My smart meter its having a problem with the ciu keypad when pressed a certain number it jump to another digit so am un able to load token any idea to restart the ciu.
My meters acc starts with 144 they were installed by kplc this year, they have connection problems when loading token.They always displays 'failed' what could be the problem? kindly assist.
This is how to troubleshoot: First, make sure the MCU is ON, In the Consumer Unit all MCB circuit breakers including the Double pole isolator must be ON. The CIU batteries Must be in good condition, inside your house plug in your CIU in the power Socket outlet and Switch it ON. You can load your token without hustle or stains. Hi, it taken like three months without loading token, now i've purchased to load in but unfortunately when i fix it on the socket and key in the codes then enter it just reads 000, what could be the problem?
My meter starts with 92..... It was successfully activated and commissoined but after 1 month of working well, the power supply suddenly stopped! Inputting of tokens using the CIU is however successful. What is the problem? Richard Tonui.
Could you hire a qualified electrician to check if your meter can be switched to tamper mode? You can also share the photo of your powered CIU LCD Screen with our WhatsApp for help.
We are yet to find the shortcode for the model Smart Meter Technology 2023 to cancel the Audible Alarm. In the meantime, you can top up the credit or disconnect the CIU power cable and avoid depleting the token without knowing.

Kindly make sure that the account No you purchased the token/Credit with is correct, you must input token digits correctly, The CIU you're using to load the token Must be correctly Configured with its MCU and last the meter should be updated.
If the meter has been tampered with, you're required to visit your nearest KPLC office for a clear tamper code. Hire a qualified Electrician to assist you before inputting the code.

Yes you can use but one at a time. To pair input 1593570 plus meter No then press Okay/enter key.

If the screen on the CIU has a blinking icon like this __/ __ Try pressing 000 then enter, had the same issue today and the code sorted it out
