    These keto cream cheese pancakes are sugar-free, nut-free and super soft and moist. By using coconut flour (which is a drupe, not a nut) these pancakes are suitable for those following a low carb ketogenic diet.
    WHY ADD CREAM CHEESE TO PANCAKES?
    Keto pancakes are all too often dry and stiff. They tend to be made from flour which doesn’t contain gluten, which makes them very fragile and breakable.
    These pancakes, however, benefit greatly from the addition of cream cheese, which not only adds some additional fat to keep the mixture and final product soft, but also provides structure to the pancakes whilst cooking, and whilst eating.

    I made these for breakfast today for myself (KETO) and my GF (non-KETO). They were phenomenal and super easy! In fact, they were so good, I would probably prefer these over full-carb pancakes if I had a choice. My non-KETO GF enjoyed them as well. Thanks for this great recipe!!!
    Tip: Use a measuring cup (like 1/2 a 1/4 cup) to ensure you pour 2 oz. portions per pancake (recipe makes one cup of batter on the nose). I used a pyrex measuring cup and under-poured mine and over-poured my GF because the batter obscured the delineations on the pyrex glass. I used an electric griddle set at ~325 degrees and 2-2 1/2 minutes was about the time per side. I used grass-fed butter on the griddle rather than coconut oil, which I didn’t have on hand.

    The recipe here is simple, but even with a simple recipe like this it's always helpful to mention the various options for making it as you have done. Excellent job with that. Also, I like the fact that you mentioned the real sugar equivalent to help us know how much of the sweetener we have on hand to use. I think this should be done by everyone who puts out a lowcarb recipe that needs sweetener. Thanks for this video.

    I have tried many different sugar free syrups. My absolute favorite is Vermont Sugar Free Butter flavor Syrup. Its on Amazon. Cheaper there than Walmart. It was twice the price at WalMart. I paid 6.25 for a bottle. I even put it on my keto ice cream!

    The Queen maple syrup products are amazingly good. Such a surprise that I tricked my family with it. They love the blueberry flavoured one. My local woolies didn’t have the apple and cinnamon version, so I’m looking forward to trying it. Can’t thank you enough for this.
    PS. I’m experimenting with silken tofu and these syrups.

    Dear me, you have so many videos that are worthy of a thumbs up, but you seem to have gone right off the rails. These aren't pancakes, as an Aussie you MUST know they aren't pancakes (if you don't go and grab your mothers recipe book). At BEST these are pikelets. A) pancakes aren't fluffy, B) pancakes don't include a sweetener.
    Basic recipe (Commonsense Cookery N.S.W Cookery Teacher's Association 1970) et. al. :
    1 Cup plain flour
    1 egg
    pinch salt
    1 1/4 cups milk
    (Please don't tell me that this isn't keto, I know that but the principle MUST remain the same for it to be called a pancake).
    I realise you are trying to attract an American audience, but why not call them American pancakes?

    • @FatForWeightLoss
      @FatForWeightLoss  4 роки тому

      You’re right, pancakes don’t contain sugar. However, 1 cup of regular milk contains 12g of natural occurring sugar, so when you use unsweetened milk, you have to add sugar. According to your recipe, what would be at least 1 Tbsp, and then you top that with something sweet (or savoury). I make recipes with ingredients like this for a particular reason, not to just adhere to traditions. Hope this helps 👌

    • @vtbn53
      @vtbn53 4 роки тому

      @@FatForWeightLoss Nice try, but I don't top with anything sweet, so how do you account for making them fluffy? And what is the "particular reason"? I can't think of a better reason for doing anything than to adhere to tradition.
