i love your videos so much! i used to be the same before we did a very expensive allergy treatment. travelling abroad where there are no “safe foods” is very hard

I don’t think you’ve mentioned this before. But I would think other than the mental having to constantly be on top of the allergies it would also be more expensive buying specific products. Glad you showed a way of traveling with allergies I think it’s important to raise awareness and also provide a space where people can see it’s possible
I don’t eat gluten and last summer my mom and I ventured to the land of pasta and pizza: Italy. Luckily my mom and I are super planners and we pre picked every restaurant we were going to eat at, plus we had backups just in case. We also took into account that we just couldn’t stomach the idea of pizza and pasta every single day for every meal, so we found incredible Mediterranean food, we like to sample European Mexican food, we tried gf Japanese jiggly pancakes, and finally we stopped in at a Hard Rock Cafe for a gf hamburger bun. I also brought some gf breakfast options (gf bagels mostly) and pre packaged peanut butter so it wouldn’t spoil. It was difficult but we had an amazing time and did not starve. I personally also found the whole experience of pre choosing restaurants to be far less stressful as I knew what to expect (pictures online, I already knew what to order) and I also knew about what time to expect the next meal to be. Sometimes traveling with dietary restrictions is very anxiety inducing and on previous European trips I ended up going very long periods of time without eating before finding something I could eat.
Can confirm, as someone with many food allergies, food is expensive, but in my case, much of my food is healthier bc I am allergic to many foods that are processed
The best for long flights would be gluten free wraps or sandwiches and snacks that come in packets or boxes for a mess free flight.Curries is a no no.I suppose you live and learn❤
How do you take your food with you on multiple planes without it spoiling? ++ I recommend you buy a dehydrating machine and dehydrate your food to take it with you, and all you need is some hot water, you should do a research on how campers do it and start a series of allergies free dehydrated food!
That’s a good idea but it might make her ill as hot water on planes is infamously unclean and the cause for a lot of people’s stomach problems at the beginning or end of their holiday
Your videos are inspirational and informative for people who have allergies. I’m developing more and more, so I’m pretty much never eating out and cooking my meals. 😂❤
Hi from a flight attendant! At least in my airline it is not allowed but you can always ask 😊 also, in a plastic container the answer should always be no cause it can melt in the oven And very few planes have microwave
Did you know that with many airlines, you can pre-select your meals? Options like low sodium, vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, etc., are available. As a mother and someone who deals with food allergies, I always order specific meals in advance. It doesn’t cost extra. And may I ask, how were you able to bring food with liquid sauce? I thought only certain amounts of liquids were allowed. I’d also appreciate any tips on packing my own food. ❤
thats true, but airlines cant guarantee that theyll have enough of the options, plus its smart to avoid possible cross contamination and any allergy attacks in the air
I've seen in some online groups people saying they had pre-booked a meal with said allergy and requirement and on the day did not get their meal as they had either run out, or they didn't actually provide a suitable allergy-free meal even though it was pre-booked! I'm sure some airlines are good and have options but it can be hard when you can't always trust them to follow through
Honestly I gained an eating disorder cos of depression and can over or under eat & not healthily either… you actually have so much strength cos I would’ve starved myself to death 😂
One of my greatest pleasures while traveling is to try local foods. I feel happy for you that you still venture out not making your medical condition a hindrance to travel❤
There are no microwaves on planes. Only hot ovens warm meal trays and hot water tanks. Maybe on a fancy airline like Emirates or something but usually no microwaves
Now that you mention about eating it cold I remember seeing a new? 🤔not sure but a heating lunchbox, I think it's work with charging or something don't know but I just want you to know since I'm also really introverted and knows how it feels when you get nervous to ask 😅
Unfortunately airlines don’t allow customers or crew to heat personal food items in ovens onboard seeing that the possible allergens inside those meals are not controlled.
Those fucking fry chips are the best 😭😭😭😭 I brought a bag for part of the trip home to the US last time and I have been craving them every day since. I swear I need nothing more than Woolworth's to be in the US but with no compromise on the South African standards.
I flew aer lingus last summer and they had an option for a gluten free meal. Unfortunately on the way to our vacation it was fish, and I don’t eat fish (and didn’t know it was fish until they handed it to me)…..so that was a bust, but it was chicken and rice on the way back which was very pleasant! Highly recommend checking out if the airline you’re going on has this option.
I am food intolerant, like allergies you have to check every ingredient. I forgot about being able to order specific foods on international flights on my trip to Canada 🇨🇦 from Australia 🇦🇺
Btw never ask for hot. Water in a plane cause people say it is reused toilet water and its better to wait for meal time they give u a small water bottle with every meal (well my planes do) and I'd u want cold water ask for a water bottle , A cup and ice in the cup stay safe❤
I wish I can live like her. Amidst all her allergies , she have a variety of choices for food. I've been healing from gastritis and I am eating the same foods over and over again for more than two years now. My only dream is to eat normal food outside.
I know we all have different tolerance levels for risk but for me precut fruit is a big no, way too much risk for cross contamination with my allergens. I don't eat anything on a plane that I didn't pack myself.
Wait, with all your allergies, you can have fruit? We have a lot of the same allergies, BUT mine are mild. So I can still eat a lot that you cant but in moderation. Fruits I can not touch. That, nuts, and soy(but I can have soy sauce? Lol) I also don't carry an epi pen because I'm in America and my insurance hates me 😅
Make sure it’s certified gluten free and you’ll be fine. There are foods that don’t contain wheat but can pick up trace contamination if they share production lines with food that has wheat. Gluten free means zero contact with wheat, so depending on your sensitivity you may not be able to go by ingredient list alone.
Based on the video, she is flying Emirates Economy class. When booking your ticket, you can choose if you have specific dietary requirements. Not sure if she had that option available tho. Might depend on the flight
I wonder if allergies like this can be triggered even if you're an adult already. Cuz my childhood friend has no allergies and when we suddenly eat seafood her allergies are triggered. We always eat seafood and I don't know why her allergies suddenly attack. Also, not only in seafood but many foods so suddenly. I recommend you to her. Cuz she was so down lately 😢

@@29999yearsago after you reheated it once you shouldn’t leave it hours until consumed again. Especially with pasta. She gets lots of food poisoning so I wouldn’t be surprised is because of this with all her food. Which sucks because she has it tough enough.
@@29999yearsago she reheat it at the restaurant. Once you cook it you should consume it within a couple hours depending on the temperature of where you live. Idk when she cooked it, if it was the same day or the previous day and refrigerated. But, once you reheat it that time of consumption (assuming it was stored correctly previously) reduces significantly. If you don’t think is a big deal google it.
