      @@Powerhaus88 that's preposterous to suggest that someone, after 33 years of marriage, get a paternity test solely on the basis of "they got married quick."
      Most women would be willing to get married quickly.
      Perhaps if a normal sized baby was born 7 months after their wedding there would be a reason to question paternity, there's no evidence of that.

We’ve now been married over 42 years, and 10 grandchildren. Spectacular life we’ve lived between Canada and Australia. She is wonderfully conservative and just wanted to be an amazing mother and wife - I literally struck gold all those decades ago. I’m glad I had the insight and worthy priorities at 22 years old.

There's more to it than just meeting someone and sparks flying off. I see people have Sparks and they fly off the handle later so it doesn't work all the time like the way you think. You two deserve each other, seem made for each other.
    As a 62 year old Daddy with girls ranging from 6 to 32 years old , let me just say : He hits all the high marks in my protective Dad scorecard.
    And when you know,you KNOW. Twenty years ago I came home from the West to visit my father in southern Georgia. He was dying of emphysema and I shelved my busy life as an environmental activist in Portland to be there for Dad's last days. I also finally met Dad's ''Angel'' , his home caregiver who had kept him alive 3 years past his 6 month prognosis.
    The day before he left us,Dad made a request. He asked me to take''Angel '' to High Falls park after his funeral . He said to go sit with her on the big rock below the falls, where he had taught me flyfishing. ''She's gonna take this pretty hard and its a pretty place.''
    Dad knew before we knew. Watching his radical Lefty son interacting with the Conservative Evangelical girl who had saved him a dozen times. Seeing us holding hands and praying for him.
    At High Falls we sat on Dad's rock together. A shooting star streaked across the sunset. We turned to each other and KNEW. ''Lets get married''. She said it first. I said it in the next breath.
    We had not even kissed yet. I went home with her that night and slept on her couch. She was and still is devoutly Christian.After a 3 week engagement ,sleeping on her couch, we wed . When you KNOW,why wait?
    Our friends thought we were crazy. We were'nt and you and George are'nt either.
    Its been almost 20 years now. Our girls are 6 and 9 years old. They do not watch TV. They are homeschooled. They cook,sew,write fiction, play music and garden. And yes they can internet. You, Ms. Owens, are their favorite ''Warrior Princess''.They want to be like you. . Our family greatly admires you,Candace.
    An Oxford educated, open minded conservative who can hunt. A guy who wisely works lower risk base metals instead of higher risk funds. And he can shoot something and build a fire if it all falls down. George hits high marks on my ''Dad Scorecard''. Congratulations ,you both deserve this blessing.

      That's amazing. I've been seeing a lot of comments like that here and I can't help but feel it's because the culture in the past was so different. Now we have a culture of individualism and that people are disposable and there may always be something better out there. Can you explain to me the culture around romantic relationships when you were young? I'm so intrigued by it and would love to know. By the way I just turned 30. =)

      @@monalisa4709 The long engagement helped, of course, but I feel like when you know, you know. My now husband and I had a similar set of values, goals, and were in a place in our lives where we were ready to move on to the next step. The long engagement was only because we were both still in graduate school and not financially independent from our parents yet. I do believe that when two people get married, then their parents have to stop supporting them financially, otherwise you're just playing house with someone else's money.
      I don't understand dating for years (as adults), waiting to get married. A person doesn't change-so either you love them and everything that comes with them or you don't. Dating someone for years, hoping something is going to change, is a recipe for disappointment.

      Will Woodfall Yes submit to male authority. It also tells the male to submit to his woman. The man that was in my life was calling me a weirdo for going to church. Cursing at me and calling me names. I’m not submitting to that. And we aren’t married so I can leave the situation. He claimed to be a believer but has troubles following Christ. Christ tells people to invite them in which I tried to do many time. If they say no, they’re not saying no to you. But to God. I did not get that far in life for a proposal, although I almost had one. It wasn’t right at the time. So daughters of God can have a man which means in modern times, dating someone. Languages change through the centuries. God probably gave it to me so I could give it to him. Sometime God works through people to get to others. He has to seek God. He’s not seeking him so he didn’t receive the word. But I can relay the message

    • @whatzittooyah
      @whatzittooyah 5 років тому +4

      And throughout all of that. I still told him that I love him. I have no bad blood because I know he has a hold on him that he has yet want to give up. Even though I tell him. I invited him to come to church with me. He doesn’t want to. I even was reading scriptures to him. I was bringing God’s word to him. He just chuckles and move on. He did tell me he believes in God.

      @Will Woodfall
      "Where in Scripture are you commanded to go to 'Church'?"
      Answer: Hebrews 10:25
      "Doesn't Scripture tell you to submit to male authority?"
      No it does not. See Ephesians 5:22. It says for a woman to submit to her OWN husband. That is different from submitting to men.
      __________________________________________________
      The other questions don't make sense to me but I can say to you sincerely, if YOU are born of the Spirit (i.e. born again), then YOU need to know the Bible much better than revealed by your post, OR don't bring up what the Bible says. No offense intended but I'm sooooooooooo weary of people misquoting, or twisting, or cherry-picking scripture. I'm done with it. Know this - The King of ALL Kings is coming. I encourage YOU to get ready so that you're not surprised at His arrival. And Will?, I suggest that you start at Genesis and read it slowly, day-by-day, all the way to Revelation. Just as Yeshua (Jesus) said, MANY would proclaim Him and deceive MANY).

      We were a long distance romance. I was in Detroit, she was in Brooklyn, NY We met online and, after the 3rd-4th email, exchanged photos. (Clued in by her use of language that she was AA, I had subtly alerted her to the fact that I was of Scotch / Irish ancestry ie: white. If that was ever going to be a problem, it's best for it to happen at the start, before emotions run deep. If racial preferences have a place, it is in the selection of a life-mate.) Over the course of the next six months we met for four dates. On the fourth date, she wore white and I gave her the other part of the ring set, I having proposed during the first date. We had talked and written about so much that all I needed still to consider was how it felt to be in her presence. She was in town for a religious convention and I was with her a lot of that time.
      I DO highly recommend that the two share a religion. My wife and I not only shared a religion, but we also became disenchanted at about the same time and left it together.

    I met my spouse, and the night we met, I knew he was the one it was just a knowing. Later, I found out that he felt the same exact way. A little back ground months prior to meeting my spouse, I had been preparing for my wedding it was an act based on faith. I had prayed, and prayed to meet someone and felt that I needed to plant that mustard seed of faith. Three months after buying a cheap wedding dress and accessories we met. He had been on a few dates with another woman who he the day after our first date called her to say he would not see her again and asked me to marry him 3 months later. We then married six months in, and that was 12 years ago. GOD is GOOD, and FAITHFUL.
