Actually, Stuyvesant high school is a public school and even though it's located in Tribeca, the students travel from all five different boroughs of New York City. So, generally the student population isn't rich and most of them travel an hour on public transportation every morning to get a better education.
It is not about the students being rich, but the school has a strong Alumni that gives back TONs of money. The city also upkeeps the school more than other DOE school because Stuy become a symbol of American school for the international Wall St.
Jeremy Lin is too cool! I heard of him a lot, saw tons of his basketball news threads, but this is the first time I see him on the video. And this video just shows how passionate he is. and he is just awesome and is too careful for others !! Thumbs up!!
Bro, you're so funny :) I miss your videos. Great of you to at least reply to their request even though you couldn't make the engagement. Congrats to the graduating class!
What a class act! Keep being a great rolemodel and inspiration, Jeremy. Congrats on all your success you've made for yourself. Look forward to seeing you back at MSG soon.
That was really sweet of him to take the time to make this video. Other celebrities wouldn't give the time of day. Proud of him for being such a good role model.
with all this you tube video your agent could probably sign you for a movie contract. Space Jam 2 perhaps??? nice video its so cool to see that you encourage this generation of youth to do their best in all their endeavors. And yeah the glasses, loved them
Fantastic vid! He should have added, "If you don't have a passion, you'll find a burning one someday. Till then, have fun and try out/study a lot of different things!"
I just can not help watching it again and again. Soooooo cute, JLin is like the guy in my church or my neighborhood, even in my family, everyone can get alone with him.
He's an AMAZING human being. Forget the sports for a bit, he's just the warmest, nicest person. I can't imagine another big sports star doing this for their fans. They probably think they're too cool for anything.
Lin is the first full-blooded Asian American to play in the NBA for longer than 5 games (Wat Misaka played 3 games). He's the first full-blooded Asian American to play in the NBA since 1947 (again, Wat Misaka - and the all-caucasian league was called the BAA back then). The other "Asian Americans" since have had only one parent of Asian descent. And Lin is the first Chinese or Taiwanese American player in the NBA, ever, NBA or BAA or ABA, full-blooded or not.
Well you have a point, but that's because the poor kids become rich later on and they'd like to give back to the school that paved the way for their success. I mean who would want to restrict alumni from giving donations? Its free money. Also, since Stuy is a high performing school the money they get is well deserved. Money should be given for high performance not the other way around.
it's real funny, especially you see the invitation first. Jeremy is trying to do the similiar things from the invitation video.. thats's why the award rap, extra hand gesture and Kevin Lin XDDDD
we will just have to see. I'm pretty confident about the knicks this season even with all the drama. And even if knicks get beaten the heat knows they have the most difficult match-up this first round. The pacers are probably jumping up and down knicks didn't make the sixth seed.
ha... another fun video.. man ... i'd like Lin to put on his nerd glasses, very gentle as a student... it's my fist time to hear he speak Mandarin.. Go Lin. We will wait for you for play off!!
Haha:)Jeremy you're way too cute and hilarious! Love u! Nice video~it's Linspiring but Linsane in the end! The last part is so funny and crazy~I just keep laughing LOL btw, I enjoy hearing you speaking Chinese^^
Don't Talk about my man Lin that way, he is a great player and person. An average celebrity would not have cared enough about this school to make a video that used multiple outtakes and was funny. -Go Jeremy Go Stuy
This kid's great for taking the time to respond to those students. Haters have seriously ridiculous reasons for hating this kid.smh If you're going to say he's overhyped, then please mention his overhyped TOs. Nash, Rondo, D-Williams, etc. All these great PGs in the league are making the same number of or even higher number of TOS than Lin and they have an average of 4-7 years of experience more than him. Learn shit before you talk shit.
lol I thought he was saying "one short wonder" before crashing into the coach. I didn't realize that he was actually speaking chinese until you pointed it out......."I'm done with my talking" haha
I wouldn't call college a blessing if anybody out there can get a student loan fairly easily, it's no wonder so many graduates are underemployed or out of work.
In 70 years, I'm gonna tell my grand kids that Jeremy Lin, the first asian american Baller in the NBa sent a personal message to my High School. SWAG!!

He's just too adorable to be real.
People who go to Stuy aren't rich whatsoever. Why do ppl assume that?
papertiger7 What highschool and occupation did you go to and currently pursue?
It is not about the students being rich, but the school has a strong Alumni that gives back TONs of money. The city also upkeeps the school more than other DOE school because Stuy become a symbol of American school for the international Wall St.
how bout u stop complainin n just get smarter

I always look forward to the behind-the-scenes in his vids, that's where he shows his true self. :) And he needs to make more personal vids!
Jeremy is the positive influence to the young and youth, God bless him. He deserve to be the TIME's 100 most influence around the world.
"Don’t let people tell you that you can’t do." Jeremy really gives his heart to made this video.
Wearing his glasses like a boss. He is so cute..
Fantastic vid! He should have added, "If you don't have a passion, you'll find a burning one someday. Till then, have fun and try out/study a lot of different things!"
This is cool! I'm sure the students will appreciate Lin's response and efforts.

Aw too bad he can't make it, but its great that he shouted out the people in the video.

It's amazing how down to earth Jeremy Lin is.
we will just have to see. I'm pretty confident about the knicks this season even with all the drama. And even if knicks get beaten the heat knows they have the most difficult match-up this first round. The pacers are probably jumping up and down knicks didn't make the sixth seed.

The last 5 seconds was worth it.
That was a really good and original come back. Did your mom come up with it cause it looks like she also taught you how to spell :)

The funny thing is like 15 kids got hyped when he said Kevin Lin
