Growlanser 4, I think it was the 4th one. Wayfarer of Time is one of those games I was so lucky to get on the PSP before it became too hard to find. I remember going into a niche gaming shop a few months before it closed, I only had enough to buy just 1 or 2 games on the PSP or PS Vita depending on what I saw there, and I chose Growlanser Wayfarer of Time. Really happy I did because of the alien Cat-Girl in her leopard style swimsuit and her Barbarella style hair she has got going for her. Love the Fan Service and Dating Sim elements outside of the main quest so I can't be thankful enough of that lucky chance I had when I got to stumble into that niche gaming shop, it was never around for long near my local state capital city but so thankful I got it when I did.

Hello Erick! I hope you are well. :) Perhaps in the future could you do some tiered videos on the Final Fantasy series, Kingdom Hearts, or Dragon Quest? I would love to hear your opinions on how those series entries stack up in a tier list.
Would have loved to get Code of Princess. Sadly because of the Nintendo 3DS being region locked and the game being so hard to find in PAL region, I am more happier to just watch others do Lets Plays of the game so I could know what I missed out on. Though when it comes to Atlus JRPGs, there are some that are published by Atlus but developed by other developers who also went on to have other Publishers for their games. Vanillaware comes to mind and I am guessing 2 of the best JRPGs even though they are considered as Action JRPGs are Odin Sphere and Dragon's Crown. So I am aware you have already covered those games already.
Yeah having it only on ps4 was a bad move. Was there a deal with sony or was this just sega/atlus being their usual weird self? Also wasn't the game just release at a really bad time?
The problem is, with the exception of Muramasa, Vanillaware is exclusively a Sony developer. I can wish that Atlus' relationship with Nintendo can bring it to the Switch, but PC is a far off dream.

The NDS remake did add an area map, but it was only useful in a few areas.
It even had two sequels, one on PS1 and another on PS2, but that one was a weird one...
And yes, they were ONLY IN JAPAN!!!
Is SMT Soul Hackers no longer available on the Eshop?
I just downloaded it on the 3ds eshop a few weeks ago. That and the rest of the smt titles including etrian odyssey. There was a 50% off sale for all the games so I cleaned house lol still haven't touched any of them except devil survivor overclocked which is AMAZING!!!!!
@@menos4086 the way Erick was talking it seemed like physical was the only option. I thought maybe it got pulled for some reason. Thanks!
I'm a fan of Strange Journey if you have it. It's like an SMT game set in John Carpenter's The Thing. 1st person dungeon crawler with instantly recognizable monsters and combat system.
@@stashmerkin9576 yup i picked up strange journey redux as well. Im gonna get to them all eventually. Right now smt 3 nocturne got me busy. That game is pretty tough.. it gots me on edge. I keep touching base at a savepoint every chance I get lol I might die at any moment. But yea no problem man. Happy gaming!!
Dissing on first person dungeon crawlers?
The Mary Skelter and Coven of Dusk series would like a word with you...
I saw comparisons between Code of Princess and Guardian Heroes in the press back in the day, but once I played I knew they were very different beasts. GH is clearly a beat 'em up with an emphasis on fighting mechanics. CoP feels like a side view action RPG and is much slower. Still good, but different.
Vanilla ware always was underrated. Odin sphere is literrally still a masterpiece, and all other games from them are at least very good. love this company, really hope it wont be bankrupt.
They need to stop releasing their games only on PlayStation especially now with the way things are going with sony and the fans taste in games changing
@@luisitojr1992 even on pc, they will not make that much money unless they accept to sell their games in the 20 to 30 price range... sadly, pc gamer wont see a difference in quality between their 2d works and indie works in the 20 price range.
@@charlestrudel8308 with how well persona 4 did on PC I'm sure they got their eyes on atlus now. But a game like this being $60 is alittle to much maybe $30 or $40. But I'm hoping they don't give up on the game and announce it's coming to other platforms maybe it's to late but who knows
@@charlestrudel8308 the game was also release at a bad time right?
@@luisitojr1992 p4 golden didnt do that well at all, well, unless steam spy is wrong. lifetime sale of the vita release is between 800 000 and 850 000, the steam sale by steam spy sit between 500 000 and a million. but the steam version is 20 us instead of 40, and the install base is close to 10 times more users plus it was port beg for years... i call it a success, but not a game changer at all. when atlus said it was positive, they said that and then didnt proceed to make another release like that pc yet. no real announcement beside a vague statement that they look into it. I call what they said about it being a success something they say to their shareholder just to seem confident in this choice.
Anyone know how call it music intro of his videos?
2 games that are fan translated you have never covered ar Super Robot Taisen OG Generations PS2 remake and Sol Trigger PSP. Really great games Id love to hear your opinion on.
Do you know what else is underrated? Nier Replicant Full OST Grimoire Noir Edition ! Seriously! Why don't people like gothic church organ music?????
Anyway, Tactics Ogre is amazing! Let us cling together for psp is one of my favourite games ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I still have wizardry tale of the forsaken land by Atlus. It is a PS2 RPG.
Remember that club Nintendo sold me Yggdra union back at E3 2006 like an Advance Wars clone.
Knight of Lodis... God I hate it's job/alignment system. It feels like it's meant to give you painful curve balls at all times. Example: The upgrade for healers can't ever kill a single other creature while healing a ton of times, but one of the emblems you can get is make one character become all classes.
It doesn't stop you from beating the game, but some requirements are just stupid. -Yet I love Ogre Battle 64-
*I'm also playing Shining Force rn. I'm having fun with this Fire Emblem lite.*
When will you do a top 10 of your top 10??😂😂😂Seriously keep on doing your videos, you're such a fan of rpg
This is how Among Us look like in an RPG
if not for tactics Ogre you would never have had Final Fantasy Tactics or FF 12, I just wish they would drop computer ports on Steam ... though I think some made it to a Saga collection ...
de psp version of legacy of ys you can hit the enemies with the sword too
I'm playing #1 currently. It's like nothing I played before.
I see erick upload a Top video. I click
Atlus definitely the "JRPG Distributor KING" of all time.
Would love to try 13 Sentinels, but looks like it's PS4 only
I feel like I saw this video last week.
where is the dark spire eric???
I got 13 sentinels day 1. But I've not been able to get into it. Why they choose a battle system where you can't even see the characters? Wtf.
I saw a spot today for the game 13 sentinels hype 😁
Dude soul hackers is like 20 bucks all the time on the 3ds shop. Support Atlus ppl, not re sellers. Soul Hackers is crazy good and worth the outrageous reseller price
I'm not 100% sure but I think I own soul hackers. I haven't played it yet since I have so many games I haven't finished
I love Yggdra Union. I FUCKING LOVE SOUL HACKERS I finished the game 2 times and I love every character... that being said... games that are localized by Atlus should be considered games from Atlus?
Soul Hackers is a Devil Summoner game not a SMT game. It's part of the MegaTen series though.
I think the Western release cover disagrees with you :(
@@tsumugijohnson3220 You don't know what you're talking about. Atlus USA added the "SMT" to non SMT games as a marketing thing just as they tried to do in the 90s with the "Revelations" tag.
But if you were a Megaten fan you'd know that. :(
@@ajzn97 If you would've just read my comment instead of making up your preferred version yourself, you'd know that I only said the Western release cover disagrees with you. :(
I guess I'm not a true MegaMan fan then :(
@@tsumugijohnson3220 I'm not sure if you're a true MegaMan fan but a true Megaten fan, that's debatable.
But yes, go back to your waifu nuPersona tier list and edgelord Nocturne memes instead of arguing what is a SMT game what isn't. Maybe read up on this series and what has been changed in western releases. This guy Erick also gave wrong info in one of his videos too a while back.
Maybe there'll be a day when new fans would stop using "Mainline SMT" when they're talking about SMT itself.
@@ajzn97 buddy... I'm the truest MegaTWENTY fan in the entire world
Where is Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology?
Damn, turn the volume down on that intro song, holy crap.
Have alliance Alive for 3da but mannnn they selling high from independent sellers
Was gonna download that on eshop when it was on sale but got ys instead
@@IcanGOwithTHEflow yea I'm still trying too get the switch version but the prices
@@God12322 I would rather have the physical game too I usually only download the games I see under 20$ that I don't see for less than 40$ anywhere
@@IcanGOwithTHEflow the lowest was 90 but used with no case . The news be over 100 dollars close too 200
You better off getting the HD version. Yeah it's download only but it's cheaper and easier to get. I like my games physical but there's no way in hell I'm buying a old game at full price or higher
13 sentinels a master piece
What is it with Atlus and, well, flopping? Is it bad marketing? Cause the games are quite good
13 sentinels is definitely underrated
Shining Force is incredible.
Hexyz force on psp underrated too
growlanser 4 may be considered the best but growlanser 1 is far superior than 4 in my opinion. Excellent soundtrack, great overall story, cool battle system and a decent difficulty, not too hard but no joke at certain points. GL4 has some problems with its music that are greatly weak when compared to 1
Too bad no one is willing to translate this absolute masterpiece so we can enjoy playing it in english rather the english .txt guide at gamesfaq
I'll take your word regarding 13 sentinels.
yet another gem that will never get the success it deserves because it got released at the wrong time on a sony console
Yeah it was a really bad time. I'm hoping they announce the game coming out on other systems but it may be to late
It's a VN, would be niche no matter where it releases.
I see frayne and clicked
It seems to me that just about all these have one major problem which makes them underrated. They're on portable consoles. A lot of people like myself don't enjoy handheld.
Wait, 13 Sentinels is underrated?? That game is another masterpiece from Atlus/Vanillaware, what the heck...
It sold like 500k copies so its not like completely unknown but yeah I think it should be more well known than it is.
Still i dont see the brigandine
Great video, except for 13 sentinels didn't really like that game
Number one. Persona 5
Technically 13 Sentinels was not so underrated, at least: from what I know it sold well...
400K sales worldwide as of March 2021
@@oyoyoyo7624 Great sales for Visual Novel.
So basically you're trying make me buy a 3DS
This is pain. Everything Nintendo is ridiculously expensive where I live
@@tortoiseknight8438 here is expensive AF as well, but Sony is messing everything so we are running out of options for JRPG consoles
