OODLES of NOODLES - A Banjo & Harmonica Improvisation

- Since I mostly record songs, with the emphasis on the singing and storytelling aspect, I thought maybe I ought to sit down and record a little instrumental piece - basically the kind of "meditative" noodling I tend to play when I'm playing just for myself, (when I'm not actually working on a song). So I made this up in front of the camera today (though clearly there are motifs and patterns that come from other things in here, just sort of mushed together in a stream of consciousness kind of way).
I recorded this on 17 November 2018, using a Jason Romero banjo, tuned eDADF# (when taking into account the capo position), played in D, and using a key of G Hohner Pro Harp, also played in D (I wish they still made those - they're my favourite harmonicas).
I also experimented in this video with the addition of "medium room" reverb, using one of the pre-set plug-ins in my editing software, using it at the default position of 50% (I have always, on the rare occasions that I have used it in the past, reduced that to somewhere between 15 and 20%). I kind of like it with just the instruments, but I find that it feels like too much with vocals. I might be wrong about that - I should try it again with a vocal and see if I'm warming up to it.
This music makes me want to cry with joy because it's so freaking good and performed with such passion I am in awe . . .
Thank you very much!
I have a 1916 marine band honer blue harp. 122 years old now, got it from my g-pa that served in WWI.. I play it every now and then, but you made me just break it out.. music is love, and you just brought some good memories 🍻
This is absolutely beautiful and calming. I've only started my harmonica journey and your ability to express the feelings and emotions you have through this piece is making me set my goals high! Thank you from Scotland! 🏴
