hey d'angelo
holy shit its deangelowallace
hey it’s you
d’angelo likes my bloody valentine ?
Starting to believe you have a secret RYM account at this point.
will never forget when this song blew my eardrums at a live show
One thing Ive learned from mbv comment sections is that I have to start wearing hearing protection to live shows
will never forget when I put this song on a party and I literally broke my ear with bottle
@@santiagoquevedo1186 how and why
Same. Saw them in 2013 in sydney and I was in the back and it was still blisteringly loud and so good haha
I still consider their couple of gigs at the Norwich Arts centre in around 1987/88 as the loudest I've ever experienced. Pure ear drum shattering noise 👍
this has got to be my favorite mbv song
Yessir >;3
Listen to sonic youth then
@@Ezekiel_wickham they said mbv not their like all time fav song
@@boozerrr their profile picture is mbv, safe to assume its one of their favorite songs. and what do you have against sonic youth? all mbv fans should check them out
@@saturnjr9136I have nothing against sonic youth I was just a bit confused by what you ment plus I like sonic youth anyways lol
I swear these releases will give me tinnitus for a week! Totally worth it hahaha
+
They've given that to me a few times since the 80's
〰️〰️👂
🇮🇪
Watch that, though. It's funny until it doesn't go away. Once that happens, that's your new life. It'll never get any better -- and it can get much worse.
WHAT?
@@LeftCoastGator it's not true that it can't get better, but I concur. Just about the opposite of fun.
Saw this live in Dallas back in 2009. It lasted almost 20 minutes long. Soooooo loud and euphoric. Felt like I was strapped to the outside of a rocket ship.
WoW! A song that demands to be epic actually played epic rave up. Lucky.
Saw these guys in Austin back in 2013. Greatest show I’ve been too by far.
Love when they started playing this song cause I knew they ended it by blasting the crowd with unimaginable noise.
During the show I was like “this isnt that loud” and then I walked out with my sister and she tried telling me something and I couldn’t hear her
Now imagine having to hear every time they have a concert ._____.
they do a holocaust version, where it just gets louder and louder for 20 mins straight before the drop part, it feels like you are being punched by the end of it and emptied nearly the entire venue lmao
@@georgemoody253 that hurts to just read lmao
@@georgemoody253 yup, that was the set closer at the Fillmore Denver show on the m b v tour. I stayed toward the back of the venue and it was just right, so many incredulous/hurt/offended expressions on people’s faces as they filed out
I heard them play early or mid 90'ies in Copenhagen. The whole concert was very unreal, ethereal and surreal. I never really "saw" them as anything but unmoving shadows because they had these blinding white lights behind them most of the time, and there probably were some smoke too. It was loud as fuck, and yes, the last 20 minutes was just pure noise getting louder and louder.
The comeback of shoegaze is here
it arguably started in 2008 pal lol
@@sale9667
You'd wanna be going back another 20 years from 2008 to even begin to realise Shoegaze 🙄
@@trevordoolan5011 I can't quite workout what you are trying to say haha
Sale I was going to say the same... the comeback happened in the late 00's, reason why MBV and Slowdive both had comebacks after 20 plus years of inactivity.
@@sale9667 he’s oldhead gatekeeping shoegaze without realizing (pun un-intended) what ur saying
i figured out debbie and colm have a kind of 'beat language'. the reason debbie is energetic as fuck in live shows are because the bass and the drums are the base elements on a song. so she drops down the bass to help colm stay into the beat. theres sometimes she even look at him to tell something
Synced up w the kick drum for sure. She knocks those basslines out
Thank you domino for bringing them back
Bring on the timelessness where every mbv song already recorded and to be recorded plays simultaneously within. You made me realise.

One of the best songs ever made hands down.
hopefully this ep gets re released and is available to stream. hopefully hopefully on vinyl too pls kevin “wangy bar” shields
*Insert mermaid in a black hole clip*
it was rereleased. first 5 songs on the EPS 1988-1991 compilation
itll be included in a cd compilation, pretty cool stuff, go buy!! but yea i wish it would be released on vinyl and individually on streaming. i just ripped it off youtube and onto my itunes
it is available to stream already, in the ep's 1988-1991 compilation
Kevin "wangy bar" Shields. Fantastic name
The morbid lyrics go together perfectly with the music’s dreamy dissonance and the soft vocals. It’s so disturbing yet so pleasant!
This song is literally amazing
You just don't know how much I love everything about this.
We Do❗
🇮🇪
MBV had a nice balance of heaviness along with beautiful light melody. Reminds me of what Iron Butterfly was doing a couple of decades earlier.
god that noise section is amazing
afaik they have played it for over 30 mins in some gigs
Reminds me of Sonic Youth
@@mtr801 yeah mbv were influenced by them, this song in particular is probably the best manifestation of that... like, if you put thurston's, lee's or kim's vocals over it it would probably sound like something off daydream nation
Apparently, according to Kevin Shields, the noise section once made a guy in the audience literally shit himself.
@@jmckenzie962 lmao Glorious.... 🤣💩
One of the most important songs in my personal soundtrack to my life.
Seems so exciting, just like the first time hearing it.
Wonderfully wonderful
LOVE U MBV
Everyone nonchalantly joking about hearing damage. That shit is no joke and not reversible. Take care of your hearing; wear earplugs at shows and lower the volume on your headphones from time to time.
@@GojiraScorn "Any Requests"? "Can you turn your amps to two because they are too loud"!!!!
Take the joy out of existance!!!!!
Bit late now though isn't it?
tell the ones that can still hear you
saw them in SF in 2009? Sonic Boom opened. And yes the noise segment was epic-there were a few moments in their set that the bass was so loud it was literally lifting me off the ground and shaking me violently like I was a ragdoll! haha...A very very fun show. Def in my top 10!
What did (you say you'd) find
Then come, come, come, get the hell inside
You can close your eyes
Well you might as well commit suicide
Wait for me because I waited for you
No that's not what you should do
Don't hate me 'cause I don't hate you
Insane eyes
You made me realize
Something in you died
Well no, no, no, no fault of mine
Something in you died
Well no, no, no, no fault of mine
Make the (hell) out of what you can see
Maybe then you'll not hang beside me
Don't ask me 'cause I cannot see
Insane eyes
You made me realize
What did (you say you'd) find
Then come, come, come, get the hell inside
You can close your eyes
Well you might as well commit suicide
Wait for me because I waited for you
No that's not what you should do
Don't hate me 'cause I don't know you

*the embodiment of an adrenaline-fuelled rage that ferments, sizzles and contorts into a fight-or-flight euphoria*
I swear I keep seeing that part of the Pink Floyd wall movie where Pink throws his TV out the window in this
love them so much
Went round with them the original time. Just hoping the younger generation will find them thanks to all the rereleases! Ugh they're so good.
Like all good bands seems like they remain almost as popular now as they did the first time round. I think shoegaze in particular is having a resurgence cause many new artists are always coming out and employing that ethereal dreamy sound. Missed them originally but been listening since 2003 🎶🤘
I’m 17 years old and mbv is my favorite band ever!! I have a band and our cover of this song has become a staple of our shows :) coolest song ever written. I would listen to it like thrice a day for a month straight and never get tired of it
gen z is loving shoegaze. thankfully i think were fine on this front. (im a member of gen z btw that kidna sounded like an old boomer saying that)
gen z here. i love shoegaze
Zillenial here (born in '94), just discovered MBV this year (as well as the shoegaze genre in general) and they've become one of my favourite bands! As well as having a huge impact on my own sound, I'll be releasing a shoegaze album of my own this month
This EP is their best work besides Loveless, I think.
MBV2013 is much much better then YMMR
@@aarondorris7639 I agree.
Isn't Anything is also amazing
This and isn't anything are my favorite works by MBV, but their discography is so consistently good that it's very close

YOU MADE ME REALISE
This was the first MBV song I ever heard. Still love it today
the mammas and the pappas meet sonic youth >,
THE VISUALS ARE AMAZING
One of the first songs i've heard from them. Still love it the same way 23 years later.
Had no idea one of the coolest bass players ever directed some of the coolest videos ever. ALL HAIL DOUGLAS HART 🙌
Do you remember the first time that you ever heard this song? I'm old and I played in bands (that recorded and toured) from age 14 (1979) through approx 2012. I still play and, occasionally record for kicks but, no touring. Touring is probably the absolute best way that I have ever been introduced to exciting and incredible bands and performers whom I would've probably never heard/seen/met/befriended! Back in the "old days" (hahaha) you would meet great people playing in freakin amazing bands that you would vibe with and you would exchange mixed cassettes that you had been listening to on high rotation in the van as you moved from gig to gig and did the hard miles. Sometimes you would hear something you had never heard and, it hit you super hard and, deeply. Most of the time you would have a hand written cardboard insert with the cassette and, the epic, mindblowing new song/artist would be readily available instantly and you would seek out more of their music. BUUUUUUT, there were many times when you had a cassette with no insert or, anything! Not even a barely legible sticky label thingy on the actual cassette and, you were kinda screwed and, it would drive you insane because it could be a HUGE band...but, it could also be a super obscure or, up n coming band from...who knows where!
Holy tangent Batman! Ok...do you remember the VERY FIRST TIME you heard this song? I'm NOT checking anybody's "cool cards" here...if NOW is the 1st time that you have ever heard this song...that's OUTSTANDING! You have listened to an epic musical GAMECHANGER.
The first time that I ever heard this song was on one of those band swapping tour van mixed cassette swaps!
No cardboard insert or labels. I traded it for a mix of Canadian and US West Coast jangly pop and noisy but melodic types of bands. I traded with The Jazz Butcher (Pat Fish) who was in North America touring the Fishcotheque album that was released by Creation Records in the UK. "You Made Me Realize" was on the cassette he had swapped with me and I was literally gobsmacked by THIS song...this AMAZING unknown song...it took me around a month to make an identification of the song/artist and, eventually I would come to learn that the cassette that Pat Fish had traded to me was a "private Creation mixtape" for the various artists on Creation and select music insiders only. And, it never even had labels because the label was not wanting unreleased music to be pirated.
Completely anonymous first listen...GAMECHANGER.
And, I was JUST reminiscing about the cassette trade yesterday when I first heard the news about the passing of the wonderful and extremely talented Pat Fish aka The Jazz Butcher 💖🔥
Thanks Doug, but man are you long-winded.
@@michaelmorphites6733 BWAHAHAHA...yes, I totally was! Oops!
@@dougsmith7083 you know what, scrap my curmudgeonly comment. Nothing wrong with waxing lyrically about such great things. Your enthusiasm and love shine through, and that’s a great thing. Forgive me.
@@michaelmorphites6733 I totally went on forever...tired me out reading it!!
No need to reel in any gentle mocking/joking...absolutely okay
Cheers!!!
Creation label had some great artists. Swervedriver comes to mind and I think Ride were on there as well.
my favorite mbv track, once u put it on u cant stop listening.

I LOVE THIS SO MUCH
I never tire of this joy this track brings
Just noticed this great band. Thank you for posting this.
I'm so excited!!!
There’s something broken with you if you don’t like the Smiths, Spacemen 3 and MBV ♥️♥️♥️
Agree, though remove The Smiths and replace with The Fall 😅
love this stuff!
Gracias por subir cosas, son geniales.
This changed everything
Yes ❤️
This and ‘Drive It All Over Me’ are monumental pre-Loveless mbv ❤
this might be my fav song of the entire mbv catalog which is a VERY high bar
Legit the only show I went to whereafter I was sincerely worried that I had acquired permanent hearing damage. Amazing though. Incredible band.
best band ever
my favourite song period.
I want to thrash my bedroom while screaming to this!
... gotta be one of my alltime fav' bands and particularly have a penchant for the first EP's
This song makes me feel like an incredible sad badass
Love this
Muto obrigado por esse tesouro! Biscoito fino 😍✌
BEST MBV SONG
I didn't knew this side of MBV, cool!
This song is usually their closer for all live shows. The decibels are so crazy high. They gave out earplugs to the crowd when I saw them in 2009.
The broken fan sound is LIT🗣️💥🔥🔥🔥
happy to be 50 ..... a sweet spot in music
I love this song but i love the single sleeve image even more!
I heard dis shit high af dis shit changed my life fr
Listen to i only said while high...
so happy about this
Not a single dislike. I'm hoping it stays that way
Raw, explosive, wall of sound, yet psychedelic, symbol of MVB
Yeahhhh! MBV 🖤😍
Luv MBV
Saludos desde Chile!
Temazo! Ojos dementes!!
AHHHHHH
a single that saw thousands of mop-headed indie kids shaking their thing on student union dancefloors up and down the nation during the late 80s (even if we never quite knew what to do during the extended guitar storm towards the end of the cut).
congratulations to your good music taste whoever that's reading this!
Realise new record, love u
Los amoooo
I had the privilege of going deaf at MBV @ Santa Monica Civic. Would do again.
masterpiece
favorite mvb song. reminds me of this one person.
Woah..I'm actually feeling this!

I just looked over, and I see one dislike. Well, it is only one outta 1.4K 🤷♂️
The Unlonely Of Unloneliness
Thanks to correct me, I'm learning this language recently.❤️
And yes, certain people do not enjoy themselves and are projected in dislikes
This song reminds me of my Sonic Youth/Athens, GA music days. I think my high school friend Aaron Wegelin would have liked this.
Takes me back to a small flat in Manchester ❤
