  • Step by step on how to properly do an oil change on a 2006 Yamaha Silverado 1700 (will be the same or very similar for any of the Yamaha bikes in the 1700cc family). I also talk about an add on that tells you alot about your engine health and may save it one day. Thanks for watching and don't forget to subscribe

Great video! Do you have a video on the oil pressure gauge install and where you bought your gauge and parts from. Thanks

Thanks, I do not but I'll check my old emails and my parts and I'll make up a short episode on it. If I remember correctly it was fairly cheep to do.

Should replace the crush washer on each plug... Cheap and won't ever leak.

Not a bad idea I have spairs, I inspect them before reinstalling, this style is very robust with a bit of oil for lubrication the rubber won't tare , they have 145000km on them and look good and don't drip a drop yet 👍

I can't get the oil plug bolt to break loose I've been on it for hours. I think he is the only answer unfortunately now I have to stop for family stuff today. Do you have any any more ideas

Could try spraying some penetrating oil on it but I don't think that will do much but , at this point I would try anything, could try some heat to like you were thinking . Never seen one that hard to come out

If the bike requires 4 liters of oil and you put in 4 liters of oil why would you have to check the level ??????

Thanks for watching, and should always double check , maybe all the old oil didn't come out and your level is way too high, or the level is low and needs more , just good practice to always double check just to ensure the level is 100% correct 👍

Hey how you doing it's been awhile since I spoke to you having a problem changing my oil I can't get the front left oil plug to come undone and I'm using a 17 mm wrench and I cannot get that thing to budge and I don't want to cause a problem what can I do

Hey been a long time , everything all good with the family ? Did you end up looking into your balance/steering issue ? If so what did you find ? Where the steering knuckle bearings ok ?
And I would grab a small ball pean Hamer (or any hammer ) and try a few light hammers on the end of the wrench in the loosening direction , if that doesn't work try hitting it a little harder , I've had that issue and that has always worked for me , have the closed end of the wrench on the plug so it dose not slip and strip the bolt head

@@ClargoGarage I think the dealership when they did it the last time use a threadlocker on it, that's what I'm thinking. Maybe it's my tools I don't know or maybe possibly me I'm not the greatest but I can't get a closed in wrench with the available space there to get over the bolt I was wondering if it was okay if I put a little bit of heat on that. What do you think ?

@jonprain412 heat would be my last resort, and if you do halfto not to much just incase it causes other problems or burns wiring , there's for sure horn wiring in that area and Maybe a sensor wire, can't remember , can you get a 2x4 or something under the kickstand ? Would give you abit more room to work and get the wrench in . They shouldn't of put lock tight on there .
