    great work, congo...
    but two things
    1. these led's need a heat sink to run constant for hours, or else this will burn.
    2.you attached the led's to thermocol, this led's produce a considerable heat at 3.7 volts coz these are 3 volt led, and at that heat the thermocol will collapse.
    but the process is all very good keep on with your experiments, best of luck.

    Love the video. I think if you use Mylar instead of Aluminum foil it would be better. All you got to do is buy one of those happy birthday balloons and cut it open to expose the shiny inside. You can glue this to the bottle and work out all the wrinkles and air bubbles. Love the video thanks for sharing. You can get the balloons from the dollarTree stores cheep one dollar each

    Tengo una pregunta.. estube averiguando.. y los led de 1 watt trabajan con un voltaje aproximado de 3,6 v a 350mah.. los conectaste en paralelo.. probaste enchufarlos a un powerbank?? no se quemaron?

    this is nice but they will burn out if you use a usb port that gives more than standard 500mah current.(1-3A usb charger for example) white 1w leds need 3-4.2V and max ~200-300mah each. you need a resistor if you give them higher voltage. putting 2 of them in parallel like this would divide 500mah so they would work fine on 500mah port, until either one fails. if one fails, the other will burn out too. but if you put a resistor it would be safer.
    If you dont want to use resistors and also don't want to risk your leds, RED LEDs can work without resistor on usb if you connect 2 them in series. they need 2-3V each so 4.5-5.2 usb is perfect without resisitor. you can't make this with white leds since they would need 6-8.4V in series. but you can put 4 white leds in series on car battery. the work fine between 12-16.8V.

      I did this but add a switch and used 5mm 3 volt LEDs and I use a wall adapter that connects to the usb end and I can plug it into the wall. I also used 220 ohm Resistor because that was all I had at the time and it works well. It’s still really bright and doesn’t over heat. I use it to read in my reading nook that is in a small closet that we put my books in and left enough room for me to sit in and read but there was no light so I looked up DIY LEDs lamps usb cable and this came up and it looked easy so I did it and it works wonderfully.

    can we devide the current of the usb into two paths and make both usb fan and light using one usb? someone please answer

    • @baileebradford6018
      @baileebradford6018 4 роки тому

      I don’t believe so because you need the negative and positive wires for the LEDs and I don’t know how the usb fan would have to be wired up to work and I don’t think it would allow the current to run properly to the LEDs or fan but idk I might be wrong I’m still fairly new to electronic/wiring.

    • @songbirdglitch5859
      @songbirdglitch5859 7 років тому

      Stinky Cheese that's not what I mean, does the USB cable is compatible for making a regular lightbulb light up?

    • @stinkycheese804
      @stinkycheese804 7 років тому

      Brian Hernandez Of course, but since USB is only supposed to be capable of 500mA, that's 0.5A x 5V = 2.5W. You should choose a light bulb rated for 5V, and no more than 2.5W.
      The question is why would you want to? Incandescent light bulbs are far far more inefficient in those small sizes. You could barely see anything from a 2.5W incandescent light bulb.

    • @baileebradford6018
      @baileebradford6018 4 роки тому

      It’s what you add to electronic/LEDs/ wiring if the voltage is to high for what your wanting to use like the LEDs ( this is just an example) say there 3 volts and the usb cable provides 5 volts( or something like that) then you would add a resistor to the positive leg of the LED and the positive wire so that way it won’t over heat or accidentally burn your LED up because of it having to much voltage and then it won’t light up and you just wasted a led and you would have to replace the LED ( also 5 ohms resister is what he is talking about, the “n” symbol means ohms) also there are various amounts of resistors like there are 150 ohms, 220 ohms, even 1000 ohms ( there are also lower ohms resistors than 150 I just can’t remember them off the top of my head) and 150 and 220 ohms is what I work with the most on my electronic/ wiring DIYS because mine don’t usually need very much resistance and when they do I use the least amount I can but still not have to worry about the led burning up or overheating. I hope my comment helped even though I know this is 4 years late but still I hope you read it and it helps you understand. Have a nice day and always keep learning about things that interest you! I know I do and I’m very happy!
