I LOVE that you are open about your path to find a better way. There are no doubt some cowboy methods that work, some that are best for some horses but definitely not all and certainly not that (wire over nose). Horsemanship is a fluid process and we are coming a long way as a profession.
Gosh, Another win!!!! Incredible! So happy for y'all ❤🐎❤ Run babes Run!!👏👏👏👏👏 I just need to say that I'm very impressed with your choices and your techniques in training! Especially look forward to this Summer when you can take Sioux(Love her name) to the creek!😊
FYI, I'm writing a song which involves a horse, inspired by one of these videos. The lyrics are just about done (finished editing.) It's what I do. Thanks for giving me a second and third verse. ;)
Dear sir, I appreciate your kindness and desire to support positive reinforcement in your training methods; but I would like to encourage you that instead of teaching your horse to go into an undercarriage and avoid the bit, you could easily work with the horse’s body - by allowing it to move forward and teaching your horse to come unto the bit through training her to carry herself and you by bringing herself up through her hindquarters - she’ll naturally drop her head and carry you and have a light comfortable contact with you through the reins…. Take in some utube lessons with some good dressage trainers; looking into contact; you’ll never be sorry.
This whole video made me wince. Show quality for what type of showing?? Wire on the nose?? You should learn about natural horsemanship and pressure and release with positive reinforcement. We don’t do things like the “old timers” anymore for a reason- it’s cruel and ineffective.
Please stop teaching her this way, it’s old school and extremely uncomfortable for her. You can see the tension in her, she’s looking for a way to relieve the tension on the reins. You are not asking her to lower het head, you are demanding her to do it. Develop a connection by riding and relax her body that way, relaxed reins. Do groundwork. From there, she will relax her neck and whole body and work with you. It’s baffling that so many people here still think that the way you are teaching her is the humane and right way to go.
It's heartwarming to see you exercise your Dominion over your horse, while knowing that it is a partner, and not a subject. Training through trust, not fear of pain. ❤ Truly, your Faith guides you in all things. It shines from you in your every action. Thank you for posting this.
JR, I’m so happy you are working with a more horse friendly way to train your horses. You’re doing a wonderful job and to be honest with you. I can’t imagine seeing you working in a confined office space environment. I pray 🙏 your dreams come true and you can work full time on your farm with your animals. Where you belong. We all need a vision and make a plan of action on how to make our dreams a reality. If you don’t try, you’ll not die wondering 🤔🍀🐨🐨🦘

The wire method made me whince in pain when you described Jerry, Jr. I'm so glad you found a better way to teach your horse to lower her head. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I love all the kindness you show the horses you train. ❤

Agree 💯 great advice!!
I don't like the wire method if it causes excessive pain to the creature, IMO.
Exactly 👍
Seems cruel.
@@jerritanner275 it is!
Pleasure and release, positive reinforcement is a more holistic approach 😊
A horse knows how to carry their head if people would just get out of the horse's way.
I don't care for that method...

I don't think you finished the video

Have you ever trained a gaited horse have you ever won a MFTBHA world championship?
