1:40 unironic icy is correct here.because “specimen six” is what’s known as a praetorian or however it’s spelled I forgot which are elite defenders of the hive and the queen. 21:47 again icy is correct here, when the queen of the hive dies the strongest praetorian undergoes a transformation to take her place should the praetorian fail to become a queen it will evolve into a carrier which carry’s face huggers on its back.however should it be successful then indeed it would become the new queen.
This is false. Praetorians are much larger and have a much more developed crest, and prefer to fight head on due to their bulk. 6 is just an especially cunning warrior. Her form at the end cutscene just before moulting is definitely a praetorian though.
@@googleyoflolz9930 "Aliens vs. Predator," which came out in 2010. (For reference, that was about the same time as Halo: Reach and the original Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine.)
I'm REALLY excited someone covered this game after all this time.* It's one of my favourite games of all time. *(most playthroughs are over 9 years old at this point.)
For everyone that wants those type of games, there are 2 cool Alien games on Roblox, one being called "Alien survival tribute" and another one is "Alien prototype" Both are cool in their own way, Alien survival tribute has lower graphics and worse models but it has a bigger map with a self destructable space station and a planet and more accurate Xeno's in terms of strenght and more human sub-roles, such as scientist, test subject, colonies or Space Marines, in both of the games you can play as Predator, Alien and humans. While the other one has better models and graphics and a whole Xenomorph life cycle, with not only going from a Facehugger to a Drone, but also having life stages such as Warrior, Praetorian and Queen or a spitter if you get a dog host. There will be also sub-species, as there are already Red Aliens. Overall, i think you should check out those games.
A Xenomorph game with Arkham Knight stealth mechanics would be pretty cool. Imagine the marines freaking out as they all go missing. Or them turning on a motion tracker while you're behind them and they react to it. Could have a system where you can swap out xenos, so you can play as a runner/drone/warrior/praetorian/spitter. Would probably be top tier. As a side note if anyone's looking for more games where you can play as the monster, I know Carrion is one, not sure about others though, not ones that deliver that specific feel, there are games like Heroes Of Might And Magic and Age Of Wonders where you can play the dark/eldrich factions, but it's not the feel people might be looking for with a game where you play the monster. That and probably Jaws Unleashed/Man Eater where you play as a shark, even though that's not really a monster, "animal that hunts people" follows the formula closely enough.
I've played the human and predator campaigns maybe once, didn't find them all that impressive. But the alien campaign? A dozen times, easily. There's something hypnotizing about it, something I've never seen before nor since. Edit: Holy shit, how could I forget?!? There is another game that feels like this, maybe not exactly but the vibes are in sync. PROTOTYPE, if you haven't played it before you have to do yourself a favor and play PROTOTYPE.
I played this way a long time ago (tbh, I shouldn't have; I was WAY too young), and I remember saying the exact same thing when it ended. I LOVED playing as a xeno.
Honestly, the AvP game by monolith was cooler because you play as a facehugger, chest burster and then finally a warrior. But Rebellion made a fantastic title as well. Really want more games in this vein.
I was once part of multiple AVP clans and I miss terrifying my enemies, I never charged straight in, I would hiss, run by and do fake outs until they were firing at shadows before the others would blitz in after me causing chaos while I would pick off the runners.
This is literally my Favorite Alien game. This is what got me into the franchise. I'm glad you enjoy it! Btw, you can harvest every civilian you come across. You just have to get creative. The guy who blew himself up, try taking the lights out above then jumping down to say hi.
When you talk about the way you feel about the game, I think the closest would be Prototype. In both you are sort of the product of the real villain of the story and you are a super powerful entity that can be put down with enough force.
This game was my childhood and remains to be one of my favourites of all time to this day, the only one I ever put effort into learning the speedrunning route for and mastering the higher difficulties. Ironically my favourite part about the game, both then and now, was watching my friends play it after I'd recommended it to them and seeing them slip into their preferred playstyles and which campaign best suited the way they played. Comfort game fr fr.
I want more games like this where you get to play as the monster. The AVP games are so much fun and getting to play as both the alien and predator is such a unique experience that i've not really seem anywhere else. Completely difeerent type of game but evolve also scratched that itch for me before it got taken down. Just getting to be a ruthless killing machine leaping and bounding through the environment or stealthily stalking your victims whilst staying perfectly out of sight, it's just such a fun and cool concept that I wish was explored more.
First played this on my dads PS3 and man i instantly fell in love with the game, dont help i watched the movies as a kid, never got freaked out by them because i loved the xenomorphs so much 😂
This niche genre of “you are the monster” horror games holds a special place in my heart and I wish more were created in the modern day because they seem to have faded into a rarity. My first exposure to anything like this was experiencing Jaws: Unleashed for PS2. It was one of my favorite games as a kid and I played it over and over again.
I still watch you and igp play Generation Zero and lmao the whole time. I glad you are still on youtube and you keep your head held high my good sir! My mom is Scottish and looks kinda like a elve but she is full of fire. Thank you for what you do sir!
I still play AvP & Alien Colonial Marines to this day. Met alot of my current friends from online days of AvP when I first moved to the city a decade ago
MAaaan... I loved this game. I played it with my brother and we used to take turns. I remember having the most fun playing the aliens and he really loved playing the predators. This was a nostalgia trip.
I 100% agree with what you said on the gameplay. This game makes absolutely incredible job at making you feel like an actual perfect organism made for hunting, while still preserving living creatures' natural vulnerability
I now wonder if the Queen, who clearly favours Six in some way, made sure that Six (a Drone) could evolve to a Queen despite not coming from a Queen egg. Long live the Matriarch (Six's Queen).
This game was so before it's time. i remember playing the campaigns so many times when i was younger because i couldn't get enough. not to mention the horror of playing the humans.
I love that this game is getting more attention. I wish more publishers and developers would realize the potential for games where you're 'the monster'. I' really love an open world game here you cause chaos and hunt the humans out there in the world towards some goal. Or even just open-ended with radiant objectives to go out and mess things up. The potential of something like Evolve was wasted on a PvP arena, it could have made an incredibly fun open world rampage game where you slowly grow and transition between forms over the course of a long campaign to drive the human colonists off your world.
Ah, AvP(2010), loved playing this game when I was younger. Though in multiplayer the Xenomorphs definitely got shafted, considering that both the Predators and humans(but only with certain weapons) could both see them and kill them either very quickly or straight up instantly from afar. You really couldn’t rush the enemy down unless you either had a significant numbers advantage, or the enemy had terrible aim.
I remember playing this so much as teenager, but I was always terrified to play the marine because the one time I xenomorph jumped out right in front of me and I almost pissed myself and after that, I just never touched that story but I played the crap out of alien and predator, but I avoided marine
You won’t believe how many times I replayed this game on the Xbox360 as a kid. My parents got worried that it was too gruesome. As I grew older, I would revisit it over the years, eventually being brave enough to beat the Marines campaign.
This game gave me my personal record for disseminating a whole team of Marines in less than 8 seconds in infestation mode in multiplayer, not to mention my overall scores going solo destroying marines and predators alike in mixed TDM and Species TDM. James Cameron can shove his aliens and his stupid hive mind BS where the sun doesn't shine. This game is the reason why i love Xenos i may even identify as one. I remember expecting people to actually be good marine players since they had COD, they just could not keep up with the xenomorph's speed.
I know there's another avp game somewhere, its older than this one and has older graphics, so less polygons lol, but i remembered watching it the rush of avp video game stuff i watched when i was aroun 11-13 i also was so happy to experience this campaign a few years ago since my uncle owns a copy of this on his ps3, and again I was met with such sadness at the shortness of the campaign 😭💀 I really hope avp game like this is made in the future again, as the different gameplay for each campaign is just awesome to see, having the perspectives of not only ourselves as humans(marines), but as both the xenomorphs(aliens), and yautja(predators). Its cool and all fighting creatures that otherwise could kill us easily, but to be able to play as the creature fighting what would be us, is a different experience entirely, as you play, you get into the feeling, of being the monster that you feared originally, and move as if it were second nature, and not even be disoriented as terribly, sometimes not even at all, as you've jumped into the game and became one with the creature. Its just such a cool thing to be able to do, as its unfortunately not as often of a feature in games as it could be.
you may be talking about avp2 cause this game is basically avp3. alot of people love avp2 and avp3 is a weaker version of it from what i heard. even reuses maps. but i still love this game. just wish the campaigns were longer. predator and alien campaign were extremely short. alien ESPECIALLY.
I freakin loved playing this game back when pc-game arcades were still a thing. Get locked inside a building overnight with like 20 other people who were all playing on rented high end PCs, and we just swapped around between a few other games for hours on end, but this one was always the best.
The Alien Campaign was honestly one of my favorite things EVER, easily in my top ten games by itself! I just wish we got MORE!! They NEED to release another game like this, with these kinds of mechanics, and just make it an 80-hour deal. THEY COULD TAKE ALL MY MONEY
I miss this game so much, I wish they made a current gen version, I used to play this a ton and did all the campaigns on the hardest difficulty and a ton of multiplayer
By far best AvP Game and by far most Brutal between Alien & Predator Story Edit: when new Players Experience AvP, Reactions are priceless. Specially when its the Alien Story (Most ive seen more than Predator Side)
I always play AVP2 for the art, atmosphere and a couple of other things but AVP '10 is always a good action romp. It just takes the second games Xeno movement and refines it to a amazing degree! Hope we get to see the marine campaign!
Honestly play the predator campaign too! Its a nice blend between marine and xenomorph while still feeling like a badass killing machine. Also definitely play the multiplayer with your buddies. Fun as hell!
I heard someone is making a survival base-type game where you, much like the ancient AVP Extinction, control a Xenomorph hive, and when you send out Xenomorph Drones to do things like gather hosts and such it plays in first person, but in the hive its omnipresent third person... if so, well it should be good
The xenomorph and predator parts were my favorite and the only reason I liked this game. Especially the xenomorph parts, playing as a facehugger and then a chestburster and finally growing into a xenomorph was soooo awesome, crawling on the walls and ceilings and tearing into people was so fun. We need another game that allows you to play as a Xenomorph! I played those parts several times
I remember playing this on my original fat ps3, must have played through all campaigns like 20 times, I loved the predator campaign the most tho, sparked my love for stealth
I wish this was done more. Just a genre of games where you are the predatory apex creature and you play vicariously through being this monster wrecking shit up. A few sim games let you be an animal, but that's not the same experience. I'm talking about games like Maneater, where you start as a baby shark but grow to dominate even a Leviathan with how powerful you get. That's the best. Then afterward you can chill around the world and dick with swimmers for the lols.
BTW in 1999 there was a game that allowed you to play as a xenomorph. It was absolutely wild in all the ways you described. The graphics have gotten better, but not much else has changed.
Man I still remember playing it yeaaaaaars ago, it was actually my first ever game on steam. It's jusr a shame that the multiplayer is dead as dead can be. Literally NO players, at any given time.

But damn was it fun while it lasted lol.
I just enjoyed being a horrifying dick 🤣
Yup Carrion is goated. I wish it was replayable though
@@TheBlueKio ohhh thx for correcting me
@@sharks4fun40 Yeah, what the other said, although warriers can mould into diffrent versions, and six was supoosed to be one in the last mission.
Man I dont know why everyone is coming back to this game all of a sudden, but I love it. If they redid this game today I would play it nonstop.
What is the game called
@@googleyoflolz9930 Aliens vs Predator 2010
Yeah, it’s odd but I’m all for it. It seems like this game was forgotten for a good 10 years but suddenly became an eventual cult classic.
@@googleyoflolz9930Alien vs Predator.
PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD REVIVE THIS GAME'S MULTIPLAYER
This was peak gaming as a child, I constantly played through the Xeno campaign. I played humans a single time lmao.
Ah yeah, the classic! AvP! The true Ailen/USCM/Predator experience! They don't make games like this one anymore. I wish they did...
I just wanna play as one of my favorite bioweapons. Is that so much to ask these days?
Sammme
We need more reverse horror games, something more than Carrion.
I was once part of multiple AVP clans and I miss terrifying my enemies, I never charged straight in, I would hiss, run by and do fake outs until they were firing at shadows before the others would blitz in after me causing chaos while I would pick off the runners.
This game was so badass. The stories were honestly all fun, the online games were imbalanced but an absolute blast!
CARRION has a similar feel in terms of being the monster that hunts people
1:32 Aw. Its so cute, i wanna wrap it in a blanket and give it cuddles.
Trimmings are cuter
"eff the industrialized military complex, amiright?" - Xenomorphs
I remember watching BestInSlot play this oh so many years ago. It’s great to see it again.
This is literally my Favorite Alien game. This is what got me into the franchise. I'm glad you enjoy it!
Btw, you can harvest every civilian you come across. You just have to get creative. The guy who blew himself up, try taking the lights out above then jumping down to say hi.
This game is so underrated. Serious gem of a game because playing a Xeno or a predator in a game like this is an amazing experience.
When you talk about the way you feel about the game, I think the closest would be Prototype. In both you are sort of the product of the real villain of the story and you are a super powerful entity that can be put down with enough force.
You definitely won a new subscriber for bringing back my memories about this game's campaigns. (mostly about the predator's and alien's one)
I'd say Carrion scratches the same itch as this campaign where you play as a powerful and swift abomination. You already played it a few years back.
This game really needs a remaster. Rebellion did a great job with the brutal kill animations
I'm really glad to see someone playing the og AvP game again, very well will be hopping on this again to see if the playercount spikes up at all
Its always funny to hear icy laugh like a gremlin but better when it's at igp screaming like a banshee
This is such a callback. I remember watching no commentary videos of this game episode for episode. I missed this so much.
When i was a kid i was OBSESSED with the xenomorph campaign of this game
This was one of my FAVORITE AvP games man, I bought this on steam recently just to replay it.
Man I'm so happy that to see not only one of my favorite games but also my favorite campaign played by Icy.
17:09 it takes 12-24 hours for a chestburster to come out of the host
I didn't expect a game from my childhood. I loved AVP back in the day.
I 100% agree with what you said on the gameplay. This game makes absolutely incredible job at making you feel like an actual perfect organism made for hunting, while still preserving living creatures' natural vulnerability
Wow, this brings me back to the first time I played this game four years ago. Love that you are bringing attention to this gem of a game.
You really couldn’t rush the enemy down unless you either had a significant numbers advantage, or the enemy had terrible aim.
a game where it is really fun to play as ten Alien and the Predator. Man do i miss this game from the good old PS3 and Xbox 360 Era of gaming
Playing as alien is most enjoyable thing in the whole game
This brought back sooooo many fun memories of just replaying this game over and over cause I didn’t know how to play multiplayer lol
God this was the best campaign of the three and it was so short but amazing fun throughout. I wish there was more like this!
You can Harvest the exploding guy. Just gotta be stealthy and come at him from a different angle. Took me 15 tries but I GOT HIS ASS!!!
One of my top three favorite games from when I was a kid. I still have the 360 disc! 👍
I just found you channel I love it and the video specially when you do the narrator part where you think like the xeno
I miss this game so much, I wish they made a current gen version, I used to play this a ton and did all the campaigns on the hardest difficulty and a ton of multiplayer
I adore this game and its so nice to see it up on one of my favourite youtubers!!!
This game was so much fun way back when. Thanks for bringing back memories of this game haha
This was such a fun thing to watch. Can't wait for Isolation!!
Yesssssss
I can’t believe this game didn’t get more traction tbh. An extended remake/remaster of this would be insane!
It sold well back in the day, but I guess they didn’t make a sequel due to the mixed reviews.
Glad to know I’m not the only person who loves this game and would like to see more like it
I got this game when it first came out. Honestly never played anything but the alien campaign! Loved playing as a Xeno!
The giddy and childlike glee makes me laugh so hard. I love the utter enjoyment. I'm so glad to see the game get its fair share of love.
Aliens vs Predator 2010 is such a good game!
I hope Nightdive Studios gets to remaster Aliens vs Predator 2.
By far best AvP Game and by far most Brutal between Alien & Predator Story
Edit: when new Players Experience AvP, Reactions are priceless. Specially when its the Alien Story (Most ive seen more than Predator Side)
I always play AVP2 for the art, atmosphere and a couple of other things but AVP '10 is always a good action romp. It just takes the second games Xeno movement and refines it to a amazing degree! Hope we get to see the marine campaign!
nice to see this game finally get some love
Any game where you play as a thoroughly inhuman monster or any quadrupedal animal is always one of my favorites.
Hell Yessssss!! This was one of my favourites when I was a kid! Playing as an actual marine after playing the other modes though.. A lil bit spooky
This is the first game I played on my PS3 and I loved every but of it.
I remember playing AvP2 (2001). It was a lot like this. Going to have to check this one out.
Now i want a whole game thats just this
