    Could see this coming from a mile away. Both goalies in-front of Trav are significantly better. This is the problem with having a less than stellar resume. Trav needs guys to get called up or get hurt, to sniff playing time. He's basically been hired on as the teams social media / marketing coordinator, same as Motor City. He doesn't train properly to increase athleticism or explosiveness. Not to mention those things don't appear over night. I'm hoping he can turn it around but seems like another long season to come.

      @laszlotamasik5139 7 місяців тому +19

      I was looking for this statement. And I agree. I watched the live stream where the 3 goalies split. They are much faster in their movements. Trav would benefit from quick feet off-ice, sprints and plyometric training. But as you said, it takes time to develop and the motor pathways are usually developed in our younger years.

    • @Jermont86
      @Jermont86 7 місяців тому +4

      I find the issue is that he lacks explosiveness and athleticism, but at the same time, he doesn't have elite reflex. He works hard, but he needs to do more to catch up to others.
      On top of that, he has played less than a handful of games in the past few years.

      Trav is a UA-camr that plays hockey. The team is interested in him because he brings subscribers, videos and a podcast. If not for his social media presence, he would be in a beer league. This is his fantasy camp.

    His ex gf is howling as she watches this video. I have grown to like Trav and he’s grown up a lot in the last few years. Seems like he’s a better person. The problem is he’s just not very good at hockey and is just getting old. He will be done by December in Watertown sadly, and hopefully he uses his media talents to get somewhere and move onto the next phase of his life.

    You are not in the Fed because you are a top of the line goalie, same goes for the ECHL and even the NHL. Something’s gotta change Trav. I see ya doing all the training and working on your game and you are improving. That said, we gotta get a “wow” factor in your game. Right now your game looks like you’ve been training hard. We gotta get some creativity and game breaker explosiveness in your bag. Seeing what I have, you being the third string isn’t going to change any time soon until you show the team you’re the one. Stand out and play like you’re a 5’10” goalie.

They had a better team but because of my performance (Kept it 0-0 despite being heavily outshot) in the first period we got the W 3-4 in the end. They had a lot of 3rd division players so it was a difficult match but i managed. I remember asking you back about 2 and a half years ago if i was too old to start and here i am battling and winning games against 3rd and 4th division players already in my 2nd year as a goalie so thank you for giving me the courage to play and do what i love!

    Totally rooting for Trav and have seen significant improvement. The goalies in front of him have higher level experience…..one has been on OHL highlight reels with some pretty big save % numbers in that league.
    Life isn’t easy….if it was, there would be 250 players in each team, 20 goalies on each roster and each league would have 300 teams to fill those rosters.
    Trav isn’t trying to achieve the easy thing.
    So Keep pushing Trav! You never know which random day or injury will bring opportunity knocking. You are there for the Fed journey. Not a single season.

    Nice video. Well, there's two ways to get faster in nets. 1. Lose weight and maintain the same strength. If the team has a nutritionist, maybe you can talk to him or her. 2. Stay at the same weight and gain strength. If the team has a strength and conditioning coach, maybe you can talk to him or her. You being taller than the other goalies, it is going to take more effort to get faster than shorter goalies.

He will emphasize that “hockey isn’t for fun” and shade online commenters by saying, “let’s see your EliteProspects page.”
      Because it is his entire identity, Trav would rather die than have people think he is a rec level goalie. So, he scraps and claws for roster spots in no-pay or low-pay pro leagues where he can’t compete with the other goalies. He honestly does everything EXCEPT enjoy the game of hockey.

    Sorry man but I don't see any major pro hockey in your future. You need to gain muscle twitch like martial artist have which will increase your speed

    Hola! Look what kind of food your eating (i onoe its free) go back to vegetarian clear up your blood flow. As a 53 yr old goalie i pound back a large Tims 1 hr before playing young players and spend off hours visualizing speed. Fuer man... Fuer.

      ..and i always recall speed from reactive speed when a punch or 3 are flying at my head or how i have 1/4 second to react when falling down a transition to concrete off a skateboard.. all makes a puck seem slow.
