Brilliant video. What an absolutely stunning car. I totally love it especially the colour combo and body styling and of course the rear wing. Great to see the craic that Stef and you are having.
Reminds me of when I drove an Audi A1. Not huge amounts of power, but lots of smiles and very Chuck-able. The spoiler on the back really sets it off. Looks like a fun trip 👍
I have a big itch for one of these 595’s/695’s as I think they are really cool and look great and fun to drive. Great video. I’m not sure of the two tone paint scheme on this ‘hero’ car, but more I look at it the more I like it.
I think that Abarth could easily give more power without rising the emissions, as there are a lot of tuning companies offering remaps of the ECU stage 1 with an extra 25 HP and 75 of NM (which I got on my comp) without a rise in consumption. The main issue is that you have to stick to the higher quality petrol (at least 98 RON), which allows a faster ignition. As there are a lot of countries where this type of petrol is scarse or even not available, Abarth doesn't want to take the risk, because on the long run you could end up with engine damage.
Love Abarths, especially this 695, but the reliability of these things have always frightened me - I know a few people who have had either Fiat 500s or Abarth 500/595 etc. that have had serious electrical issues within a few years of ownership. Great video as always Pete!

OK, genuinely valid question. I've got two young kids and enjoy a practical car. I've been pining for a Golf R for ages. But I've recently bought a Grand Scenic (shed) to ferry the kids about and dump runs; something to run until I start a new lease. I never considered a two car scenario. HOWEVER, I'm now thinking I keep the shed AND get an Abarth. Specs-wise, got nothing on the Golf R.... But.... This car looks oodles of fun and is essentially half the price of the Golf R. What the hell do I do!!???

Over 10 years since the first 500 abarth now. I think Fiat could make more new money if they cashed in on the heritage of Abarth but with something fresh. The driving position needs to be relaxed and the steering needs full adjustment plus the exterior needs more aggression and less baby fiat. Also hard to hear Abarth mispronounced.
