Badminton Feeding Skills: How to feed with tempo and precision

  • Feeding is essential, if you want to have quality in your technical training and is important for coaches as well as players! In this video I sum up my favourite tips to increase the tempo and precision with your feeding.

    Great video. Another thing I would add that I see you doing but you didn't mention is to keep the swing nice and compact. This is because you have such a small hitbox when you throw the bird yourself and a loose sloppy swing will often cause you to mishit. Another thing you're doing that's a small detail is that when you swing you're kind of doing a ping pong swing towards the inside of your body. This helps contact the bird because the head of the shuttle is already flying in an outware motion. Can't wait for more great content =)

    Aloha Coach Tobias, accurate feeding is the key to efficient training. My training partner and I work hard to develop our feeding skills. It allows us to focus on mastering shots through repeated feeds. Thank you for explaining all of the fine points of feeding skills. Bravo and well done.

    I have to learn how to "pull" the bird off the stack with my racket hand. I've been dropping the bird off the stack... but, since I'm learning overhead feeding so I can teach defense, I'm learning how. I like the tip of making sure the bird is thrown fast.
