I think allowing synergies between bespoke + parent factions can help make warcry a good 2 box game. A bespoke + a single box of something from its parent faction should be what Warcry should "tend towards"

The take about hating the need to roll for abilities strikes me coming from someone that should just stick to Killteam. Rolling for abilities is what makes this game so damn good - removing that would make Warcry so much less interesting
It does feel like one of the core elements of Warcry, for sure
Obviously really subjective, but I tend to think most of the original eight points warbands were a little bland - I'm not sure I'd have gotten into Warcry if they were the only options, and even if I did, I'm not sure I could've got my friend group excited to join in - having said that - I do think having fewer factions would likely mean better game balance, and should also make it easier to make each faction feel unique
The “dudes with spikey armour” aesthetic kinda got old quick

Corvus Cabal Rant hurt my soul. Probably also hurts the Ironjawz players who get 2 turn tabled by Corvus.
Real ones know Corvus are awesome
if IJZ get tabled by Corvus it’s dice or I played in a terrible spot. Even if they get the terrain setup they want I have to knowingly welcome a tripple from the birds.
@@robertviscomi8199 when you need to contest objectives and shrike talons can get set up on terrain, you can't *not* willingly take the tripple without just not using your units at all. Shrike talons who get to jump off terrain get to kill a brute boss and similar units reliably in one turn. And even the t5 chaff gets killed instantly *and* leaves them the opportunity to reposition after quite often. Ijz are tough, but Shrikes don't give a heck with Strength 6 attacks.
@ that implies you get initiative , have said terrain, roll well. Otherwise you can be disrupted or they can measure out to make it so you can’t just swoop down into that move. Yes they can burst things down but there’s set up required and a couple factors that have to go into your favor. Are they cool? Yes. Is it fun? Yes. Should they be played ? Yes. Will it be funny when an orc climbs, swings at the top of his climb then shield bashes it off the terrain? 100% yes. I’m not against the cabal. But they need a few things to go their way. But can they win? Yes , absolutely.
I don't feel like using my win vs Ironjawz as an argument to remove wait is all that good; the gane was a kill missions and not being able to wait made the game less interactive in that I basically had to climb all the towers and not engage at all for 3 turns

Ooof on the Corvus take. Felt very just don't play Corvus Cabal and take good stuff. I feel if you take the same good stuff every time for every warband it feels less playing the bespoke and more playing the good stuff with the bespoke models to flavour it a bit more.
I only play casual myself and some of my Warbands are the worst going in the game but I play them because I want to play those warbands, I like the theme they are going for even if sadly they may not be amazing. If I wanted to play a better working warband I'd just buy a better one (looking at you Monsta Killaz you ever temptation but even then with them once again I love their theme).
That’s why I’m leaning towards a drastic change up in my Untamed Beasts!

So you can basically be assured you'll get new Ed warcry next year, which should help.

agree agree agree agree apparently people don't play killteam at the upper level where it takes 4 shitting hours to get through one world's open match, leave warcry alone, I can play 5 games of warcry in the same time as killteam players play one game. agree. git gud play better agree. ambivalent on corvus cabal. fuck multi-dice systems, its fine as it is. As a painter, yeah lets go back to the 8-points. Bespoke warbands should be a separate division, just allow multi-box. unfortunately warcry is the biggest product melting pot.

Also disliking the way reactions work. Innate faction reactions should be like giving an option to use it once in 2 turns or once per game or whatever for free. Otherwise most "elite" fighters simply wont use the reactions, and what's the point in those then? Maybe its the question of generic abilities and their balance compared to the factions ones.

In terms of reactions, I think when it comes to elite warbands it can offer an interesting choice. Provided the reaction is strong enough to justify. For example, burning the Blacktalon reaction to reduce the number of crits coming in could win a point, prevent a death, or even win a game. I’d go as far as saying elite warbands have more interesting tactical nuance when it comes to reactions even if they don’t necessarily use them as often
@@wargamesontoast crits are another issue, having them on 6 with no way to make it a certainty (looking at flameseekers) is harmful to many units with 1/4 damage. But yeah, overall remaking of reactions as something worthwile on elites would be fun to see.
