the reason why i got into flying. so thank you sir for everything you do for the hobby
Awesome! Thanks ;)
Awesome guys
Thanks!
Just put together my Futura V3 with a Spektrum AR620. By default it was in Optimization Mode (AS3X) which is what I want to have on permanently. To test this, I unplugged the Flaps from Port 6 on the Rx. Then I plugged the SBUS Cable into Port 6 on the Rx. I set up Channels so that Switch B controlled Port 6. I was now able to switch to Stabilized Mode (SAFE), Off, and Optimized Mode (AS3X). Then I powered down again, and undid the Channel change, and plugged the Flaps back into Port 6. The mode is back to Optimized Mode... perfect.
Thanks for sharing, but is AR620 reliable for a jet. Why they are mentioning on its features used for park flyers
Man u got sum knowledge awsum very impressive
Thanks!
Brian you are great from Boaz badihi from Israel
Thanks!!! Very glad to have you here with us, and welcome!
Hi Bryan ! fms make a high qualities planes ! this futura v3 it's a pure beauty ! by the way just buy my self a spektrum nx 10 , hope you have some videos about the setting and update ! I am not a professional like you I will need some help ! you are a freaking good driver ! 👍
Hobbywing has a programming box that might be able to reprogram the ESC so you can have Reverse Thrust
you crack me up man
Glad I have that effect on you ;)
@@BrianPhillipsRC hey brian gonna buy the futura do i just click on the link in ur video?
Might as well set up crow with the extra channel!
Hi Brian... Awesome video as usual. I m thinking of buying this futura v3 and was wondering if the ar620 receiver will be enough for this plane if I remove the reflex gyro? Also have you test flown it without the reflex gyro youself ? The reason Im asking is because I have a ar620 that I dont use and if I need to ad the cost of a new 8ch receiver to this futura it ends up almost the same price point as the bnf e flite viper 90mm that Im also considering but I like the looks of the futura better and its more nimble... Can't deside what to do 😊
I want one FMS know I want one so feel the forces teasing my bank account balance. Cheers from NZ.
I agree!
u should review the freewing b2 spirit
Brian, what I had to choose from for a receiver that I had on had was either a ar631 or a ar637t so I chose the ar637t as I wanted to have battery pack telemetry but I ended up with a sbus/ppm wire left after hooking all the connections up. Do I need to plug the sbus wire into the xbus slot on the receiver.
Awesome video! Mine will be here in a few days. Did you ever figure out how to make the wing tip lights solid on? Thanks!
I didn't, but honestly, I had totally forgotten about that gripe, since with this being a FAST edf jet, I just don't wind up flying a ton at twilight.
Awesome plane, no question. If I install a Spectrum AR631 w/ DSMX, AS3X & SAFE (or a AR637T) then there's no need for Reflex. It's built-in.
I didn’t notice if you added an elevator mix with the flaps. If you did could you share it with me. I just got mine setup and plan on maidening it this weekend.
I didn't. You can in about 5 second though...I'd make it on switch C so you can turn on and off, since it'll make your elevator super touchy ;)
Hey Brian, Love that Futura, I have the V2, now I've gotta get the V3. 🤩 Question for yeah, I don't see you ever talk about the Spektrum AR630 Rx. That's the one with no antenna and no telemetry but it does have AS3X. I guess you don't use it because with that NX radio you want that battery info from the model? But how is that AR630, is it a good Rx? Thanks!
Hi
Great video… did you notice what type of control surface hinges are used. Nylon ?? Or just compressed foam ? Thanks
I didn't pay super close attention, and very sorry for that. I usually mention it, as I notice, but I can tell you I only really dig into that detail, if I'm concerned about the build quality, or if it's a smaller plane, where the MFG might have been inclined to "cheap out" on the hinges.
@@BrianPhillipsRC thanks all good 👍
Thank you for the excellent video. I bought this plane right after watching your video. I am about to by AR631 for my NX8. Are you sure that I can assign a separate switch for safe mode as all the six channels going to be taken as we have retractable wheels and flap in this plane. Thank you again
Yep! If you're using an AR631 ( bprc.me/AR631 ) SAFE/AS3X rides ON TOP of the pluggable channels so you thought be perfect. Your pluggable channels will look like this...
1. Throttle
2. Ailerons
3. Elevator
4. Rudder
5. Gear
6. Flaps
This means that your mode can run on channel 7 or 8. Hope that helps!
@BrianPhillipsRC Thank you for your early reply. Ok then I will buy it today but costumers service of a seller has told me that I would need to put wheels and safe mode on the same switch meaning that safe mode would work when I bring down the wheels. I trust you and I will buy it today. Thank you again
How does that rx get power ?
From the ESC (the electronic speed control) KINDA...there's two sides of the power circuit on most of these ESC's - one side runs a brushless motor with the bulk of the power being consumed there, and the other part is the BEC, or the BATTER ELIMINATOR CIRCUIT, which steals enough juice, about 5V at 3-5Amps or so, to run the Rx, servos, stabilizer, led's, and retracts....basically everything BUT the motor(s).
Sometimes when a plane as MULTIPLE motors, the MFG'er will use a BEC external from the ESC, even if there's several ESC. This is to keep from having a floating ground, which can cause all sorts of problems. Sometimes they're called SBEC (for switching BEC) or UBEC (UNIVERSAL BEC) - they're basically the same thing FYI.
@@BrianPhillipsRC
Got it. Awesome info! Thanks a lot.
Did you connect the bec to the rx on this plane? I didn’t see that get connected.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻✌🏻
Thanks!
BRIAN!!!!!! Not the Visor again!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂
Sorry to disappoint!
