- savory.global | See how Allan Savory, and his wife Jody, live in Zimbabwe, in traditional thatch-roofed mud huts, entirely off-grid with solar cells, LED lanterns, and solar hot water heater. He also goes everywhere barefoot. He was born and raised in Zimbabwe and currently lives approximately half of the year at his traditional home at the Africa Centre for Holistic Management.

About Savory Institute:
Loss of grasslands leads to climate change, floods, droughts, famine, and worldwide poverty. It’s our mission to promote large-scale restoration of the world’s grasslands through Holistic Management.
Holistic Management is a process of decision-making and planning that gives people the insights and management tools needed to understand nature: resulting in better, more informed decisions that balance key social, environmental, and financial considerations.
It's a pimped version of any village in Zim with a few comforts. It shows humility and appreciation of local culture. Alan is a true son of the soil.
I guess Im randomly asking but does anyone know a tool to get back into an instagram account..?
I somehow lost the account password. I would appreciate any tricks you can offer me
@Achilles Gabriel instablaster =)
I am very impressed by yourlifestyle. I am a zimbabwean who enjoys living in the bundu. I follow you.
these are truly humble African. i love it, i love it and i love it. As i was listening to Mr, he just need to be equal with other community members (Zimbabweans) #love this family

no one is equal everyone is different
@@flowrepins6663 Everyone is equal in the eyes of God
This is how Zimbabwe should be ,people living the way they like ,black ,white

@EMAN67 (Movies, politics, commentary) Yes but Savory has an agreement with the elders and gave all the land back. Look into it before you blindly judge. Not all people are bad.
@EMAN67 (Movies, politics, commentary) You can't, there just aren't any to tell. No land in Zimbabwe (unlike South Africa) was taken away from any black person. Are you aware of how the 'Tribal Trust Areas' were established ? When the whites came to Zimbabwe they found an extremely underpopulated land and the BSA Company (yes, the guy you love to hate - Rhodes) sat with all the Chiefs and Elders and gave them first choice of ALL the land in Zim and they chose the TTL's as it was easy to till with the implements that they had at the time. The whites took the land that needed deeper tilling and made a success of it. Before you say that the whites were 'invaders' or such like name may I remind you that both the Shona and the Matabele were the same coming in from the North East and South respectively. Please take the tree truck off your shoulder !
@@dudeman5234 Really ?????? What a statement.
@@jimspillings9724 who the fuck was he to sit with all the elders and give them a choice. That's bullshit. A visitor can not give choice to owner. You lack wisdom. Open land does not mean its not owned. Land was reserved for grazing and future generations. It all belonged to them. Just because there is no building on your lawn does not mean you don't own it. Let's start there.
We need people like this not Julius Malema or Robert Mugabe.
Only love and peace will ultimately prevail. Hatred and revenge is a true recipe for failure. Aka Julius Malema and Robert Mugabe. Julius is sick he needs to stay at home and rest.
But wasn’t alan a mugabe & malema supporter?
We need more Malemas
We need more Mugabes
Thank you Allan and Jody for allowing us into the privacy of your remarkable and beautiful home. It radiates peace and holistic forgiveness, to my senses. ;-) Blessings upon you and all you do.
Just loved it. The best sleep I ever had was when I slept in a house like this in a village in Ghana somewhere in the Afram Plains. She was not exaggerating when she said the inside gets cool. Nice.
Beautiful, am actually reading one of his books, Holistic Resource Management. am impressed
Allan is such an amazing human. Love from Botswana ❤️🇧🇼
Hey ! This Couple need an award ! Cancer free home ! I grew up in one ! Let's give you a Royal Family Name ..." Mr & Mrs Ndlovu " .
Allan Savory is a good and great Zimbabwean. I have known him a long time. Good luck. Allan.
Nigga have you lost your damn mind white people should not be in Africa at all
Let me correct you, sir! Allan is not Zimbabwean, rather he is 'white Europe Zimbabwean'. Never forget to mention his roots. That is what they do in Europe to none white people. Africans! Wake up!
@@greencagar1355 100% correct, example is "AfricanAmericans" even after 400 years in America ...
@@pimpchi774 Should black people be in Europe and America? Or not?
@@patrikturek2646 I don't believe they should be in Europe because Europe is a wasteland Europe Imports all of their foods and all of their plants from other countries the soil there is very bad

Simply living in the rural areas of Africans.
Teach the others how to live simply and give GOD thanks for His divine supernatural interventions in our lives.
humble souls.wont mind visiting coz I know I'll feel at home.
We appreciate your work with wildlife in Zim Alan. You are a fine citizen and I hope your work continues through others. God bless
Makes me miss Rhodesia. It's been 40 years since I've been there, we lived in a chalet and I don't think we had running water. Lucky you. Where are you? We weren't out in the bush like you, so not much wildlife around...maybe a few monkeys. The oranges and peaches were so huge. I think we had peaches and cream every day for dessert.
Allan, on hearing your voice takes me back to Umtali where I knew Mike Palmgren. My brother is at your centre at Vic Falls. Loved your house.
U are stunning humble Godbless u gd zimz
This is just like my grandmother's house in the village.

What a wonderful story about remarkable people. I feel so envious! Thank you for sharing your story.
Humble murungu ve Zimbabwe praise god fr.people like him
@@estherbuepfepfe2117 I have lived this type of life and I enjoyed it . Termites are not a problem, before you use the cow dung you should compact the soil . There after you should frequently use cow dung on the floor.
That is fantastic I emulate your life soon I will be joining you thus your home Zim enjoy it
Thats amazing thankyou for sharing and inviting us into your home. I pray you stay blessed. I love the infusion of technology and local environment. I recently installed solar at our farm its amazing the how much energy you can generate from the african sun.
Simple but complicated Wow this guy is one of a kind
This is amazing true and totally African style of life God bless this couple wonderful people to be around them
She's gorgeous.
They seem like pleasant and nice people
These people are so wonderful
This is amazing. I don't think I would build the traditional huts though due to the demanding upkeep. I never new you could get internet by satellite without wiring.
very expensive, rather slow and the upload speeds are awful.
Nice home Allan and Jodie.
Like the open concept and the down to earth homestyle. Thanks for sharing.
It reminds me of my grandma rural place we use to love it miss home 😰
This is so beautiful. I would love to have a home like that. Absolutely love it.
If only Tony Blair had not said No to the Lancaster House agreement on land issue, this is the life Zimbabweans ( black and white) could be enjoying.
He actually didn't agree to pay for the land they had promised to pay. Your statement is miss informed. Check the facts please
@GR A CORRECTION! 😏 The Lancaster House Agreement was with Maggy Thatcher's Tory government. The initial talks were between (obsessed)Harold Wilson (Labour Party) & not Tony Blair.
Wow amazing. I love this. Thank you so much. Wonderful people you are
God Bless Alan & Jody Savory Abundantly Amen Blessed Couple
BEAUTIFUL PLACE, BEAUTIFUL LOVELY COUPLE!!!
This is really nice! We need to have whites and blacks working together to govern a better Zimbabwe.
But blacks need too be in charge and just jeep an eye on the white man because whites have proven that they can't be trusted ............
dude man We need a few of each in charge. Because that way no one will betray anyone.
dude man I'm also for more Native Americans being represented in modern day US society.
You are right both white and blacks working equally together in the government
wow i can't stop watching thi video it takes me back home i love my ZImbabwe
But then go and live there
Wow beautiful and secluded i love this.....typical village setup and the air is not polluted.
Allan and Jodie great to hear your voices. Good teachers both of you on land restoration through holistic management. The training our team of world vision staff got was inspiring.

Very nice set up I like it simple , I think its quite savory lol. More power to you ,take care. Bobby from Q.City Philippines.
it is good you appreciate africas ancient knowledge.
Thank you for your highly inspirational holistic land use philosophy. I have grown up in pristine areas of Zululand ( my father was Natal Parks Board Warden of several stations including largely, the St. Lucia Estuary complex comprising of Maphelane, St. Lucia Estuary, St. Lucia Game Reseve, Eastern Shores, Cape Vidal and the SADFrocket range south of Sodwana National Park.) Dad was the first opponent of dune mining in the complex in1975.
I hope you have a wonderfull time , be blessed.
Lovely ! I love your sanctuary 🙏

That's a marvellous way of living.
I grew up in Umvuma, miss the simple way of life
You are inspiring!
nice one. i like the design. hay. nothing beats nature. simply awesome.
Thanks for sharing ,i have learnt too many things from Great Allans....Allan savory and Allan rabinovitz, both are Gurus.
This is magnificent. Very nice indeed.
I remember him as a moderate voice in the old Rhodesia. He opposed Ian Smith and his cut-throat white supremacists who stuffed up the country. Brave man and he did some good.Good also to see that he settled well. I was in the White River area where many of the defeated Smith fascists bought small farms grew tobacco and spent much time at Tich Peter's complaining at the " Glue Pot". They hated Savory . G'day from Australia. Cheers:).
Beautiful home I love this video

That's such a lovely, efficient and relaxing home. I really like the fact that you co-habit with the weather (rains, heat and thunderstorms) and the local wildlife!
Just curious - where does the water come from? Do you have a well? A rain-water tank?
I trained here in Holistic management ndimba ngombe nice couple.
