Mike, I've been watching your videos since the 244 GTK got famous after SEMA and have subscribed since then. I have to say I really like your editing style. Smooth shots with a nice voiceover, it feels really narrative. I've adopted your style in my last two videos and the feedback is good, so thank you for the inspiration! I haven't known about this E36 so it's also justified content for a video. It's a beautiful intake plenum!
It's funny you call your E36 a "Forever Car". I sold a really clean 71 Beetle 20 years ago and it still makes me sick almost daily. I will absolutely never sell my E36 M3 I have had for almost 20 years. and I am working on finding another beetle now.
I feel the same way about my Datsun 280 ZX turbo 2+2. Sold it for 2500 back in 2000 and I’ve been seeing one on the drive home every day for the last few weeks parked in a lot at a business and it looks exactly like my old one and it breaks my heart every time.
@@J_Bwn I would recommend that you swing past that car. Check it out see if it is the one you sold and even if it's not. Just see if it's for sale. Any up here in Canada will sell for about 5-7,000$ for a crapper. And up past 20,000 for one in good shape. Best of luck with it. I fully understand the sickening regrets that come with selling the "forever" car.
@@BrainsofFrank yeah they really skyrocketed in value after I sold mine. I didn’t see a sale sign but it think I will stop in just to see the old girl and ask questions about where they got it. It still looks mint and still has the stock wheels! I’m always happy to see a old z car that has been kept stock. You’re right about the price. A good example with no rust is a unicorn.and is expensive because they are unibody cars.
I feel this. I had a 66 with factory metal sunroof that I fully restored from the floor pans up. It was basically brand new and I kick myself every time I think about it. Hmmm? That was 20 years ago!
I have to say I'm a pretty new subscriber, but you and legit street cars are probably the only 2 youtubers that I can stand to listen to for an extended amount of time. I found your tone very pleasant, i have been going back im watching the ford build now, and its great content thanks for the videos.
Everything you went through building these cars, I've watched all your videos. You are the definition of a very hard-working and determined person with passion . Keep it up, dude .
It's great you got the interior wrapped up in time for the meet! I was definitely worried for you there for a while. Also great to see all your buddies jumping right in to help you get it done the night before. That's what this community is all about. Interior looks great too. Always appreciate you showing how you've grown and advocating for how anyone can pick up a wrench. I think the power steering segment line really helps show that to viewers. Builds don't have to be perfect from the get go, and you'll improve your skills along the way. Excited to see this thing finished and ripping around, and I'm sure you are too!
I've been waiting for this episode all year. Im not lying when I say I went back in your videos multiple times to see if I somehow missed the reveal of the interior haha. One of the best E36's out there. Love all the fabrication on the Ferrari but for me this is the number 1 car on the channel, been following you since I saw Rusty at the Essen motorshow in 2015. Keep up all the good work Mike!
Hearing you say making it work with what you have and improve over time is really what I need to hear while I’m working and documenting my e36 drift build. While I’ve developed the perfectionist mindset from watching you and others, I don’t have the funds to do so. Thank you!
I didn't believe you when you said it's been a year. seems like it was last week! Glad to see you're fixing stuff that you did as a kid. I find myself doing projects every other week on my car that are fixing stuff my dumb ass did as a young kid.
As a BMW guy I love this build! My first car was a 1995 325iC and my dad had a ‘99 M3 when I was a kid. I’m currently contemplating an s54 swap for my e46 wagon and I’ll never sell my 2001 M Roadster..so totally get the idea of the forever car!
I had a pair of E36 M3’s but living in Cleveland the bodies were barely hanging on when I sold them. I loved them dearly and it hurts to watch the values rise out of reach, but I have a 1989 944 Turbo now that will stay with me until I’m gone.
Quick tip for everyone. Good ceramic tint (they also make it 100% transparent) will block UV rays, those damage the interior the most, and also IR rays, those create heat. Good ceramic tint will make the interior last for a very long Time and you will not suffer heat from the sun.
Lots of great memories from my E36 ownership days. Had a 1997 318is slick top 20 years ago that in hindsight would have been the perfect donor for a headliner :)
Man, somehow I’m new to the channel.. bro your videos are so easy/informative to watch.. my wedding car was a e36 m spec so this one hit… thanks man will be sticking around
Wow love how far the cars come along man! Look forward to seeing more. I hope that radiator and oil cooler can be mounted on a car that’s equipped with the gt front tray
Oh my 😍 the bride seats with the M tech fabric very very nice touch on the interior! Can’t wait see it finished like all of the projects haha! But honestly really nice touch on the front seats
The E36 is one of my favorite cars. As for the engine bay, a little patina is okay in the engine bay. With a little time, the engine bay can be re-touched.
Holy cow, I didn't realize the M-Rain interior was that rare. I had a 328is with the M-Rain interior swapped in from a 325is... at the time I just thought it was a cool-looking interior in an otherwise cheap $3000 328is that had a full M3 swap (engine, subframe, diff, transmission, brakes).
Hey Mike! This E36 series have been very insightful for me. At the end of last year I bought a 1997 328i coupe which is my first car. It needs some work, for example a full rear subframe refresh and reinforcing the subframe mounting points. I will also be looking into the Porsche brake update that you did. I would love to attend your E36 meets but I think it's a little too far away as I live in Finland😂 I'm looking forward for new episodes on this build!
15:05 Embracing the imperfections. Is not removing a perfectly fine radiator and oil cooler. Because you don't like the hoses and the brackets. That is being the perfectionist that you are ;)
On EBay… someone is selling Alpina Green stripe interior cloth. I am pretty sure I have seen that cloth for sale as well….the singular green stripe, with the same background as the factory fabric. Pretty cool. I wish you would have known about that fabric on EBay.
Take tour stock seatbelts and send them to an aviation rewebbing company and specify the color you want. When I did the ones in my airplane it was reasonable.

S52 swapped a base e36?! Looks great sir, I just aquired a 318i and would like to do something similar. Although it would be my first swap. Im considering just taking the n52 out my e60 and calling it a day.
You listed a few items that would be cool little side projects . You definitely have the ability to make said parts. As always great work. Need more guys like you out there. #magicmike lol
Hey qms makes a beautiful strut support bar. Quality motorsports in Poland. Worth every penny and it fists with great clearance. I believe I found them on eBay.
Have you tried the wing without the risers? The car looks perfect, dunno why when I saw the rear 3 quarter shots of the car I thought about removing the risers.
What are the name of the front seats? They look great. It’s a mix of sporty, secure and overall comfort. Also the texture just screams 80s which kinda fits the era of these cars.
The intake DOES remind me of the AC Schnitzer CSL green car with green carbon, with yellow kevlar woven in with it… it had a huge green carbon intake plenum that looked sweet.., said CSL on it.
Why not make the strut bar yourself? You've got the skillset there. Would be cool to have one custom suited to your needs rather than hoping another will fit.
Love the E36 episodes! You really inspire me to rebuild my old E46 330Ci, and doing it in a proper way.
Mike, I've been watching your videos since the 244 GTK got famous after SEMA and have subscribed since then.

Well done video! Thanks for skipping all the filler bs and staying on track with the editing and the voice over. You earned a new sub!
Some modern ///M seat belts would look great with your ///M seat and door panels fabric

Geez you are such an inspiration, you aren’t just a part of the scene, you support it
you saying it's been a whole year since the last e36 episode hit me hard, like really hard. I had to go back and check. Life flies man
I had a pair of E36 M3’s but living in Cleveland the bodies were barely hanging on when I sold them. I loved them dearly and it hurts to watch the values rise out of reach, but I have a 1989 944 Turbo now that will stay with me until I’m gone.
An absolute legend, STILL! It’s literally perfect.
I love the E36 M3. I owned several and made one a PTG replica track car. Watching this video, makes me want another....
So ready for this one! Can’t believe we’re getting a vid on a Wednesday! Mike, you must be grinding.
I try sometimes
Those seats are beautiful. As a beemer fan boy, I really do appreciate those . Good choice sir 🇬🇧
OMG. You're the first UA-cam person ever to say bride seats correctly. You my friend, is a car god!🎉
awol /stanceworks 2010 ...it was 1st time i see e36 with s54! it was epic! i still have the video!
It's good to see e36m3 still holds the title for best car. I have my e36 m3 still 17years.
In regards to working with CSF to help design an S54-E36 setup.... THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE

I've got a '94 325is2 door that I just inherited. One of these days I'd like to do something cool with it, this is a major inspiration!
Lots of great memories from my E36 ownership days. Had a 1997 318is slick top 20 years ago that in hindsight would have been the perfect donor for a headliner :)
Happy to have helped with THE e36 that has influenced a lot of us!
Nice profile pic love it xoxo
I was in high school don’t judge 😂
Man, somehow I’m new to the channel.. bro your videos are so easy/informative to watch.. my wedding car was a e36 m spec so this one hit… thanks man will be sticking around
Persuading your sponsors to help supports swapped cars is doing the lords work my friend!
MST also did my E46 M Texture interior! Did a good job!
Man I love this build. FWIW there was a company making custom seatbelts for any car but I cannot for the life of me remember the name.
Can't believe it's been so long since an e36 video! Thank you for the content sir!!!
Wow love how far the cars come along man! Look forward to seeing more. I hope that radiator and oil cooler can be mounted on a car that’s equipped with the gt front tray
Still the best bmw e36 coupe from stanceworks.. very very cool car..
The interior is wicked 👌🏼
Oh my 😍 the bride seats with the M tech fabric very very nice touch on the interior! Can’t wait see it finished like all of the projects haha! But honestly really nice touch on the front seats
Holy dream machine. Creampuff cubed 👍🏻👍🏻
This is exactly what I needed right now
So stoked for the E36 drive and enginebay acceleration sound
Love this car, E36 are really great chassis. I had a 1jz swapped e36 that I miss. Hopefully will be able to do another one in the future.
My only complaint about this channel is I want more!
This dude is serious , such a nice E36 👏👌
The E36 is one of my favorite cars. As for the engine bay, a little patina is okay in the engine bay. With a little time, the engine bay can be re-touched.
Loved the sarcasm on all the leaks and spills 😂
I had same idea with interior in M-Rain but with Recaro pole positions but also handbreak and gear shifter covers. Nice job!

All u have to say is "328is" and the coupe part goes with it. A "328i" is a sedan
aweasome video man!!! i hope to have an E36 in the future! cheers from Brazil!!
Shoutout to a fellow unicyclist at 6:11
that intake MONSTROUS!
15:05 Embracing the imperfections. Is not removing a perfectly fine radiator and oil cooler. Because you don't like the hoses and the brackets. That is being the perfectionist that you are ;)
Not sure what rep wing you got but if you could remove the risers and add the wicker bills - chefs kiss.
These new parts are so dope!!! 😉 I hope to hear the sound the next time 😁
I just cannot believe how easy it was for you to change that radiator
E36 episode...hitting the like button before it even starts.
I still have my first car from 15 years old.. they are irreplaceable!!
On EBay… someone is selling Alpina Green stripe interior cloth. I am pretty sure I have seen that cloth for sale as well….the singular green stripe, with the same background as the factory fabric. Pretty cool. I wish you would have known about that fabric on EBay.
That episode was… professional
Damn this car is perfect.
Edit: IMO The only thing the engine bay needs is the radiator support polished or repainted.
Design a taylored strut tower bar in cad. Sounds like super fun project.
Take tour stock seatbelts and send them to an aviation rewebbing company and specify the color you want. When I did the ones in my airplane it was reasonable.
It was weird seeing myself in your videos 😅 had a blast helping with the interior swap!
That's so dope that you're working with manufacturers on new products - kudos
beautiful build, mike. great job! :)

Well said!
LHT always does color matched seatbelts. I don't remember what company he orders from but probably pretty quick to research.
Cant wait when its done!!
I am so glad you got an air filter on there. Good move!
s54 swapped e36 is the S tier build
S52 swapped a base e36?! Looks great sir, I just aquired a 318i and would like to do something similar. Although it would be my first swap. Im considering just taking the n52 out my e60 and calling it a day.
Glass cleaner > degreaser... thanks for that tip!
the cowl cover is still available new from dealer. i just ordered one for e36 m3
The new model bmw makes me love old bmw more.
Beautiful! Except...one thing. The TIG welding on the CSF radiator looks horrible. Everything else is 100%! Congrats!
Really enjoyed this episode 👌
Please Alcantara headliner for sure 🤘
Thanks Mike!
powersteering workin now without the nozzle in original hose? it may cause some problems on high rpms
You listed a few items that would be cool little side projects . You definitely have the ability to make said parts. As always great work. Need more guys like you out there. #magicmike lol
Leaving my wildest dreams. One day I’ll build an e36 or e46 to my ideal spec in my own garage with my own hands😅
In love amazing job brother the car never gets old
Hey qms makes a beautiful strut support bar. Quality motorsports in Poland. Worth every penny and it fists with great clearance. I believe I found them on eBay.
Hope csf can help fix the fitment of the oil cooler to OEM lines. It’s super finicky on what o rings you use.
looks cool. Both the car and the meet
Have you tried the wing without the risers? The car looks perfect, dunno why when I saw the rear 3 quarter shots of the car I thought about removing the risers.
Great video! While TM intake box looks great, it seems that it pulls hot air coming from radiator which kils the power.
Here we go. ✌🏻🇳🇱
Great ! Except the giant spoiler and the "seats"
Dude, this is a solid episode. And GET that schmuny.
What’s going on with the 2002 in the background? I’ve been looking for one for awhile now.
Sick. Love those Brides. Choice.

Oooooh that beauty plate 😍
Just curious- what did you ever do about the non sunroof headliner? Any affordable ones out there?
There was a website that makes custom color seatbelts I can't remember the name but the service is available
Wow wow wow.........and another great WOW again!
Not sure if Rhd is the same but you should hit up Jimmy Oakes to see if he still has his headliner
