he has to be the luckiest man when it comes to employees because most people would not put up with old equipment constantly breaking down. One thing to have the old rebuilt equipment on the road opposed to old patched up farm trucks driving around
I've always favored the older trucks. An old truck running good is far better than anything new.

Your Poor old Dad seems to be overwhelmed with work&broken Engines,you all need to get another Full time lead Diesel mechanic to assist your Dad.
What happens when they get caught up just fire the new guy??? Most shops don't run out and hire help when they get behind its usually some kind of expansion that calls for extra help 👍
Tim your Dad didn't seem to be in a very good mood is He feeling okay or just tired from working a lot. That's one thing about your Dad He is a very hard worker constantly on the move always fixing something. You are very Lucky to be Blessed with your Dad and have Him helping you make your company successful and growing and supports you.
You got a decent shop now--and your Dad has to work outside in the gravel?? Get that car out of there-let the trucks that make money get in the shop, man.
Idea to help keep the shop clean and organized - Paint the floor. either go two tone or paint a 3 or so foot strip down each wall and a center strip where the toolboxes are to go. That way there is a visual guide to where crap can and more importantly cannot go. Bonus is easier to clean up spills
So brand new motor and your already feeding it Crack hell of a way to ruin a motor!!!!

@dougjones6823 Hey man, that's your opinion, my opinion is if you use in situation like Timmy did your ok, if you are useing it on a motor that has another issue like a motor that don't stay primed ect and your useing it every start up than a motor has potential to get addicted, however as you can see clearly that's not what Timmy was doing,
I think Dad might need a hand in a shop as you get more and more trucks. Just a thought

Why would you spray a new motor with ether when it strip the oil off the cylinder walls that could cause excessive wear on a brand new engine. No decent mechanic would ever do that, a fully charged set of batteries would help, even if you had to replace the starter sooner it would cheaper than replacing the cylinder sleeve or piston. You always lube the cylinder sleaves WHY SPAY ETHER IT DISOLVES OIL?😱😱😱

Your shop reminds me of the auto wrecker. Were they pretend to fix cars out the back door and sell them.
It seems like it's a proving fact that none of y'all are certified diesel mechanics.Nothing looks cleaned after tooking apart or painted afterwards.to a dirty looking shop, the lot even looks messy too.
My wife and I are both diesel truck mechanics and have always used Matco tools. Recently, we decided the benefits would be better if she went to work for a truck manufacturer. She easily got a job with Peterbilt; however, that move is going to cost us more than we expected. Women working at Peterbilt are required to use Snap-On Tools. She's gonna have to get a whole new box!

Got so much time on your hands to be filming something that most of us ain't feeling cause it's been about 18 months and haven't finished Westens Peterbilt and don't make any excuses bout parts cause them Peterbilt parts are out there cause Jess and Company is getting it done more than you and their struggle is real
There isn’t any excuses we built the truck as we had time and money we were in no rush

Not big into flat tops but the dash board is definitely done up very nicely in it and looks to be one of the better if not best looking dash boards in the fleet.

Tim l have seen other builder reuse a Head Gasket over if the motor has NOT been run and the MOTOR never got HOT and the Head Gasket worked everytime. BUT you are going to get people say NO it's NOT true it won't work l have seen it work BUT it is totally up to you to believe it or not.

thats the fuel cross overs for each head who set the top end on the 359 it doesnt sound right they are totally different set up than an N14 those old 855 dont need either to start
You need me to come out to your place and put them threw the break I n part. I was at a John Deere tractor dealer and they had a fluid break in tank and would keep them under a load a full throttle to make the break in the right way. These old farmers get new motor would just put them around and that’s the worst thing to do so they got this fluid dyno that ran off pTO and full throttle for about 4 hrs and no problems after that every thing would seat in and rings and stuff and it was so cool to hear them crank them and let work hard for about 4 hours after this they no more tractors coming back because they would not work them hard and with a big stack coming out of the roof of the shop .

So what was the check engine light, what fixed it, an those metal gaskets with o rings in them, I've seen people cut those o rings out an replace with a new oring an it hold up an run good , no leaks

I've been seeing the sleeper on the back of a cab where is the middle section where the seats because Weston wanted a four-door truck with a sleeper I haven't seen the other section lately
Westen is going to get a 2 door cab with a 2 door sleeper.

@@andrewb941 It`s a pearl with a blue tinted flake. Up close with the light or sun on it makes it nice, but from a distance,to me, it looks like crap. It needed more blue in it There`s too much contrast.

I have a DDECV ecm and injectors in my 04 Classic XL and have only changed two injectors in 11 years and the ECM just went bad after 13 years…🤷🏼♂️

Could you make those head gaskets. Make them the way you like them , plus you could make enough to sale to other shops
Head gaskets for that engine are made by at least 50 different manufacturers. My uncle owns a crane service and 6 of the cranes have NTC-400 BC3 engines and I do all the mechanical work on then. I tried the Mahle head gaskets and never once had a problem with a head gasket.

Pretty cool he got a new cummins (ISX) together, he got an older cummins (n14) together and he got a Detroit (60series) together and only one he was missing was a Cat engine. But of course if you ask me you don't Need to work on a Cat lol some people are probably going to disagree with me lol I'm a cummins man honestly, but I love them all they are all good except paccar lol
If you have a (Cat, Detroit, or Cummins) your ok in my book lol if you drive anything else we can't be friends😂 with the exception of international engines but for lighter duty applications of course.
That was a big cam Cummins N14 came later.
use a vacume pump on the return line till you get fuel ,no need to ever use ether.
That's not a check engine light it's a SCR after treatment light. If you deleted it the after treatment light will be on till you have all of the after treatment sensors off. I ran into this with a deleted truck I drove
@Gentry&Son Tim got a question I have drove trucks for years mostly front discharge concrete trucks when we did an Inframe on one 99%cummins big company they used called Clark power in Greensboro NC it always cost around $40,000 as a business owner you thank lot of that was there labor or is parts that high keep trucking my friend

I want to know why the blue freightliner fld flattop isn't back yet it was only getting a rear put in it and also where is the pete project that you bought from Sh-tube I want to see that truck start coming together. Also where has bonnie been at? I also know that I've asked this a few times already but I've never heard an answer yet but I always ask when you are going to finally go pick up the matching trailer that goes with Johnny cash cabover because I am really looking forward to it being reunited with Johnny cash the cabover! Also not only do I want to see it back with Johnny cash cabover, but I think that it would match rooster really good aswell, because to me out of all your trucks including the new Pete's as much as I like them I look at rooster as being the top of the line #1 truck of the fleet and since Johnny cashs trailer is basically the same color as rooster and is basically top of the line for a trailer in its day I just think that rooster pulling that trailer that pretty much matches the color of rooster would be an awesome setup to see!

I can take one of them old school Cummins engines and I will do 3 things to it and nothing will touch it , I learned this 25 years ago I have all my specs in my little note book In case I want to build me another big cam Cummins 🕶 Is that X15 deleted tim ??? That is pretty much the only way it's going to put some smoke out , Check engine light I would be checking see what the problem is before I test drove it , When I do an engine for some reason I just never have problems when I test drive them , I guess that is why my nickname is backyard mechanic , I do things correct and precise like my old man said do not fuk with it if you do not know what you are doing , Put a driver in it , well Tim what is going to happen he's going to blow that bitc up , I am glad PAPA has the floor in the shop , If he did not have the floor and knows what is going on there I imagine the engine would blow up before it even had a chance to go down the interstate 😂😂 I would not use no damn starting fluid starting a new engine or a old engine , You are going to bust compression rings on the pistons It happens all the time or crack liner , That is OK papa forgot to put a clamp on , He can not do his work and put all his attention on everybody else to make sure they are doing their job right , But that is why he gets paid big bucks or I have a feeling Papa would not be there , The old school trucks they are so simple to work on and repair nothing like the new ones , New ones are little harder , Sometimes the little rubber oil rings are not placed correctly on the cross over pipes on the heads , That is probably where it is coming from, I say it all the time if you want to be a mecdanic and you think you are a mechanic ??? it takes you a lot of years to be a mechanic , Pull the Cross over pipes off there is no oil rings or they could be cracked , I hate to say but I am going to say it , who ever built that engine I do not think they knew what they was doing that engine looks like it's never been touched and I am looking at some of the other parts and other things on it , looks like a Mickey Mouse job , well tim that is your mechanics fault for not checking the head correct and precise , Just talking to you and being straight up , I do not know who built that engine but somebody does not know what the fuk they are doing , I hope Papa did not build it , Drive through shop is nice no matter what size it is , But to some women sized does matter Tim 😂😂😂 she going to be a nice Pete when you are done , Hopefully you will put bus windows in it , They are really nice and that truck will look really good with bus windows
