  • After Emmerson Mnangagwa ousted Robert Mugabe from power, Robert Smart and his family returned to the lands they had been forced from last year. The news came too late to plant maize or tobacco, but another crop thrived.

    They kicked the farmers out. Then later realized they still need to eat. Then again immediately realized that they had kicked out everyone who actually knew how to farm.

      Whats the point of generating wealth if you cannot hand it down to your children because eventually when he is dead the same cycle will happen again and the wealth he built up for his children will be stolen by the state and his children will be violently removed if not murdered.

    • @Yamanhitle
      @Yamanhitle 6 років тому +12

      Jason Creamer That won't necessarily happen. And if it does then it means that he becomes the same as the standard 9 to 5 employee who works to put money in tye bank and can't pass on his job to his kids (this is situation that most people in the world are in)
      Besides with the kind of money he's making he ought to diversify his income streams instead of just relying on farming.
      Anyway that's just my 2 cents

    • @jasoncreamer5747
      @jasoncreamer5747 6 років тому +69

      Haha and this is why so many African nations fail. Who do those nine to five employees work for? They work for people who work hard to create generational wealth and maintain a productive economy. You cant have 9 to 5 employees without the people who create those jobs and you cant have people who create those jobs if the state kicks them out and steals their wealth every couple of generations. Most intelligent Africans do diversify their income streams and they do that by investing outside of Africa which is a problem for Africa.
      Anyways, a few african countries are showing promise, especially Ghana, lets hope they break free of the socialist cycle of theft and create a new standard in Africa.

    • @Yamanhitle
      @Yamanhitle 6 років тому +8

    • @wolfpack4128
      @wolfpack4128 6 років тому +34

      It's not the villagers but that is the point. In Africa it's all about who has power. The government is allowing the villagers to have their power back...for now. As soon as they are successful again who is to say the government doesn't roll back in and take everything including their lives. If the villagers were not willing to fight for their community then they won't be this time either. In all the history I've read the Zulu seem to be the only Africans that fought tooth and nail to keep what they saw as theirs. The rest roll over to whomever looks the strongest at the moment.

      Don't make the mistake of thinking Mugabe's policies reflect the views of all black people in Zimbabwe. One of the signature moves of that type of leader is they appoint themselves representatives of an entire "oppressed" group and claim they speak for all of them, when in reality they don't even speak for a majority of that group.

    Honestly guys some of us Zimbabweans went to farm schools and we had both black and white farms back in the 90s. We just want farmers back regardless of race. There were a few bad white farmers but their cruelty influenced an action which was taken againsts the good ones as well. Also amongst blacks we had our rotten greedy ones who wanted to loot so it played both ways. What we are proposing is lets fix the problems on both ends and reconcile to work together again and rebuild the bread basket that once was back to its original state. Believe me if those guys who looted before try it again people are not gonna allow it as we are not tolerating yet another downfall we faced before.

    Mr Smart is a true example of a man who was good to the community and bad people penetrated his operation yet the comminity considered him as a part of the community. He did not give up on his home because he knew it was not his community tgat worked against him but rather outside forces which posed as part of the community to influence an opportunity to loot. Now together as one believe me these forces will not prevail if they attempt to infiltrate this comminity again as the hardships only made the union of this community even stronger than before. This will happen all across Zimbabwe for thos white farmers who really had the love of their communities for what they did for their communities providing jobs and livelihood treating their fellow african community members as human beings rather than slaves.

      James Charbonneau every country has its peaceful places, but even they will experience some craziness. However, I will ask if your schools have airport style security? The reason I ask is that there is an average of 1 school shooting per week in the US. That alone is a terrible thing.

    • @LordDirus007
      @LordDirus007 6 років тому +71

      cplcabs Try not to buy into the sensationalism perpetrated by the media. Is there school shootings in the US, yes. However I can only speak of my quiet city of Lincoln Nebraska. They have Active shooter drills and will lock a school district down if their is a single report of someone dangerous in the area. Unfortunately the US wasn't always that way. I believe culture has a lot to do with it. However I have not heard of any school shootings in my State. I do remember Columbine in the next state over.
      If you come and visit Nebraska you will find some of the most kind hearted people.
      The truth of the matter is that crime in the US is at an all time low and keeps lowering by the year. Advancements in DNA profiling has made crime a lot harder to get away with.
      I should also mention I was stationed in Fort Wainwright Alaska (Fairbanks). Where everyone carries a gun and shooting deaths are among the lowest in the nation. I try not to judge a nation unless I have truly seen it.
      Iraq
      Kuwait
      Afghanistan
      Are the only countries I have experienced.

    The intelligent blacks know they can't do it, they need the whites. Without whites you get, well, Zimbabwe. South-Africa is next. All of Africa is a shining example what happens if blacks do it their way. I don't have a problem with the way blacks live in Uganda or CAR. I just don't wanna live there myself, and I don't think any other sane person does either. And judging by the events in Zimbabwe currently, neither do blacks. So whites come and rescue them, and make life more pleasant, comfortable and civilized for them.

    What this has proved is we cannot prosper anywhere in this world if we do not co-exist and work together respecting each other as human beings. Envy and greed played a big part and we cant allow the order of the day to be ruled by such people. Based on what a person nrings to the table lets respect those who build these operations and kknow our place wether you are an employer or employee be it a farm manager to the people working the fields. Better your life by improving your skills rather than hooliganism and exploitation driven by envy which at the end you destroy that which was built by other skilled hardworking people.

    They lease the land for 99 years. Their offspring will have to deal with losing their land again.
    My suggestion for them is to move to a country where they can create a family business like this.
    Go to a country which accepts you own land and provide a well ran the business.
    We don't hate white or black farmers here. People aren't complaining about racism towards successful business here. "How horrible this white/black person has a good business providing food".
    Africa has never had their priorities straight. In 100 years they won't have that either.
