@@kgblagden Sure, they don't even mention the Bydo in this game but personally I'd like to assume that they're the TRUE masterminds behind the events of this game's storyline. So basically you're fighting the final boss before it has entered the "Bydofication" process.
The bosses seem relatively ok to handle but the difficulty really does ramp up from boss 4 onwards with so many dangers on screen and from different angles making hard to keep focus on hit the target let alone avoid being hit!

It should have been available as a re-release at least.
This game has really good graphics, music, and sound design for its time.
The 3rd boss Forres is by far my favorite and the most R TYPE HR Giger looking
05 is in R-type Final 2 and that whole stage is a pain.

You're sure this is R-Type? Doesn't seem anywhere near grim enough. If not for the Leo anyone would think this was some other generic space shooter.
