Hi tobias.... I watched most of ur videos.... They are great... U r a good teacher..... I hv improved my smashing techniques watching ur tutorial.... I hv a req. Can u do a video on serve retuns????
Have you checked the video about single tactics: ua-cam.com/video/4E3Uqc7HflQ/v-deo.html And this one is about mental aspects of the game so maybe that helps for your question: ua-cam.com/video/YSuIFChvH4Y/v-deo.html
Great tutorial. Personally, I think mentioning the tension of the racket might help too since the repulsion will be different from each tension. May I ask what is the tension you used here?
Hi Dion, yes really good observation! I use around 13kg (~29lbs) and a BG80. I think the string is also very important. At the moment i try the Aerobite and i think i get even more spin into the shuttle with it
Thank you and yeah I forgot about that string part! Hope you mention them in the coming tutorials. Great great tutorial videos you have. Looking forward to the next ones. Keep it up!
If the opponent is too close to the net, is a better idea to just lift it over him. If he can kill it because your netshot is way to high then try to make your movement with the racket smaller
It is a lot harder to return the shuttle if it spins so for example you can force your opponent to hit the shuttle lower where the shuttle doesn't turn so much anymore or he has to be afraid of hitting the feathers and loosing control over his shots
Coach, I feel now knee pain at playing Shuttle and also using upstairs. I can't doing running, jogging, skipping & jumping. What can I do...? Is have any exercise or practice...? Strengthen videos...? Any physical training..?
How about the direction of racket movement. Spinning the shuttle right to left (demonstrated in the video) but how about left to right. This could be situational, for example when the opponent plays a cross court net to your forehand side and you use the left to right movement instead.
Yes, if you would try to cut right to left in your scenario it is almost imossible to get a lot of spin into the shot and there is also danger, that shuttle slips over your racket. In general it is also hard to spin, if the shuttle is too far beside you or if it flies cross court, so you get the most spin when the shuttle flies straight at you
Very short rotation in the forearm, perfect timing with tightening the grip and giving direction with the wrist. And putting in thousands of hours of practice and having an incredible feeling for the shuttle like Tai. I would say that's it :P
Thank you and appreciate the efforts and clips to beautifully explain the technique of the spins. I always lack confidence about the net return drop but hope this may change my game to the next level. Keep it up, my friend. Good one!
it is really hard to make inwards spinshots when you don't have the shuttle in front of you or the shuttle is flying crosscourt. Outwardsspin is the better option when the shuttle is a little bit besides and also when the shuttle is flying crosscourt
Hi Suhas, thanks for you feedback =) From a lower position it makes almost no sense to spin the shuttle because 1) you need a upwardsmoevement, and that makes it hard to get a lot of spin into your shot and 2) during the way up and over the net it will most likely loose all the spint before your opponent can hit it.
Great tutorial as always Tobi, that detail with the two axes makes a lot of sense 👍 It also makes a difference in which direction you spin the shuttle, doesn't it? As far as I know, the shuttle naturally spins clockwise coming towards you. So you increase the spin with a right-to-left motion (like you showed in the video) and make the shuttle fall faster.
Thank you! Yes you are right, the shuttle always rotates in the same direction so the direction of the movement has a huge impact on the spin of the shuttle. This is also the reason why the shuttle will fly diferently if lefthanders play sliced dropshots or spinshot at the net compared to ridehanded players.
Terrific narrative, slow motion, shooting angle. The best instruction video I have seen so far! Well done Tobias
Unbelievable quality ! Love your tutorials man it's really helping me improve my game keep it up
Thank you so much :)
Great video Tobias ... such good slow motion video about the spin and axis .. appreciate your efforts mate .. really helping lot of players 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you! Glad it helps 😊😊
Amazing slow-mo and side-by-side comparisons of the axes spin difference and explanation! Really helpful, and so beautiful!
Your explanation is easy to understand and learnt many lessons from your sharing. Please continue to share with us. Thank you very much.
Many thanks for the video , extremely helpful. Would like to see avideo on doing a spin short backhand serve.
Never knew about the multiple-axis spin. Thanks so much for explaining. Great Job!
Love your videos man, always so well explained and demonstrated.
Good one but can u also make a video on flick tumble shot plsssss
great explanation on the spins for the shuttle. Love the high quality video close-ups and great camera angles.
Alternative description for your 2 axes description and how to get them: slice and jab for spin and tumble.
Never thought about utilizing 2 spin axes at a time. Something I will definitely give a try in one of my next training sessions! Great video!

Tobias Wadenka thank you will watch and learn from it👍

Amazing tutorial thank you so much! When trying to spin a spin, should you counterspin or spin by following the same direction as the initial spin?
Follow the same direction, otherwise you will most likely hit the feathers and it is almost impossible to control the shuttle
@@tobiaswadenka8435 Thank you!!:)
Hi please make videos on jump smash. How to go from 0 to expert in jump smash. I am not getting the technique for the same
Thanks big brother
He knows what he's talking about.
Beautiful vidoe work to show the axial spins.
Wow two axes. I've never heard before. Great tutorial and video.
Sir good morning singles front court drop and spin the shit both shots when to use sir please tell me sir 🙏
Yeah, absolutely great Video! But the music is much louder than your voice. I hope you will change that in the future.
Thank you for your videos... Calm and to the point... 😊
I will always find difficulty in spinning the shuttle near to net... I have tried loose grip also.. Bt my opponent killed my spin shot.. Plz suggest
If the opponent is too close to the net, is a better idea to just lift it over him. If he can kill it because your netshot is way to high then try to make your movement with the racket smaller
I used this in my match
With a whole year of practice
Spinning left serv
Spinning right long serv
It was very dangerous
Awesome, how often did you practice it and how if I may ask?
Hey bro super amazing
Nice one! Can you make videos on analysing matches of pros!? It'll be great
I would love to do something like that but it is not allowed to use full videos from the broadcasting

Hi Tobias, can you recommend a racket that is good for both smashes n drops...
Which racquet is this?
TQ very much sir ❤❤
Please show this from backhand too
You are just damn 👌 perfect.!!
Very useful tips and I got correct way to spin the shuttle... But, Why we spin the shuttle..? What are the uses for the spin...?
It is a lot harder to return the shuttle if it spins so for example you can force your opponent to hit the shuttle lower where the shuttle doesn't turn so much anymore or he has to be afraid of hitting the feathers and loosing control over his shots

Great
Is this working with nylon shuttle too ?
You can also make them tumble a lot but it is very different to the spin you can give to feather shuttles and it is also hard to control it

Great video. Thank you
Can nylon shuttle be spin?
Yes they can, but they spin differently and it is harder to control it.
I see I am 3 years late to your channel, but I am surprised with the explanation and the effort you put into your video! Thanks!
Better late then never ;) Thank you and all the best!
Why do so many badminton videos have ridiculously repetitive, pounding music?
We’re here for the technicals and the talk......we’re not here to rave!
How to play the 7th point of Tai tzu ying (in the first set) ???

Cool lindan t-shirt btw
Is there any tactical difference making spin inward and outward of the pitch?

How to make a spinning serve
Amazing tutorial 👏👏👏.How to play spinning net shots from lower position in singles?(by the backhand side of racket)
