Non-serviceable lights with a 2K replacement price is ridiculous. We all know it didn’t cost Ford anywhere near 2K to buy from their supplier. That integrated brake module is a piece of work too.
Really enjoyed the video, I was actually looking for a mechanics review of this because I was considering buying one but you basically put the nail in the coffin that maybe they didn’t fix these issues for 2023 or even 2024.
Bought mine about a year ago… still looking at what AFM stuff to do to it besides a 2” lift and 18s; that aside, I’m glad my hunch of Ford Explorer wasn’t off because after a year I just feel baby bronco is an appropriate nickname… maybe stay stock and trade up to an actual bronco in a few years… Also, you blew my mind by telling me these headlights are $1500-$2000 like playa, I’m about to be a midnight driver at that repair cost 😂
LEDs are designed to last 30-50,000 hours. With an hour of commuting every day, that’s 115 years or when I’m 177-years-old. 😂 Almost every brand has light-duty 4X4s these days that they advertise for “adventure.” But in all the off-road tests and reviews, I haven’t seen one perform better than the Baby Bronc. Score one for Ford.
Late to the game but this is a great review and much needed info for the buyer to make a better choice. Gotta ask, its 2024 now, did ford fix the gross headlight issue yet? Thank you again. Just subscribed to your channel and checking out your other videos.
I've been a subscriber for a while and this is an excellent video. I was a Ford and Lincoln tech for 40+ years and I truly believe that these new vehicles although they have all the electronic "bells and Whistles" are crap. I drive a 2003 Sable with the Vulcan motor and AX4S transaxle. Also, a 1996 loaded Chevrolet Silverado Z71. I can fix anything that goes wrong with these vehicles inexpensively. I would never buy an Escape especially AWD. Again great video and best of luck...Ford was very good to me
Enjoyed your video! My top pro is the skid plates...I took it off roading in Colorado on a rather rocky road, and the skid plates really did their job. I was super grateful to have them. Biggest con for me is suspension also. However, I am hoping that down the road the aftermarket world offers complete upgrades that wont interferer with the tech.
What's your take on the 1.5 EB. I live that it has the dual injections. I'm surprised they didn't upgrade the 2.0 Prone to carbon build up on the intake valves.
Yeah they are getting better and better about the carbon buildup. I’m not sure if they are doing something different with the intake valves or what but we don’t really see too many of them having carbon build up issues on the newer 4 cylinder eco boosts, even the ones with only direct.
i agree with everything you said about this however to be fair I believe that this ride will not be used as an off-roader per say and Ford knows that. Probably marketing to the skier, kayaker and just the regular joe soccer mom who has to drive in the snow lol
Thanks for the review. Before I call my local Ford Dealer about the cost of replacing one headlight, I want to verify that you claim the part costs $2,000. Is that correct?
Yeah they are close to $2000 a piece if I remember correctly. I actually just seen a set of headlight assemblies selling on eBay used for $1700 for a 21 model.
This looks like the Outer Banks trim you reviewed. Have you seen the Badlands version of the Bronco Sport? Would appreciate your view of its suspension. It is a more off road capable version of this vehichle.
Can anyone tell me if I'm being lied to. I was told that I must buy the radiator fan unit from Ford and that any non ford unit(cheaper) would not work right. This sounds sus to me and I'm trying to expand my ability to fix and maintain the car on my own. Anyone know?
Thanks for the video review and appreciate you making this. Getting a mechanics perspective has made me aware of what to look out for.
Thank you!

Love watching you man. I’m a young ford tech, I like catching up with you and getting your opinion on these things.

Thank you! Yeah I’m a fan of the older stuff when it comes to my personal rides.

Yeah hopefully down the road there will be some suspension upgrades for it. Best of luck with yours!
He works for Ford and made this video? I would not have made this video. Very brave but I appreciate his honesty.
Just an honest review. Thanks!
Appreciate this review and your feedback. Thank you kindly.
Thank you!

Some points I agree and some disagree, do a review or the 2.3 Explorer.
Thanks for the honesty. I’ll see what I can do on that video.

Yeah I agree with you on that. I just don’t like that they advertised it as an off road vehicle.
@@FlyingWrenches13 have you seen any off road videos about the badlands? Pretty capable for what it is...
Hope you can show us the Maverick in your shop soon.
I am very excited to get to take a look at the Mavericks when they get here! Hopefully I can have a video out on them pretty soon.
If it's anything like the 18 escape run , run fast
Hopefully a little better quality than the escape haha

Good video. Interesting accent you have.
The ole “southern draw”
Basically it's the Bronco 2
Pretty much. It’s like you own half of a Bronco.
The Raptor has aluminum lower control arms.. they’re plenty strong enough
The raptor also has upper control arms where this doesn’t.
@@FlyingWrenches13 Aluminum doesn't rust. And aluminum parts are usually thickened to match the loads expected.

That was a bad lands edition in the video.

What kind of car?
It’s a Pyle…..Doing a turbo on a 1.5 was a joke
You be hurting peoples feelings when you told thou truth ya!
Who is making fun of cars owners who don't have to pay 2k for a light bulb?
????? It only uses the Escape platform, its been ruggedized, so it’s not the same.
Ruggedized?
EEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOO
