@@shkinahunt8630 sent it off to be repaired by Samsung. Was going to be like $80 or so as it was out of warranty but ended up being covered as I think it was covered by that update that apparently bricked a bunch of watches.

I got the lightning bolt - no green circle or % charged. Then continued to cycle between the black screen and Samsung word every minute or so.
I just got mine in the mail. Haven't even started it yet. I put it right on the charger first. Good thing I did. It was completely dead. It is charging so thats a good sign. I have liked your video just in case I have any issues. Thanks

What a POS watch. Left my galaxy 4 off the charger while i went snowboarding for a week. Just came back and i knew it would be dead after a week. But i didnt want to just leave it charging the entire time. Tossed it on the charger when i got back.. Didnt realize it wasnt charging. Now its dead dead. Wont charge at all. After seeing so many similar problems in these comments and reddit. How is there not a class action lawsuit for this crap? Or is there.
my watch doesnt charge cz i left it without batter for long time how do i fix it?
Must have a built in timer so that it completely shuts down the day after the warranty runs out.

Mine is doing this too got the reboot once but then nothing after that. Ugh
@@alishahill7090 You should still be under warrenty. Samsung fixed mine for free. I can only assume it is a known issue.
My galaxy watch was working fine. And then all of a sudden wouldn't charge and now the battery is completely dead to the point where even holding down the two buttons won't work. It still won't charge with a new charger and living it "charging" for hours...is this just horrible Samsung hardware?

I'm having same issue, I can feel mine vibrate randomly tried both methods several times and still no luck. I'm dieing over here without my watch. Was stuck on rebooting screen for abit (started having problem when in shower) now it won't turn on but feel random vibration....PLS PLS HELP SOMEONE!
Same issues with mine, it hasn't had any water contact or damage. None of the steps work. I've even tried remote factory resetting through galaxy wearable app to no avail

This is what worked for me: I turned on wireless powershare on my galaxy phone, took my case off, and put the watch on my phone (which vibrates when it detects something is charging) and eventually it showed the charger indicator on the watch. I waited a bit longer and then it started up fine. I then used the charger it came with and everything is fine

Didnt help me. So sad. Mine went completely dead in the middle of the night. Put it on the charger this morning and after 45 minutes it was still dead.... no lightning bolt. Tried three different chargers, all of which work on my boyfriends watch, no good for me. So sad. =(
I just had a screen freeze issue on mine while trying to turn it off and just held down both buttons and it rebooted the watch and is back to normal now. Thanks for the help! Great video

Mine is not showing Samsung logo when I press the 2 buttons but when I charge it, it charges. So I guess my screen is not damaged but it is not turning on. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to turn my watch on.
I put my galaxy watch on the charger a couple nights ago and when I next went to put it on it was completely dead. I have tried holding both buttons, nothing will work, its just dead. I have also tried a different watch on my charger and it works fine.
Really disappointed as my watch is only 6 months old.

Thank you. Had my new watch connected for about a week but then wouldn't connect again. I have an iPhone. Also the watch was charged 100%, but turned black when off the charger. Finally saw this video and reset the watch which worked instantly
I tried but I cannot get mine to turn on. No Samsung logo when I hold down both buttons, nothing but black screen. It worked fine yesterday, put it on the charger when I went to bed. it was a green light on the charger when I woke up. took it off the charger and left for work,. tried checking the time when I got to work and all I had was a black screen.

Worked for me... I was devastated as it was a gift from from my wife, it just suddenly stopped working for no apparent reason, I knew it was fully charged & I had tried the reboot procedure, but this failed to work, each time going to the black screen again, it was just an off chance that I came across your video, which worked great, so far it is working as normal. Why does this happen? I think my Watch Active 2 is better than the 5 I bought. Also, it won't charge on the 3rd party charging devices that my active 2 works on. I am so frustrated. Oh! and it doesn't charge on the back of my galaxy either.

Mine wasn't working when it was brand new out of the box. I tried both buttons and got no response. What DID work was when I swapped out my generic charger for a Samsung one. Within 10 seconds on the charger it lit up. Hope this can help someone!
Oh man... Just got it fresh out of the box, tried to "load" it with an Ikea charger, the charger did blink, but the Watch did nothing. Then I tried it on my Samsung S10 (with a case on) via Wireless Power-Sharing, and again, the S10 said its loading, but the Watch did nothing. Reading your comment, I tried it one more time, but without the case on the S10 - and voila! It worked and the Watch showed me the lightning icon. After 5m it also showed the Temperature-Icon, so I guess I need an Original Charger. Thanks :)

I tried this fix, and it might work... the only problem is, the battery is completely flat... is there a solution for that scenario...
My friend connected a Quick Charger (5V 9V 12V) to it. What part can be burned out? Last time we just took everything apart, put it back together and display worked. But now, battery volage is 3.9V (charged) and SM-R500 watches don't work. Display is black. There is only a short vibration everytime when I put watches on the wireless charger.
Mines keeps dying even after being 100% can this aldo fix it?

The samgsung logo NEVER appears at all. my bf leaves his watch on the charger for sometimes weeks at a time, despite me telling ihm NOT to, and now it wont turn on, doesnt charge, no sign of life. holding the buttons does nothing no matter how long i hold the buttons.

This watch has sooo many faults it is a rip off for the price you pay. No way is this thing waterproof to any depth. Even with the water lock on it is useless. Again yesterday I got in the pool and forgot the watch. I took it off straight away but too late. It crashed! The screen totally pixilated so it was intelligible. It would not charge or anything just a blank screen no matter how long you press and hold the buttons. Overnight it came back to life again. A watch is to be used and not to have to be left overnight to restore itself.

My watch shows the lightning bolt and charge % only when its on the charger. When i remove it, screens is all black. I cant get the Samsung logo to appear no matter how long i hold 2 buttons, both on and off the charger. Anyone else experience this?

I held mine for 369 seconds. I got nothing but two sore fingers 🤌. I'm afraid my charging dock may be the issue.

I just got my Samsung A4 watch about a week ago. I left it on the charger all day yesterday and when I checked it, it was fully charged but when I tried to retrieve it late fast night, it was completely dead. Would keeping it on the charger drain the battery? I also put a mesh rose gold strap on it that is magnetic and I'm thinking maybe the magnet has an issue with the battery.
I tried both of your techniques and I still can't get the watch to load. It's still within the 30-day window so I guess I'll have to return it.

The last step works says samsung then goes black again
After you hold both buttons down and the Samsung logo pops up and start tapping the top button for the key screen to show up. I click continue and hold the top button but the Samsung logo doesn't pop up for me

Mine was working, but white screen, watch could connect to phone. I powered it off, now can't power it back on. Since I can't see the display being all white, I can't read the errors or messages to power up.

I have the original Galaxy Watch. It struggles to start charging. And when it starts, it only goes up to 3% and shows that the watch is to hot to charge. This started a few months back after using it for a year and a half.
