Those asking about getting the tire on/off: patience and strength. Get a tire iron/spoon/lever. If you plan on getting it off dry, wear gloves, but you pretty much need the tire iron to get the lip of the tire over the outside of the rim to get it off. Keep prying on either side until you have the majority of the tire over one side of the rim, then you can hold it upright and push the actual rim through. When getting it back on, I used Vasoline like Majin did, after getting the majority of it around the rim, but applied pressure using my feet/knees to hold the tire in place. Keep using the iron/lever to lip the tire back on the insides of the the rim. It is agonizing and requires patience, but you don't wanna take this to a bike shop just for them to tell you they can't do it.
I use standard mm set. 1mm-2mm-2.5mm-3mm-4mm-5mm. The bolts are made of cheaply forged metals, so they strip easily. They also use thread lock blue glue which makes it also harder to remove without stripping. The trick is to hammer in a Torx Allen key that’s just a little bit bigger; than remove
I have. very very hard to get in. I was even boiling it to make it expand. don't give up. get a friend even to get that sucker on. worth it to not have to worry or ever do this again
To this day, I have not found somebody that supplies these parts. I’m sure you can get them on AliExpress. The original manufacture website customer service is terrible.
What size is the hex key you use to first pop it off I tried using the one that came in the box but it seems that’s pretty much obsolete unless you’re trying to do something with the handlebars thanks for the video btw only relevant video for this scooter

I want to replace my back tire with a solid one, im pretty sure its the right size, i got the same one for my front tire but i had to remove the front bumper to actually use it. Do you recommend holding off or going through with putting it on?
i had my scooter for 8 weeks and just got my first rear flat. im not sure how it happend but i always ride full speed on sidewalks. i road over an elevated sidewalk corner twice. as i approach the corner i pop the front tires off the ground and my rears hit the corner full speed. i am sure this is what gave me the flat.. i wont be doing that again. best to approach corners slowly
Make sure you’re always riding at full air psi or maybe just a little bit over. This will avoid inner tube pinch flats. This is when the rim pinches the inner tube.
i have a go-trax apex electric scooter i,have tried any every thing i,cant get the solid tire back on the rim can i put the tire in the oven ? thank thank you
I'm scouring the internet for a video of how to replace the front tire, but keep only getting rear tire videos. Both my tires went out after about 4 miles of use. If anyone knows of a video for both/front especially if it has an actual explanation, can you comment with the link pls?
How many times have you had to do this repair? I had to 3 times in 4 weeks! GoTrax has a problem with rear wheels deflated. It's a design defect. I discovered after I looked more closely at the problem...and Gotrax's evasive solution. There's too much tube in the lower profile rear wheel. The excess material allows the tube spin to and fro while braking, accelerated and decelerating. The volume inside the rear wheel is less than in the front wheel do to the motor design. Therefore, the tube material should be reduced. They've ignored that to save money by trying to use the same tube in front and back. Sorry, you can't do that. Physics doesn't work that way.
After a challenging three-hour effort, I finally managed to disassemble my rear tire, and surprisingly, your every statement proved to be correct. There was a minimum of 4 centimeters of excess material causing the difficulty in tire removal.
Ran over a nail today I’m assuming u can’t plug it it was a small nail would I need a new tube when I filled it up with air on the apex pro scooter go trax u could hear it pouring out the stem is that still just a tube replace ?
Yes, you most likely need a new innertube. You could also use rubber cement and electrical tape to plug the hole from the inside of the tire, then replace with the new innertube
Amazon. Look for 8.5x2 inner tube with straight valve. www.amazon.ca/yabbay-Thickened-Electric-Replacement-Tire-Model/dp/B07PWVFN88/ref=mp_s_a_1_8_sspa?crid=64MWIZBJOKWA&keywords=8+5+x+2+inner+tube&qid=1692915982&sprefix=8.5+x+2+%2Caps%2C187&sr=8-8-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9zZWFyY2hfbXRm&psc=1
In my experience it doesn’t really work. Just makes a mess. I believe the pressure is too intense for it to actually work. I believe if you put a small amount/the right amount. It might help slow down the air loss; but not significant. The best way to protect yourself from punctures and pinches is to keep your tires at Full/Max PSI (maybe a little notches more) If you’re using the Scoot daily then at least once a week; top off air.
What size of tube was it that you got i have a flat tire on mine and am looking to replace it just need to know the size of tube please and thank you :) ?

Nice 💯
This is a great video. I’m going to try to replace my rear tire. Thank you for posting this. It really does help. 👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻👌🏻
You’re welcome
Appreciate the help!
What size Allen key did you use to remove the back paneling before using the socket wrench? None of the ones I have seen to fit and are stripping it.

At last an Apex video. Thanks much...
Have u tried the honeycomb tire though? Pls. advise.
I’m in the same boat. This guys video is the only one out there for the apex. I am such great gratitude I will name one of my children after him.
Honeycomb is possible, the tire costs about $35 to $75. Amazon.
The rim is a 6inch.
8.5inch solid/honeycomb tires Will Work 100%

Crap that is so hard to remove and install. Makes me just want to buy a whole new wheel instead.
Where can I order just the top part of the scooter like the handlebars along with the little computer console

How u get tire back on so easy
Video does not explain the critical part of removing tire
Its a visual aid
What size socket wrench did you use?
Not sure the size atm… I use a adjustable wrench
Pretty sure if it’s the same as vid it’s 18 mm for the big lug nuts

You can boil the solid rubber tire. Use Vaseline on the edges to help it slide on.

Amazon. Search 8.5x2 inch tires.
The inner tube should be included and it needs to be a straight nozzle/air valve.

Yes. They are sold on Amazon.

You didn’t need to take the brake disc off
Sometimes the disc can warp when you’re installing the new tire so I decided to take it off
