    As a retired teacher, from a white poor background. I do believe that the problem today for working class children from all races is the dumbing down of the curriculum, and lack of discipline in our schools. Proper discipline comes from tough love. You care about every child and you do the very best for them as a teacher and that is by zero tolerance of bad behaviour. The carrot and the stick, but the telling of the pupil why you are disciplining them, that is because you care about how their lives work out and you don’t want them to make a mess of it. You have to teach respect for all and show the children this is expected, and pulling each other to pieces is not to be tolerated. I am a christian ( church of England) background and this is what I believe is missing from education today. You teach that you treat everyone as you would want to bectreated and you do not deviate from this. You are right Candice. In Glasgow we had knife crime and gangs exactly like London today. It is not just one race this happens to, there are other factors at play here. What I believe also is that for people to be violent towards others is that they have not been taught properly at home. That is not to say I am blaming parents because they can only do what they think is the right thing to do, and if they were shouted and sceamed out by their parents then they will do this to their children thinking this is how it should be done, making angry children who strike out without thinking and ruin theirs and others lives. I do believe that Anger Management should be taught in schools as a must. Nowadays expectations are low of working class or single parent households from the management of schools, this I have fought against all my life, to no avail, as it seems no one will care about the children.
    I have seen where everything has gone wrong since the 60s and I do believe proper education is the key to everything. The 3 Rs for all kids is a must. We must have them all reading and writing there is no excuse. All children whatever their outward appearance have the capacity for greatness if we teach them kindness, and tolerance, and teach them to love education and see it as a stepping stone to something else. We need to make sure no one is left behind. What I found with the lowest achievers is a giving up, and that is what we need to guard against. They have to be given examples in school of people who have achieved even though they had a disability or found things hard. Hopefully money will be found in uk and usa to fund better and proper education because I believe that is the key. Love and best wishes

      Beautiful post, and I agree with almost all of it. Here in the U.S., though, money is not the problem, as we spend more on our education system than almost anybody. The problem is the teachers' unions, far left critical pedagogy, and the lack of will to actually educate and discipline students, rather than politically and socially engineer them.

    From the age of 7, I grew up without a father. Instead, I became the "father" figure. My siblings became prosperous and live well in happy relationships. I on the other hand am poor and alone. That is partly because I had no father figure myself to rely on. I am happy that my siblings are well and live well. That is enough. I can say that without a father to lean on it is difficult to become a well-rounded individual. Family is more important than ever in America.

    "The solution to race in America? Stop talking about it." - Morgan Freeman. I think PragerU should take that advice as well.

    • @jnorvil
      @jnorvil 3 роки тому +2

      Interesting point! That was good advice from Freeman. Herman Cain said something similar when asked about how he dealt with color and race while climbing the corporate ladder: "I didn't. Let them deal with it. I didn't focus on that. I didn't have time." However, such counsel would probably leave Candace with a conundrum. She was once a left-leaning liberal. Now, as Paul the Apostle did with Israel, Candace mourns Black America, particularly those who remain subjugated by the illiberal groupthink of leftism. Having tasted such refreshing freedom from leftist indoctrination, she can't bear to see her fellow African Americans go without experiencing the same.
      Don't get me wrong; Morgan Freeman's statement sounds like sage advice. But in a world where the vast majority of mainstream media inculcates the masses with racially divisive reportage, it may be counterproductive or even concessive for conservatives like Candace Owens, Charlie Kirk, Brandon Tatum, Ben Shapiro, etc. to stay silent on topics of race relations. So, perhaps PragerU finds it worthwhile to address the issue if it means offering an alternative viewpoint and potentially saving upcoming generations from embracing destructive lies and crippling beliefs.

There was definitely a time where unions were necessary, back when a lot of workplace safety and basic stuff like a standard work day and other things were not codified into law. Now unions serve as nothing more than self-perpetuating bureaucratic lumbering behemoths who suck up dues and shovel them into the coffers of their preferred political candidates who then turn around and get voted into office and become the approval authority of the very contracts that pertain to the unions who helped get them into office. But I'm sure there's no conflict of interest there right?
