EMPTY Home is an EYESORE for the NEIGHBORHOOD so I turned it into the BEST looking lawn on the block

  • The sidewalk, curbs, and grass were SO overgrown on this property. I decided to knock on the door to see if the homeowner wanted me to fix it up for them. However, when I knocked, I noticed that the inside was completely empty. So I knocked on some of the neighbors doors and they said it has been vacant for quite some time. They also told me that they don't remember the last time it's been cut. So I completely transformed this yard for the neighborhood and turned it into one of the best looking lawns on the block.

I lived next door to two neglected lawns for 30 years. It is so frustrating. I spent hours trying to clean them up alone. A few times other neighbors helped. I am not a healthy person and several times I really overdid it in the heat. Now we live in a new neighborhood and there are no neglected lawns. I loved our old neighborhood because of the many great people and friends. It was just those two pigsties that caused me stress. So when I see you do this I can totally imagine how thrilled the neighbors are with your work.

I was thinking the same. Then again while mowing your lawn, mow their's. The back is fenced, just mow the front. Especially where the utility box is, and those two mailboxes don't belong to the homeowner. If the neighbor's are concerned about liability, at least mow the common ground and take care of the sidewalk.

My neighbors, knowing that my son had a broken wrist and I was in an ankle boot due to having a chunk of bone lodged in my Achilles tendon, called the city instead of asking if we needed help. Our lawn didn’t get anywhere close to being as bad as this one. Of course, the same neighbor would come in our yard to turn his lawnmower around right after my son had finished our yard-the neighbor had his blade down to the ground. Spencer, you have a kind heart and do outstanding work to help improve neighborhoods. People in your community are fortunate to have your services, because there are plenty of landscapers who would never do what you do. A neglected house and yard can easily become an eyesore and distraction for everyone, so stepping up to edge, mow and trim make a world of difference. It certainly helps to have the right equipment. I have done similar work with just a push mower, and it is hard work. We hope this video inspires more people-not just landscapers-to give a little to help others. All the best.

I am a housekeeper and I wish I could do this for people for free. It is my goal to one day. Seeing the whole transformation of someone as I deep clean and declutter their home room by room, especially if they have a hoarding disorder, is absolutely life affirming. Seeing them start to bathe more, dress more thoughtfully, have a smile for the first time, seeing the relief in their soul and seeing them experience hope for the first time in a very very long time.... there are no words that can quite describe it!❤ I have seen it be the start, the catalyst needed, to affect many other changes long due and it is a privilege to be a small part of that.

Whilst I highly commend the work you do it would be so much nicer and more professional if you collected the clippings especially as there was so much of it. If you can't then maybe leave it? It doesn't do the lawn any good when there is so much and what was looking like a brilliant transformation was let down by a scruffy finish. Sorry SB. 😔

I wondered why with the trash cans up by the garage you didn’t gather up as much of that dirt or grass and put it in the trash cans and just leave it in the trash cans or others to blow it all over the yard and just leave it? Thank you for what you do!

Someone pointed out in another video that putting the soil back in the grass helps with preventing top soil erosion. Mulching the grass is also really good for the lawn too. 🙂
I wondered the same thing until I saw that.

as a property owner I don't understand how the property owners NEXT to this abandoned place would not at bare minimum keep the front mowed so it doesn't affect the aesthetics of the neighborhood and invite unwanted activity in an unoccupied house....

I am not a lawn care professional, but I have worked in the emergency room before. I realize that 99 percent of the time you can clean out a tool without turning it off and without gloves and be just fine. But all it takes is one situation where a bird lands on the trigger or it falls just the wrong way and your entire career is gone.
