Well for my schools pit the four mallet players have good marching instruments, one plays tenor, one plays bass, and me and another kid play snare, the other four play cymbals
This brings me back….oh boy. We paraded Kirby like he was our god. Kirby went with everyone. If I remember correctly, his name was Skittles. We LOVED him.
And...some of them are marching in sport-slide sandals!!! First of all, I would have never even attempted that for safety reasons, but, I am impressed that they can do it (and obviously do it well) without any issues! LOL
This was just great. And I don't know why it bothered me so much but I hated how the cheerleaders danced to the drumline playing. The drumline should have gotten more attention than the cheerleaders. If this was a planned thing and they were supposed to dance then ok but I still don't like it. And if they just decided to start dancing and it wasn't planned then I be fuming cause it's not like they need the attention their already really popular so... sorry for that rant. Cheerleaders and band don't really mix with me especially when the school gives the cheerleaders a coach bus, that the school board pays for or something, to go to a 3hour away football game and the band has to pay for its own stuff like buses and has to take school buses Gosh honestly my band gets like no respect at my school

More recently our band found out that we aren't holding a home indoor drumline/guard competition anymore because the district is treating the band like we are an outside source like not apart of the school/district source and making us pay a crap ton of money that we can't afford just to host it and it's one of the bigger fundraiser things that help do what we do I think we got maybe $10,000 recently from it one of my friends who is going to be a junior next year and a student leader wrote a whole letter stating her/the band's frustrations and she's going to the board about it very brace person. Honestly the board/district doesn't give us any money we pay for most things on our own. I could honestly go on and on about this all day it's so frustrating.
