Isabel, I'm totally fan-girling you. These tuts are so helpful at demystifying AD. It's giving me so much confidence, I feel better about abandoning my *expensive* relationship with Adobe. Please keep making them. You have a great way of explaining the concepts.
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I had no idea Designer had so much color swatch/palette options and it helps take away the guesswork from designing! You've gained a new subscriber :)
As always a great video and so helpful. Shame they don't add an option where you get a selection of all the various complimentary colours and shades and tints all with one click though. Great work Isabel.
@@isabel_aracama I love your channel and have watched many of your videos, can't believe I have only just subscribed, this video just blew my mind' I had no idea this was possible, can't stop playing with it now, so grateful to you..
Thanks Tony! Well, it is better later than never. Glad to help and even more glad to see there's people that actually bothers letting me know :) Big kiss from Spain!
Thanks again for all these great explanaitons! I also found out that you can drag swatches dierctly onto a shape and aplly them (if you have a large screen, that whole clicking business between the shapes and the swatches can be a bit too much :) )
Thanks so much! I really was looking for this. I have subscribed your channel long ago but I missed this. lol Also I have question about using color theory in design. I see form this video you use color wheel that red is complementary to cyan which is a RGB color wheel. But when I look at the design lesson from books and articles, many times they use the RYB color wheel that red is complementary to green. So I'm confused now as to what color wheel should I use in my work. Is it about screen and print thing? Like for example, If I want to design something that only appear on screen then I can use RGB color wheel and when I want to print my design I can use RYB color wheel? Sorry If the question is too long and also my terrible grammar.
Hi p A good rule of thumb is anything dealing with the web should always be in RGB and printed material should be in CMYK. However, many printers support RGB colours for printed materials which result in more vibrant colours. I leave here a couple of links where this is explained more in depth. In the video the traditional RYB wheel is compared to the more modern CMYK Hope this helps you a bit. ua-cam.com/video/yRQmV4XYmqI/v-deo.html www.decalimpressions.com/company-info/blog.html/article/2018/06/05/the-difference-between-cmyk-and-rgb-in-digital-printing
Thanks so much for this, Isabel! I hadn't known of it. :) Question: Is there a way to create a palette of colors I'd use often. For example, if I have a brand with certain colors, can I save them somewhere so that I don't have to keep entering the RGB or HEX codes each time I want to use them? :)
Thanks for your comment. Sure there is. Check the swatches panel top right menu. You have there the options to either extract from a file or to add new colour swatches and name and store your palette for future uses. 🌹
Hola Citlalli hg.
Can I ask when you create a color chord , is it temporary or does it create new permanent System, Application or Documents palettes.. why I am asking is should I create a palette specifically for this exercise so these color chords don’t get ‘saved’ to whatever palette I am currently on. .? I hope my question makes sense. When I was first learning to save colors I saved random colors and they got onto my Greys panel and it’s a mess:/... of course I can delete them but I use those colors:/
Hi Alicen Wonderland - In the case you create a System or Application palette, it will be kept in the swatches panel for any document in the app or for your OS (i.e If I save a system palette in AD, when I open AP I will have it there too in the swatches panel). In the case you create it for a given document, it will only show in that one document. If you don't create a new palette, it will be added as you say to whatever palette you're on at that moment as an appication palette. The best is to create a new palette (either system, document or app palette depending on which type you need) and keep your colour chords there well organised. Hope I answered your question.
Hi scar pos. The option to create a colour chords from an image isn't currently in the iPad version. But it has been requested. Can't say much more cause I don't use an iPad. forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/60293-creating-color-chords-option-missing/

Justo encontré esta opción la semana pasada y no sabía cómo funcionaba exactamente, gracias por el tutorial!
All this was new to me. Thanks as always. Adobe Designer should hire you.
Adobe? ;)
Isabel Aracama hahaha Affinity, I meant. That’s a Freudian slip. I’ve totally abandoned Adobe 😂
Jajajaja.

Awesome video and channel! Are there ways to bind the generation of those chords to shortcuts?
Hi Nihon. No, there's no possibility to do that as of today.
Perfect!!!
Nice

What font do you use there?
Gracias! solo una duda, ¿hay alguna opción similar a Illustrator para seleccionar los objetos de un mismo color?
