The issue is that it is a positive displacement pump that meters the fuel precisely. If you use a free flow pump you would need a metering valve that did much the same thing. I use my cdh full blast so I don't hear the pump amd im not sleeping nearby.
@@newenglandlife978 there are other positive displacement pumps like peristaltic pumps used in medicine but they aren't really good at tiny volumes. And a metering valve would look a lot like an automotive fuel injector. And they click. I've thought of getting a pound of modeling clay or better, ductseal, and just deadening the thing.
@@newenglandlife978 Yes quite a few actually. Try isolating the body of the car and the pump with more rubber. Perhaps wrap the pump with sounddeadening material and enclose the whole ensemble with a plastic case/box you may have laying around. There is also a case they make for the pump itself that supposedly helps with noise. On top of that if everything else fails, there is an extra silent pump they make, but with shipping it costs just as much as the entire heater itself.

I think the noise would actually help me sleep better, kind of like being on a train
