I invented grunge n' roll in the year 1834 while smoking weed in my backyard aboveground swimming pool. I played an alternate version of freebird on my 3rd bridge electric koto. Suddenly, out of thin air, Steve Albini appeared and offered me a recording contract on sony/BMG. That very afternoon I recorded Ten, Nevermind, and Superunknown. All the arguing about grunge can stop now.
This was around 1994 so not new millenium?!? And as I recall the crowd were going fucking nuts for the entire gig. I was on the front barrier and the crush was tight but worth it to see this gig!
BabyWetsAllNight comment was positive on the crowd. He didn't meant on this crowd in the video. So, cool down. I'm happy to say I'll watch Dinosaurs live in Belgrade, Serbia on 5th september. One of my favorite bands for almost 15 years...
Heh, well in interviews, J did say that p90's are his favorite kind of pick ups... though, live in the middle east, J plays a stratocaster on Mountain Man...
I agree bro,100%, this song brings back so many memories but i dont remember this band, could you tell me another good song that they had out in the 90s, i just cant remember the band, i had my tv on xm the other day and this song came on, i whent to see who, and it said feel the pain by smashing pumpkins, well i new that was a miss print so i found it on utube and i love the song but cant place the band, HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!lol.
Who ever is saying that Nirvana has been mainly influenced by Dinosaur Jr is wrong. Their biggest influences were Black Flag, The Knack, The Beatles, Pixies and The Melvins. I have read 3 Nirvana/Kurt biographies.
as nietz writes, j mascis' guitarsolo at the end and thru the entire song btw. is freakin awesome. you've got a nerve to say something as arrogant as not bad, nap.
What the fuck is this-I did a search on Dinosaur jr and it brought up a link to the Feel the pain video which I thought would have the music video to it! But no, I canna find it! Good one though!
@Thevideopyramidhead1 If Green Day decided to make an album that sounds more like some of their 90's stuff 95% of their current fans would stop listening to them and their record label would drop them. They'll be milking this eyeliner thing until their 50 years old, or until fans pick up another sad/emo-looking fad. But apart from that, damn, Dino Jr. fuckin' rocked that song
George and J are buds and have been together in other projects despite that he only appears on an album on 1 Dinosaur Jr song Can't We Move This Along? All of the drumming on Without A Sound and the rest of the drumming on Hand it over were done by J
@AlvacadoNlemons bullshit, nirvana became nirvana because kurt cobains a fucking genius. and by the way it was the pixies who nirvana emulated for Nevermind. get yo facts straight boy. Dinosaur Jr. is awesome though, as I am listening to them as i write this

Interesting stuff Luke
i was just shocked...because i saw them one year later as red hot chili peppers' support and at that point of time his hair was completely grey...
This tune just reminds me of skating at Rotation Station in Rockford. Always on the PA when I would ride the bowl on Saturdays. Good stuff!
Ahhh men to that brother.
I was at this gig and remember it fondly, the album with alone on it had just come out and Mascis was amazing
I was in that crowd

long live the 90s
the lineup is J, Mike and George. Murph was playing in the lemonheads in 97.

It´s sad that the quality of this video isn´t the best, but it´s better than nothing.
I was hoping that there would be this songs music video
hey man dino jr rocks...hard
i've loved this song forever
@Thevideopyramidhead1 No it wasn't. That was Reading '92, with Mudhoney, L7, The Melvins & Nirvana etc. Dinosaur never played that year.
dude this is epic... rock on junior..
@AlvacadoNlemons Apparently during that show Kurt Cobain asked J if he could be the lead guitarist for Nirvana. J laughed and declined.
Heh, well in interviews, J did say that p90's are his favorite kind of pick ups... though, live in the middle east, J plays a stratocaster on Mountain Man...

Whaaaa!?!? Beyond is one of their best without a doubt!
in the ninetees... The Wagon, Out There, Start Choppin', Get Me, I Don't Think So..those are pretty much the ones that got radio play
as nietz writes, j mascis' guitarsolo at the end and thru the entire song btw. is freakin awesome. you've got a nerve to say something as arrogant as not bad, nap.
J. fuckin shredded that solo at the end. he's so friggin metal, no mega-distortion needed
excellent
I so wish they would tour on those middle 3 albums
God, my volume needs to be LOUDER!!!!!! :D
What the fuck is this-I did a search on Dinosaur jr and it brought up a link to the Feel the pain video which I thought would have the music video to it! But no, I canna find it! Good one though!

@Thevideopyramidhead1 We like to do it right, here in Blighty, and the bands tend to reciprocate ;)
It's Dinosaur Jr. Buy every album.
i agree man.
AMAZING.
I honestly don't think I was aware that Dino ever had a drummer other than Murph and I even read our band could be your life.
George and J are buds and have been together in other projects despite that he only appears on an album on 1 Dinosaur Jr song Can't We Move This Along? All of the drumming on Without A Sound and the rest of the drumming on Hand it over were done by J
Thanks man
I dunno. Probably from elsewhere on youtube or maybe some fan site. Maybe it's not believable, but it's cool to think so.
i tihnk that might be a faulty guitar lead coz right at the end of the song you see him reach down to fiddle with his lead or input jack or something
j with a telecaster is odd.
@Daniel McCarthy hahahaha thats alright and yeah the do sound different in the music video then to live performances
READING FESTIVAL 1997
what year was this? I'm seeing them in 1 month in Toronto! can't wait! :D
so what's up with the 1:3 aspect ratio?
This is a great song. Neil Young is the father of grunge, Nirvana are the kings of grunge
was dinosaur jr filmed at reading 1991???
i know what you mean. its because Lou isnt there :(
oh shit my mistake the first time i saw this was as a recorded and they sound different my apoligies i am so sorry
You're Welcome
What year was that?

@AlvacadoNlemons bullshit, nirvana became nirvana because kurt cobains a fucking genius. and by the way it was the pixies who nirvana emulated for Nevermind. get yo facts straight boy.
Dinosaur Jr. is awesome though, as I am listening to them as i write this
why are they throwing thing at them? =/
1997.
estoy de acuerdo , pero ellos influenciaron a nirvana y otras bandas mas, a crear el llamado grunge por eso digo que son los padres .
@AlvacadoNlemons *melvins
George Berz
not bad
Needs more BASS
telecaster?
Yeah j plays teles a lot in the studio
they are the father of grunge
uh, that is them though...
@cardigansarecool no shit sherlock. thats my point
they are better live then they are in studio idk what yr talking about
cept the new one )=
yeah but throwing water bottles is a bad idea you could couase something on stage to burn up
1997
ma il basso lo suona a casaccio :D
I remember the mtv video of this song..it sounded much better than this live version..terrible vocals..
no it's not murph either
heh
And you can do better?
Bad preform
something better better show up soon or we'll all surely suffocate from the bad fumes of new millenium shite tunes
1997
